      Nostalgia didn't include deliberate Wokeness though. Why accept this political crap from Lego? . They charge higher prices than they ever have yet expect people to bow down to political agendas. I hate to see what future sets will be if people give them a hard pass on this.

    Bricksie the waterwheel is powering a mill. The plates and tiles on the base of the mill inside (beside the sack) represent flour, which is overflowing and spilling onto the ground. It's SUCH a great detail.

    So many great mechanics used in this castle that give it a lot of play mechanics. I know you said in your previous video you were keeping this closed in the medieval scene but having it open gives it a lot more opportunities for scenes in the medieval section. The use of the masonry bricks is awesome here and something I think the Disney Castle could've benefitted from instead of the stone stickers that used as it gives off that legitimacy of the castle vibe. All of the minifigs look awesome too and provide lots of scene opportunities here. They went all out for this 90th anniversary set. Awesome review of an awesome set. Another thing I was going to suggest if it's possible is building a MOC of a mini trebuchet to put at the top of the castle.

    Love this castle build. You can tell so many stories with this set and the others in your Medieval scene. I do have a suggestion for the woodsman figures and the tree outpost set you built recently. You can put all of them together and make like a Robin Hood and his Merry Men group somewhere in the scene. They could be watching out for enemies of the Lion Knight Queen or just doing what Robin did and stealing from the rich to give to the poor. I think this would make a cute scene in the under-table area. Thank you for the videos and I can't wait for your next update.

      There are king minifigs for sale on Bricklink. Always remember that Lego owns Bricklink now. Each new set affects prices on BL. Forestmen minifig prices were very high but have come down a bit. I just checked for king minifigs. They're up in price. I just made a minifig order before finishing this comment. When I want a particular minifig, I will check the shop that sells it for any more that I want. This store had over 1100 to select from. I managed to narrow it down to 10 for me and my 2 girls. I try to buy 50/50 mix with females to ensure my daughters feel included. They've come up with some amazing combos I'd never think of!

    Agree, a king would be nice, so would a dragon, but I guess it depends upon whether they are they for authentic medieval or fantasy medieval. I’m assuming the later if they have a wizard casting spells. The hay roof is called a thatched roof. The guy with the back pack is mostly likely a scout / explorer surveying the land for resources.

    The water wheel is for generating flour. Thats why theres tan tiles and a little baggie right by. They use tan tiles because it's whole wheat flour since it isn't processed like today, because today's flour is white and processed removing some of the grain

    Hi Bricksie, what a brilliant detailed review, thanks for the effort! This will be my 2nd modern Lego set after 21322 Barracuda Bay after collecting everything from pirates and castle from the 80s & 90s. Question, do you always throw away the plastic bags and boxes or do you keep all that to put them back in the box someday? I'm still looking for a video about breaking down lego sets and putting them in bags in the right order but I can't find anything like that, maybe a good idea for you to make a vid about it! For anyone reading this, how do you guys do that? zip bags? keep the original bags and open them very carefully?

    • @judy3973
      @judy3973 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      One suggestion I heard is to begin dismantling from the last page of the instructions to the first page. Then you can bag the parts by bag number from last to first, numbering them as you go. For example: 20 bags, 240 steps, start at step 240 taking the pieces off until you reach step 219 which is the beginning of bag 20, bag the pieces and label as bag 20. From there proceed to dismantle steps 218 to 211 for bag 19. Go on all the way back to bag 1. Label zip bags with a permanent marker before putting the pieces in them. I’ve not done it yet, but this is the method that I would use because it makes sense to me. 😊

    I can’t wait to get this set! The first big set I owned was the lego kingdoms castle set (set 7946)

    Probably already mentioned but the lady with the cup and the hair covering isn't necessarily a nun or whatever. Head coverings like that were extremely common in medieval Europe.
    Hoods too, I'm surprised there aren't any hoods in this set because they're something lego usually includes in these castle sets.

    One of the best models Lego has brought out in a long time. Very expensive though!

    Incredible. Looks great and thanks for sharing your build and experience. Unfortunately think I will have to live vicariously through videos.

    It’s an amazing Lego set, but I think it would have a bedroom for the king, queen and princess too.

    It looks like this set might be driving up prices for king minifigs on Bricklink. I just ordered a "King Leo" from an old set for less than $7 and then grabbed a few others from that same shop to all go on the same order. I won't be buying this new castle until winter at least, but I may as well have the king ready. I bought 3x Creator castles to build the blue-roof "Medieval Castle" Rebrickable. Is that the one you're getting ready to build? I watched your "Parting out 3 Castles" video and I must say, I need one of those round dish/plate with all the spots for small parts! I have plastic shoebox sized bins but the size of that round plate is nice for those smaller pieces.

    those “slot windows” are kill windows. Archers could shoot enemies from inside while it’s much harder for the enemy to shoot at the archers from outside.

    I will only purchase this set if I get new shelving or a new table because I am currently using my table for a massive diorama I've been working on for a while
