  • Hydrosol is made from distillation of herbs and it is the water phase of the distillate. With rose petals, rose water is its hydrosol. With lavender buds, lavender water is its hydrosol. Real hydrosol brings you a lot of benefits but fake hydrosol will brings you negative effects.
How to tell if a bottle of hydrosol you purchase is real or fake? There are three factors you can measure which can help you decide.

Is it ok to use frozen material? My flowers bloom over time, so I can't get enough fresh material all at once.

I think frozen is a good idea to accumulate the flowers. Try using a zip bag and squeeze air out after putting flowers in before freezing. Soak in cold water before distillation and pour the water into pot for distillation.

I have a question (I am moments away from purchasing your product on Amazon) but was wondering once you've made the hydrosol, does it need a preservative? I want to use this for my hair and face but am not interested in preservatives, I just want a natural product that I can use without having to add that or to have to put it in the fridge. Thanks.

Hi, hydrosol has a pretty good shelf life which can be longer than 12 months without preservatives or being stored in fridge. You just need a good sanitized bottle for your fresh made hydrosol.

@@LeTimeLeo I kinda figured that!! Thank you so much! I definitely don't want to deal with mold in my hair 🤣. I should be able to go through it within 2 weeks or so and not have to put it in the fridge

@@LeTimeLeo thank you so much!! This was incredibly helpful! I will be purchasing your product today! Last question, but what water do you place into the vessel? Tap, distilled etc?

@@myheadofhair filtered water or distilled water are good options.
