    Its like buying an imaginary home giving you an illusion that you are investing in real estate. But you are not really living in that home you invested in.

      Or it likes buying fractional shares of a home. Collect daily rental payouts and have the option to diversify into others, sell you're shares or watch your investment grow.

      Are you invested in stocks? If so, then in your own words "buy an imaginary company giving you an illusion ...". The reality is people that invested in Amazon, Google and Apple in the late 90s are all multimillionaire now. And those people that criticised the same people are now consumers that pay them to use their products.

    Personally I'd really love to own real estate properties as well as REITs, I've been informed of people making as much as $30,000 from these investments and If anyone could be lenient enough to share, I'd really love clue and tips on how to maximize profit

      @@verndubin2209 I began investing in REITs made enough profit in a year to buy rental units and parking lots and I'm still investing in Reits and my real estate properties which brings in roughly $480k annually

    Isn’t this at least part of the problem? Too many investors/investment companies in real estate pushing would be home buyers out of the market. If we treat housing more and more like the stock market the more volatility you’ll get and consolidation by a few large players.

      lol... this is just another snake in the grass who wants to become rich taking advantage of the dumb who think that buying into a reit with no property management experience is a good idea. plus, reits , which is what they are doing but acting like a tech company, are normally not liquid for 10 - 20 years and the returns are really not that great. most reits cant even pay the investors back and settle for pennies on the dollar.

      thats all they are doing but acting like it is a tech company. tech is the new buzz word without substance. one idiot tried it in the commercial market and his company is now in the gutters .. they also made what he was doing novel until it wasnt ..
      the only problem with any form of reits is, how do you get your money out unless it matures and they normally dont pay any dividends and most tend to fail because of mismanagement of funds ... if this is how they want to save to buy a home , it proves that the younger generation isnt that smart...

      @@bjvu9460 You can trade REIT's on the NYSE. Like investing in warehouse space with Prologis, or commercial real estate with CBRE, etc. I'm not sure what sort of REIT's you're talking about.

    You shouldn't he allowed to invest in real estate! Homes are for people to live in, not make money off of. My partner and I are stuck living with my partners in the bay because its too expensive to be on our own, and as a queer couple we don't feel safe leaving the state. This is only going to help the elite get richer while the demographic this is aimed for (young working adults like me) are going to continue to suffer

      Understand, there are REITs that only deal with hospitals, server farms, and commercial. I would invest in that rather than REITs that take away from home ownership.

You have people making trillions selling fossil fuels that hurt the planet, guns, bombs and whole bunch of other bad shit but let’s make buying a second or third home illegal? Doesn’t make sense at all. Move to where you can afford a home or rent. It’s that simple.

      @@Trentberkeley86 I have no problem when mom and pop landlords buying homes. I just don't like huge companies like BlackRock buying 1000s of homes at a time. This drives up prices for housing and creates a rent only option in some markets. Some countries have laws that prevent foreign investors and ibuyers from buying up all the properties for that reason. The US may need laws like this as well. This would essentially change the system.
      I agree though, they should move to a more affordable area, the Bay area of CA is one of the most expensive places in the US.

    Investment in single family homes is CAUSING the increase in prices.
    Unless this is investment for new housing development to increase supply, then this app is part of the problem for millennials and not the solution.

    Stupid idea and those people will be losing money. If you have the money, invest it in something more solid and stable. Start a stock portfolio not a housing portfolio. I trust the stocks more than housing market since that maybe crashing soon. Good luck to whoever decides to part with your hard earned money.

    Sounds like at the bare minimum they want to scoop up the 6% of both sides of the transaction. That's probably sustainable IF they can provide true value other than easing purchase anxiety for first time buyers.

    If the government allowed the population shrink naturally by tightening the immigration process and stopping the financial supports for single mothers, the property prices would've dropped significantly. Unfortunately, if they stopped the enforced "tourism", the country will lose around $500,000,000 every year
