🔴 Millikan's Oil Drop Experiment || in HINDI

  • In this Chemistry video in Hindi for class 11 we explained the Millikan's oil drop experiment which was conducted by Robert Millikan and Harvey Fletcher. They found that the of an electron is -1.59 X 10 ^ (-19) coulomb which is very close to todays accepted value for the charge of an electron. Millikan and Fletcher computed the charge by measuring the terminal velocity of oil droplets.

    It is very difficult to find such a teacher like you nowadays specially in India where teachers of chemistry only teaches which comes in exam(jee or neet) and the irony is that the concepts which comes in exam they also don't know anything about that concept, they only have done so much practise that they can only teach students how to solve exam questions😔😔
    Hats off to you sir You teach pure depth of science ♥️♥️♥️♥️

    Sir
    While calculating buoyant force, which density did we actually take?
    For Eg, in the case of gravitational force, you took the density of oil particle. But did you take the same density in case of buoyant force???

    • @zainasiddiqui5257
      @zainasiddiqui5257 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Buoyant force is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced. Here fluid is air. So weight of the fluid displaced = mass×g

    • @zainasiddiqui5257
      @zainasiddiqui5257 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mass = density × volume
      Since we are talking about fluid that is air, we will take density of air
      And volume? Of the drop because that much volume of air is taken by the drop, clear?

    • @adarshjena407

    If some numbers n1,n2,n3,.... are integral multiples of some number c, won't they be multiples of c/t, where t is an integer. Consider an example. 8,12,16 are multiples of 4, but they are also multiples of 2, which is 4 over an integer (in this case 2 itself) how did they know this is the value, as according to this those multiples must also have been multiples of half of the charge of an electron, one third of the charge and so on

    • @danceworld3376
      @danceworld3376 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      See, buoyant force and viscous force are acting in upward direction and acceleration due to gravity (g)is acting in downward direction. If upper and down force are same, net force is 0 bcz both upper and lower force cut each other.and oil drop is going in down due and up also.due to constant velocity net force is 0. I think so.

    • @rameshpokharel6861
      @rameshpokharel6861 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its like this
      Since the net force is zero
      The acceleration of the oil is also 0
      And newtons 1st law says "with net force 0,the body's velocity will have same magnitude and same direction"
      i.e body requires unbalanced force for change in velocity or even to make it zero.Since force is balanced , the body moves with the same velocity attained at that point when force gets balanced and velocity becomes constant.
