  • Actually i didn't buy any phone cooler, i used a small usb fan behind the phone, that's basically more or less the same thing, i avoided any kind of thermal throttling. A dedicated solution would be more efficient. I did a two runs, with and without screen recording within the same location to show real performance without any loses.

Let me clarify one thing: Actually i didn't buy any phone cooler, i used a small usb fan behind the phone, that's basically more or less the same thing, i avoided any kind of thermal throttling. A dedicated solution would be more efficient. I did a two runs, with and without screen recording within the same location to show real performance without any loses.
Also i did a math, playing with this settings and without throttling gonna drain your phone battery in 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Did you mean full battery drain in 2h 40min?

a fan and a cooler is not really the same thing IF the phone really THERMAL throttle, since some cooler like the one they use for black shark working similar to a fridge where one side is cold and the other side is warm hence the fan for cooling the hot side

@@Wanderer彡 yes. from 100% to 0%. As you can see at 00:00 battery has 60%, at 20:00 it's already 45%. Without screen recording power consumption is lower, this is the condition i did math with.

@@hollow314 Every phone with passive cooling does throttle over time with this high load and i know that phone coolers uses a bit different method of cooling, but they does pretty much the same thing in the end: cools down back panel of the phone. And this is showcase of Genshin Impact performance without any thermal throttling at all.

If you're gonna use a cooler, the best cooler for all phone in general will be Blackshark cooler.
All the other cheap cooler is shit because the plating surface doesn't transfer the cooled heat on the plating to your phone especially if the phone case is made of plastic. This is why Blackshark cooler is more expensive than the rest.
From my experience with 60 fps medium settings genshin, I can comfortably play at 36-39c with the cooler. Without it the temperature would jump up to 40-44c. It definitely feels worth it but the one downside is you can't really bring it everywhere you go.
Luckily for us though hoyo introduced 45 fps which gt neo 2 can run easily at a low temperature even without a cooler.

Yes i was thinking about getting one. That the reason i made this test. Well, since it didn't help with FPS drops during combat i'm gonna stick with 45 fps option and no cooler.

I used the Bluewow X3a cooler. But it doesn't seem to affect much. My phone heats up to 40-41°C on high preset 60fps. Sometimes 42° if weather is too high. But I didn't noticed any changes on temperature with cooler. I regret buying the cooler now 🥲

Thank you for sharing. Ain't 40°C is already low? I played Genshin yesterday on highest and got 49°C on battery after hour of playing, and in this test with small fan behind it didn't go up higher than 41°C. Well, maybe phone coolers are not as effective as simple small fan, but that's not what am i seen in other tests honestly.
