@Clippy True but I enjoy that there is more Eva content even if it can be cringe at times. I would personally change it so the characters ack more like what they did in the show and be somewhat realistic but that would make it kind of depressing, but for Mana... she does come off way to strong onto Shinji but this is a dating sim sooo
@Clippy I was looking at EVA related stuff on Google and came across an image of the character, Mana Kirishima. I had no clue who she was and thought I had missed an episode of the show. Lol. I had no clue EVA had a game series. It’s really cool to see how it manages to keep a similar tone to the show’s more filler episodes. It honestly makes me wish we did get more episodes. Sure we have the Rebuilds which still aren’t finished, but they just hold a candle to the original TV series.

The waifu we needed but not the one we deserve. Even if she was a spy and had a boyfriend she felt more realistic than Mari who just shows up, had no chemistry with Shinji other than making him feel awkward and (spoilers) randomly ends up with him in 3+1.
In a weird sense Mari is the embodies of Evangelion fans, a girl who wants the fun of piloting an eva but not all the depressing side effects lol.
Mari is the Poochie of ROE. She's nice and all but she's just too unrealistically perfect and never really fits in the story. I wonder if she's just a product of Shinji's imagination to cope with all the sht happening around him.

This new girl mana, MINUS in the manga, Is unrealistic, overly optimistic and idealistic instead of relaistic, and too perky it can be annoying, and almost as bad as the "emotionalless" girl, I mean she has A emotion, but it's ONLY that emotion, while rei does show a few other emotions, albeit really watered down versions of them.
This same problem with a "overly perky brown haired girl replacing the red haired girl who stands up from herself, while the male gets turned even less ballsy" trope, is a problem I noticed when things get remade to appease seemingly both sjw/tumblr/twitter/PC culture, as well as east (mainly China's (I dunno if still current thing they do)) culture with the perfect women for a stressed out dude.
Don't get me wrong, NOT saying this is the case with why this made like this, NOR saying mana herself is bad, just feels a little forced.
The manga slice of life version of Mana has to be the BEST version of her, as she is more than that one emotion, as she has can be negative, albeit not physical like the other two, which I admit is a great change of pace from the others.

How did you manage to run it? I have look far and beyond how to do so, but I have been unsuccessful.
The non-Special Edition releases should work on any version of Windows without any modifications. The Special Edition uses SecuROM DRM - Microsoft released an auto-update a few years ago for every version of Windows from Vista onwards that completely broke everything that used SecuROM (basically non-pirated physical versions of most major PC games from like 2003 to 2009ish), so you'll either have to run it in a Windows XP Virtual Machine or try to re-enable the part of the OS that the DRM uses manually via Command Prompt (I tried this and it didn't work).
@@BEYONDELECTRICSHEEP , it's a shame that the Special Edition cannot run anymore. I tried to do the Command Prompt thing as well, and also didn't work. So it seems that I'll have to find the original version. Any idea where I could look for it (if you can write about it of course)?
There was a version that worked with WIN 10, no problems, but when I went back to the megalink i got it from, the link was dead. Aside from that the game is impossible to find (there might be something on the internet archive)

AFAIK, that is the version of secdrv.sys that comes with Windows 7. You might need to merge the registry file included in that zip into your Windows registry. I did but I'm not 100% certain whether it's necessary or not. Also, when you disable driver signature enforcement it lasts for one full boot. This means that if you use fast start-up it will persist until you do a full shutdown or restart.
It's worth remembering that you're disabling a security feature to do this and that the Safedisc driver was disabled in the first place because of a security flaw. This risk is pretty minimal if you're careful, but I would only have the enforcement disabled and the driver enabled when you need to play a game.
I'll just add though that this is only true of the English patch, which removes the disc check although sadly not Safedisc itself. If I try to run a clean install of the game it complains about disc emulation software, even when Daemon Tools was completely uninstalled.

Also while this was going on people found full versions of most of the games I wrote about in the 2nd part of the article and uploaded them to the Internet Archive so I've been going through all of that, along with some other stuff that surfaced after I started covering Eva games. Girlfriend of Steel 2 Playthrough is absolutely still coming, though, definitely didn't expect it to take this long but it'll happen soon.
