When I played this for the first time back in the day I'd use Flash Man's weapon for the second round of the laser beams. I lost count how many times I died in that part when not using it.
A lot of it is having good control of Mega Man and it takes some practice. Another thing truly is memorizing the maps *and some people suck more at memory than they think* Lastly, is the controller you’re using. Sometimes you just don’t have the luxury of a classic NES controller. Me? I have one of those shitty arcade sticks because my nephew needed it to be an arcade stick, because they’re sooo cool. So yeah. Difficulty is subjective. I found this stage surprisingly short, but so difficult that without help or cheating, you’ll be stuck there for at least an hour figuring out the light beams and such.
Those yellow force beams used to almost always kill me, and especially to know that you need perfect precision maneuvers to get past those beams which will kill Mega man in a single hit. They don't just damage Mega man, they kill him instantly.
For REAL! It took seemingly forever to get the "You're Quick, Man" achievement in Legacy Collection 2. After my lengthy aggravation I slowly realized the reference and was like 😑.
The worst thing about this stage is that Nintendo & Capcom expected you to do nearly frame perfect inputs to evade some beams... Why.... Why are we here? Just to suffer?
This is my favorite stage in Mega Man 2.The music is fast & good, the graphics nice and the gameplay.... Just need to learn everything and then you can do evey time this stage.

You can use flashmans weapon to make it easier, but generally what I do is that I keep a close observation when the screenscrolls the gameplay doesn't immediatly resume so you have enough time to see where you should position megaman.
This is my favorite stage in the original Mega Man series. The music is awesome. When I was younger, I could never get past those beams. I found out later when I got the Mega Man Collection for PS2. Quick Man is my favorite boss to fight.
My friends so obsessed with quick man, he would legit call anyone who struggles with it a skill issue. I think he may have a lot more for the boomerang speedster but thats just me

In this run, look at 1:29 (Pink got the 1-up and survives). In Roahm's run, look at 2:36 (Perfect Run: Roahm avoids/misses the 1-up) and 5:20 (Outtake: Roahm gets the 1-up, only to get Force Beamed).
The wily wars essentially makes those mechs immune to the Air Tornado Power up so its literally just better to run through them and take a hit than fight them.
I have found the easy way to beat Quick Man. All you need is at least 75% HP and crash bomber. When you enter the boss room fire the bombs as fact as you can, don't move in any direction, dont jump, just press B-button as fast as you can. Quick Man will jump and damage you but he will get damaged with explosions of crash bombs. This always works even on hard mode. But of course it doesn't work for no damage runs :(
i dont use flash stopper on the beams or quickman. i like using it before fighting him and then i enter the room with 5 energy bars left because i love the delay of the boss theme before he fills up his energy as it interrupts the theme. just like wily stage 5 wily machine fight 1 with the delay
actually you can exploit quickman's ai with metal blade all you have to do is shoot a metal blade, then he will lock it and pose. just pause, change weapons and hit him then rapidly switch back to metal blade and repeat it until he dies
@@Red_Biker_Dude Yeah, Heatman's stage is a joke when you have Rush Jet, but you're either lying or being disingenuous to say it's one of the "easiest" stages in the game to learn the patterns and timing of the invisible blocks. I can play at beat any stage today, no problem, but that one I would have to practice and memorize.

The beams are notorious for the instant kill, but as you say, the path can be memorized fairly easily. I don't think I was ever able to beat Quick Man himself without it being a messy battle of attrition.
Remembering the first couple of times playing this stage...it took me some attempts but I came through quite 'quickly'... The key is also NOT to JUMP or at least as less as possible during the laser parts. Jumping takes time and you don't have... I have seen many online runs who jumped and get destroyed.
When I actually managed to beat this stage, I had to take a long breath. I was so proud to finally get through it I didn't care if anything else killed me. XD
The best advice I can give about the Lazer section if you're using an emulator is to just suck up your pride and use the save states. You'll eventually get the rhythm down, and you'll memorize it better when you don't need to start all the way at the beginning.

Without Stop Timer from Flashman, it is difficult, but not impossible. Gotta time it perfect. One slip up and it’s game over.

HeelNavi Any weapon that he blocks will work too like Bubble. Bubble, P-shot. Rinse and repeat 7 times (14 in difficult).
This and Heatman were some of the "Super Meat Boy" hard levels for us olds.

That is just not true. I'd argue the complete opposite, they are some of the easiest.
