I didn't believe it when I saw, my old phone charging again.
What can I say ? You have my thanks 👍
(I used an old cable from a microsoft mouse).
I know how the battery is dead, cannot be charged because it got overdischarged at 0% to 1% and 2%, the phone screen is blacked out, the metal terminals are destroyed and you have to put red wire to + and black to -, wait 60 seconds and then put the battery inside, plug it in and the battery light will show up once it's red. Wait until it is blue. After 1 to 2 hours the battery light is blue, fixed and completely charged and the screen background is purple and white.

Red=Low it means battery is below 16 or 0 to 15 and Blue=High it means battery is above 15 or 16 to 100. E means empty and F means full.

be EXTRA careful bypassing the safety function on these batteries by using this technique (double jeopardy). NEVER charge while sleeping or away, avoid heat and moisture.
Well apart from others, charging a phone overnight is just fine. Your phone automatically stops charging when it's on 100. We'll it might generate heat for the bounces of draining and charging but when ur phone knows that it is too hot then to prevent more generating heat, it shuts down and stop charging. But your phone would never boom while charging thanks to its advanced logic board. Still don't do it cuz it wears out(a permanent damage of battery shortening its capacity) your battery faster.

the battery was at 3.7v originally ya, your long time no charge battery was at 2.7v yes? how about if it was at 0.7v, can it still use this same method, the battery hasnot been charge for 10years.

HI, how do i find what is the Positive and Negative when my Garmin Nüvo 220 battery does not have that information in the battery? Actually a vhbw replacement battery.
This is late, but you can use a voltmeter to detect the terminal polarity. If the orientation you connect the voltmeter in shows a positive voltage, then the spot you've connected the negative (black) COM wire to is the negative terminal. If it shows a negative voltage on-screen then the negative terminal will be located under the positive (red wire) lead. It is important that you know the correct (default) spot to plug the red and black wires in on the multimeter for reference (in order for my above directions to make sense).

So why can't we just use the normal USB cable from the start??? You're using it anyway.
Just put the charger for 10+ hr in your phone and battery will get wake up from over discharging because even phone will try to block current from flowing in it ,it can't able to do it fully so this low leaking of current can make your battery to wake up...
