That's actually a Purvis Eureka "Sports", which were built in 1974 and '75. Same shape as the Nova and Sterling. You can tell by the hood nostril's, low swept windscreen and rear trunk lid. Purvis had a fire destroy some of his factory but returned with the "PL30" model which had more head room with a higher swept windscreen, no hood nostrils, different dash and gutters around the roof for better water/wind proofing. This is the model I owned. The PL30 ran until 1976.
Another redesign saw the "F4" model with a high flat deck trunk lid(engine cover), boxier rear under sill and round headlights. These ran from 1976 to 1992

Super cool, BEAUTIFUL car, congrats! I had a kid buddy growing up in the US and his dad built a very similar car called a Puma-we loved riding in it as kids!

I am madly in love with all Sterlings, ESPECIALLY red ones. I can't help but see Hot Rod from the 1986 Transformers movie when I see them. This car blows away many a car from the 2000s in looks alone. Incredible

@@thefightisalwaysfixed8890 thanks mate. Haha theres no way an LSA would fit in that, let a lone a small v6. Biggest engine i can fit in it is a EJ24 non turbo. The car would need to be reengineered to hold the bigger engine

Danny l live in Australia and have known about them for a long time l saw one yesterday and have had the opportunity to get close to one at a Volkswagen car show and l talked the owner and he explained how you git into it
Very cool front end looks like a 308 Ferrari, rear side view looks like a Pantera and that targa top movable windshield door sill is way cool. Take care counts customs.

Hey Danny, is it possible to mid engine this kit car...? Maybe it's 914 powered ? All the ones I've seen close up were at VW shows and had rear engines like most vw kits. Looks awesome.. There's some sort of flip up panel at upper back edge of roof, sort of like 914's did for basic engine/battery access so maybe it is a mid engine, maybe you can request additional details of engine ? Thanks Danny !

Hey mate, so car weighs in at 950 kgs, the power is about 100hp from the rebuilt vw aircooled engine. So its got the potential just never considered it tbh

Hi, they only have a VW beetle engine, when first sold, you liked the body but when it fired up and ran, then you heard the typical dakk dakk sound everyone just laughed
They were kit cars, but a old VW, remove the body and fit this piece of fiberglass on it, almost exactly like a dune buggy
A few years later they had a mod to place ford escort engines in them, at least upgrade to a 2.0 litre and some fast parts it would have drove ok, Mazda rotary was next upgrade in early 80's, and some that suvived into late 90's / 2000 had the subaru boxer engine swap - steering and brake upgrades to match more power ?? who knows.
Eventually registration authorities and insurance companies starting not to register them as 9/10 cars were built in a driveway or garage by a car owner and a lot were not assembled back properly, especially when found out the base VW was a ex accident car or bought from a wrecker or damaged / unroadworthy VW to start with
30-50% were still registered and insured a a VW beetle as well as the purvis had not vehicle ID or VIN other than the original beetle
For me on a personal taste i would go for the dune buggy
Surprised how many people all it a Ferrari or Lambo - it has the general look, but the dak dak exhasut and the style of the rear lights in square or round look like they cam eof a bus
A good and affordable idea at the time, and yes 2 competent mechanics / panel shop staff could do the conversion in a home garage in a weekend
