    The little brass cylindrical "nut" has a groove around it. The SSD card half-round cutout should be fitted into the groove and the "nut" then secured. This holds the SSD off the reader, with a space between the two, rather than holding it tight down to the reader.

    No, you can't!! because after you plug in the ssd m2 to the device, the ssd m2 requests to format it, so you can't access your data, it obliged you to format the ssd!

      That just means the file system is corrupt and can't be accessed.

    I got the same adapter, mine came with a thermal pad/strip. what am i supposed to do with that?

    wrong if you want to move data from a c: partition where windows is installed

    Are you sure this is an NVME? There's two holes where it inserts instead of one, which should mark it as an M2 SATA

    Just because it has a B&M key doesn't mean it's not an NVME. I have one in front of me right now.

    That's a sata drive, so most likely not nvme

      The device will read whatever m.2 is used.

    Forget the kind that has the little plastic tab on the end and you don’t have to mess around with putting a screw in.

      Did u manage to get any results? My sandisk ssd external hhd stopped working and can’t see showing up anywhere, I’m thinking would this help to get my data back?

    Hey pls reply doses it still work if my m.2 is not readable to boot and if my partitions is not seeable, or if the driver is dead, will it still retrieve files with that thing?
