My late father was literally a pro at model building in the 80’s(he’d build for the picture on the box for smaller companies)and he touted Tamiya as making some of the VERY best kits.

Beautiful build. Remarkable aircraft. They built them across the river from where I was born. Everyone around Evansville and the Tri-State area where I grew up knew about and loved the P-47. Even my grandfather worked at Republic and helped build them. He helped install the engines.
Excellent video, you shot the video in a way so that it is so easy to follow! And I like that there is no talking, just action.

Thank you for supportive comments as always! 🤙I didn't forget your last reply but I was so busy for other stuff in personal life, I simply forgot to write it down. I have limited time to answer question and comment. I haven't bought new camera for scale modelling (I did for other purposes) I still use my 5y old camera, with many different lenses so I might used the 17-55 f2.8. There's a new real back-light from "new" light source the real window 😄

Very cool! There is a P-47 kit that has the colors and decals of the FAB (Brazilian Air Force, served in Italy during the second war providing support for the 5th American Army where the FEB force also acted).

Santa Maria! I build this same kit long times ago and use the same eduard pe set, it bring back incredible memory it was so much fun and enjoy. Only the small problem was get the decal to shape round the supercharge on belly, but I can confirm like Dusan say to that this kit is the perfection and maybe best on the sell.
Awesome job! I wish Tamiya would make a P-47N “Pacific Theater” Thunderbolt. I have a friend whose late father flew it out of Ie Shima Island during WWII.
Sword has a 72 scale one, in stock on spruebrothers atm. apparently the assembly isnt as nice as Tamiya standards but the OOB detail is higher

Great build! Very '' clean'' work. Personally I have just finished the Academy P47d razorback kit in 1/72 scale. P47s are beautiful planes with a variant of choices for painting. 👍😎

Amazing video and an amazing model. And it again proves why you are so important in the online modelbuilder scene. You are not afraid to build models without a 8 layers massive weathering and oil gushing out from every crack and hole. This model is pristine and an absolut artwork.

Mr Paint makes the correct cockpit colour for the P-47. Only a few P-47Gs made by Curtis (which never saw combat ) were painted interior green.

Nice building!
I've been building P-47's since about 1971, and I think you did a great job. Except the right wingtip marker light should be green, not blue. The paint finish is excellent, and the weathering wasn't overdone.
You always create a sense of expectation when the notification comes through and you never disappoint...another fantastic episode and such a stunning result. Will be eagerly looking forward to the next build....thanks, Dusan.

Apparently, the P-47s were not interior green but probably Interior "Dark Dull Green" or possibly "Bronze Green". P-47Gs were interior green, however.. I learned not too long ago and got the "correct" colour. Not that it really matters but thought I should mention anyways. I love your cockpit!
Great work Dusan! You constantly fail to dissapont and this is great. I must say that because of you I tried using the wash on my models, I was always afraid of permanently staining the work with the black.
As for the kit: In Tamiya we trust, I worked on an F-16 and a P-51 in the 1/48th and they were both excellent kits, not only detail-wise but engineering-wise. I actually consider getting this Thunderbolt as a next build sometime. For now... a Corsair is waiting in my closet ;)

One small caveat about the admittedly excellent Tamiya Thunderbolt "Bubbletop". You need to check/research the aircraft you wish to make. The kit gives you a corrugated Cockpit floor, which is correct for the Razorback D series and the Bubbletop D series UP UNTIL the D-25 production run. Anything later (D26- thru to D33 will have a flat floor (no corrugations), as will the M and N series models. It is "Fixable" with either a 10 thou plastic card floor or a bit of careful chiseling and sanding. The 1/32 scale Trumpeter Kits and Hasegawa kits are similarly affected.
Tamiya smoke color is also super useful for tinting metallic shades (airbrush on like a filter)
