I ordered mine in early December, I still have the none Lrf model and will still keep it. It's nice to see an in-depth review and I cant wait for mine to arrive, thanks Paul.👍
Excellent overview Ian 💪 seen the comparison footage and let's just say it speaks for itself! A few years ago an X sight 4k would have cost the same and if you wanted the rangefinder it was another £300 odd on top 😂 For me the best of both battery solution is enough to seal the deal let alone the excellent display and front objective and the lrf and balistic function!! As you say other stuff on the market and as good as it is optically this is far superior, what the other unit has is the price point but its reflected in the limit in its capability. That said its as good in the daytime from what I've seen! What an exciting time in the world of NV 🤯 Thanks again definitely food for thought 👍 look forward to more footage of the 4k lrf in action 👌 atb
Looks like they've pulled the rabbit out of the hat with this one! A quick question if I may, is the IR position adjustable at all like the Pard DS35, I've seen several YT videos on this Hik and the IR splash is different on all of them? Cheers!
That scope looks superb. Best I've seen yet. Lrf✔️ Ballistics ✔️ 18650✔️ Instant playback✔️ Type C✔️ 4k✔️ Sensitive low light performance ✔️ Hope it has a very nigh waterproof rating Ballistic ref on pip A choice of fine ballistic reference icons...the flat line looks very handy on the pulsar range..with windage marks... Looks like a dream scope. Great introduction review. Does it have wifi or Bluetooth for cable free download to app? Custom ballistic reticle generator is hopefully coming in the future...but...with lrf...possibly not so necessary 😊
@@blackwoodoutdoors it really looks like a dream NV scope. Does it take longer 18650 with the protected circuit? Some devices are handicapped in this manner in that they can only accept the shorter style 18650 without the protected circuit. Which seems odd as a spring contact overcomes this issue
thanks mate. very nice scope. I'm from Australia and use a pard 008lrf. These scopes look to be a really nice upgrade. i wish they had a built in IR, as the pard's one works great for me. if i see a fox in my paddock, i grab the rifle from the safe with the compact pard built in IR, walk out and shoot it. having to fit an external IR would be a pain in the butt, fox gone, unless you have room in the safe, which i don't.
Great video after viewing / hands on the old model Alpex non LRF model I am suitably impressed and am looking forward to the LRF version 2 to be in stock . It was street,s ahead of all of the digital scopes I was shown .the number plate on a car 100m distant was easily recognizable .
Unreal review ian what mounts are you using are they QR and will they hold zero if i move it from rifle to rifle? Keep the great reviews and footage coming, theres no one else doing helpful and truthful reviews on youtube everybody just talking s**t and getting paid and told what to say about products so hunters like us buy something which is over hyped no where near as good as we have been told it is and then out of pocket and left with something that’s no good 😡
Yes I agree. Not all, but there are lots of youtubers wanting free meal tickets, false promotions and certain puppets on strings advertising any crap on the shelf, certain companies want to shift, even if bad.....
Good in depth explanation of the differences between the 2, sounds like you know these products well and can genuinely recommend rather than just sell. Ordered already from you before watching but pleased to watch and learn some features etc before it arrives. 👍👍thanks.
The sensor is 4K but the OLED display is 1920 x 1080. Maybe I need someone to do the math for me as it seems the output isn’t 4K? Thanks for the review. Top notch 👍🏻
With the adjustment knob now on top how does it affect access when an IR is fitted? What IR would you recommend? I use a wicked lights 68i with my Drone but although it’s a brilliant long range light that also goes red light if there’s rubbish in way and I’m getting flashback, it weighs a ton.ps thanks for an excellent review 🎉
Hello. Very good video, excellent viewfinder, but the big defect is that it does not come with the ir included in the box and it has to be purchased as an accessory....I didn't understand well, does it come with a non-removable internal battery?..Regards
You can purchase your own choice of IR separately . It has internal and external battery power, using a 18650 that is supplied also and x2 internal batteries.
Thank you for the initial review and findings. Forgive my ignorance I’ve never used one of these systems but am interested in obtaining one. Does this new 4K unit need an additional IR illuminator/ Torch at an additional cost please? Is that something Hikmicro supplies like on the older model? Hopefully I’ll get to look at one at next month’s shooting show. Best regards and happy new year. 👍
Yes you will need an external IR for the unit, a good 50mm LED works great, providing a nice clean image or a VCSEL option will get you out to further ranges . The unit comes supplied with a dual charger dock and 18650 battery cell also.
Hmmm most scopes don't they revert to a lower resolution for night mode. Although I think this might just retain the same resolution day and night, let me do some digging..
Does the holdover cross (given after ranging) appear in the pip screen? Also, when entering the data for the ballistic calculator, you do not need to enter the bullet weight? Id have thought weight would be one of the main inputs???
@@blackwoodoutdoorsgot one today at the shooting show. Lovely piece of kit. While I set the distance to yardage in the ballistic calculator it’s in metres and can’t be changed. Any chance you guys could set up a video going through a detailed setup.
Cheers Neil, get sick of all the divvy promoters just talking the same crap, nice to just have a working mans review instead of the puppets on strings from other retailers, like a punch and judy show... ha ha, you know the ones..
@blackwoodoutdoors5015 mate this is the way people wanna see reviews in my opinion say it straight most reviews are paid for either directly or indirectly you just say it as seen give me that any day of the week rather than blokes blowing smoke so they don't loose their subsidised deal I know with you if ya don't sell it dont buy it 😉

Excellent initial review Ian. Very well explained, giving all the salient points that matter most. Also brilliant to see it uploaded in 4K. 👍👍👍
Cheers :D
Hope you can help I’ve got the wrong language how do I get back to the language section

Yes makes it quick having inbuilt IR, but a quick fit mount and weaver accessory rail an external torch is fitted in seconds.
Definitely interested to see how it compares to the Arken. Arken way lighter but image quality will be key.
Have a look at the other videos on this channel
Very informative. Many thanks 👍
Thank you for this very informative video. The Picatinny rings look very interesting, what brand are they from?
Hello these are Innomount rings, German manufactured.

I don't see infrared lights Is it an add-on device?

Good review but I reckon the Pard DS is a better option for the money
DS35 is a good scope too, cracking eye display and reticules..

Yes
what brand/kind of mount is that ?
What caliber of mnepmatic ammo do you use?

Records in 4K, 1920x1080 is the screen resolution, no pointy it being 4K as it's such a small screen being viewed so close.

We use our own 50mm LED but a good VCSEL would be ok too.

What's the eye relief? (Will it give me a black eye on a lightweight. 308?)
Decent eye relief and included recoil eye cup
Great review
Hello, do you have to buy the IR separately or would it come in the box?
You have to buy the IR separate, you can choose your own, either LED or VCSEL IR
Great review Ian, well done. Does it remain in 4k when switched to night mode ?
Hmmm most scopes don't they revert to a lower resolution for night mode. Although I think this might just retain the same resolution day and night, let me do some digging..

No bullet weight required just speed and BC. Holdover mark is only displayed on the main screen not in the PIP
