Such a complex and amazing performance! I would never have thought of this piece transcribed for organ but I think it works at least as well as for piano. Thank you Lydie for revealing this to the world!
Hi Lydia, We are all still waiting and looking forward to your next organ video!! Please do show the entire pedal keyboard so we can enjoy watching your awesome footwork on the pedals!! Or even maybe a secondary picture with a close-up view of the pedal keyboard!
Great interpretation! Very small organ but fantastic orchestral sound! Grand orgue: Bourdon16, Montre8, Bourdon8, Prestant4, Doublette2, Grand Cornet V, Fourniture IV, Cymbale III, Trompette8, Cromorne8, Clairon4 Recit expressif: Bourdon8, Flute4, Flute2, Nazard et Tierce 2 2/3+1 3/5, Hautbois8, Voix humaine8 Pedale: Bourdon16, Flute8, Trompette8
1) I do not understand comments such as "that's neither organ nor piano". Liszt's original works for organ are precisely in-between, and while some aspects of the arrangement might be disputable, it is at least a nice try. Besides, playing by rote and taking care of the registration on such an instrument (no pistons, for sure) is already kind of an achievement. 2) The chosen organ is not exactly ideal for that music, so the choice makes me wonder. There are lots of instruments by Cavaillé or Puget around... 3) Pedals can be played with shoes, sandals, thin sleepers, socks, nylons or bare feet, there is nothing to write home about. Of course the playing techniques (and the risk of hurting oneself) vary accordingly. Big deal. But I cannot [under]stand all these disrespectful mentions of "smelly feet". Unlike some commenters, the organist here is not a troll. See for instance the fugal parts around 19'.
This is wonderful how you manage ! Normally this organ would be declared unsuitable to play that music, other transcriptions compensate by over-registration on modern organs with hundreds of combinations; But you choose a mechanical Dom Bedos without expression keyboard, you pull the registers alone while playing (only the best organists can do that). And it pays a right tribute to Liszt's music. So you are not afraid of challenges and you are a talented musician. Keep on surprising us.
Bravo Lydie ! Brillante transcription et la registration est originale. Peut-être que la présence d'un registrant vous aurait aidé ... Liszt est, malgré tout, magnifiquement servi par votre talent. Encore bravo et merci.
I agree 100% with Carol's comments regarding your performance. Also, if it would possible to place the camera lower and closer to the pedalboard that would be fantastic in order to better see your footwork and pedalling
Loved your performance!!! You are so talented!! A beautiful woman playing beautiful music!! It doesn't get any better than this! On your next organ video, Please lower the camera so we can view the entire pedal keyboard! I Love watching your footwork and double pedaling technique!! Thanks for sharing with us!!
It's incredible and unbelievable to see someone playing a nearly faultless 30 minutes concert all by heart. By the by, please be conscious that those people asking you for feet cam might be just fetishists... xD
Amazingly talented and beautiful, very nice performance Lydie
Great performance. Thank you.
The sonata is great on organ, one would think it was written for the instrument. fabulous.
"Transcription for organ by Lydie Solomon". Both the transcription and the performance are jaw dropping imo. Vous l'avez fait extraordinaire!
A wonderful piece beuatifully performed and amazingly handled this great old church organ
Perfect pedal control Lydie!!! Beautiful music!!!
Kinda surprised to see her play it barefoot....
@@csc115 yes a disgrace tbh

A virtuosic performance here but other organists have transcribed and played this amazing piece. eg. Rachel Lauren and Nathan Laube.
My compliments, a stunning performance!
Definately LOVE IT!
Wow! Great playing. The piece definitely picks up momentum at around 3:30. After that it is an avalanche.
It's weird to hear an organ and feel a piano. The rich colours/registration of the organ make this performance a totally different journey.

You are great talent! Now I'm learning this sonata too (in original piano version) and you inspire me!
Love it~
Super!!! Venez jouer à Nantes s'il vous plaît...
I never knew this is how organ was played. There are so many pedals.
There are! Some concert organists have absolutely mind-blowing pedal technique. Here's an example: th-cam.com/video/gp66DPyZzBU/w-d-xo.html

OMG
Do you find
That not wearing shoes
Improves your playing?
It seems your feet would slip of the peddles?
Do you wear gloves when playing the keyboard?

Carol98 i'm fetishist too
you fucking mad moron
Where is this church and who is the builder of this organ?
@@noax8383 Dom Bedos built it and the church is in the French Pyrénées.
@ thank you!
Now I want to hear it at the harpsichord.
Organs are so complex. And I thought playing piano was hard...

Move over Toccata and Fugue!

This is honestly, one of the strangest things I've ever heard. It doesn't work at all!
