I watch a variety of preacher and I keep a bible next to me, if I am not sure of what they are teaching, I pause the TV and look it up in my Bible. I really like the read along one’s on TH-cam. It helps me to pronounce the names of the cities, the people. Then when I hear it in church or hear, something on the news about the area, I understand better. 😊🙏 Thank you also for teaching the word of God! 😊🙏
Okay read revelation chpater 2 specifically the letter to the church of thyatira. Then go back into the word and find Jezebel and discover what this idolatry( adultery/fornication against God) she lead them to do was all about, it was common knowledge back then so they dont give details about the practices I mean why would God when he is a jealous God? So you will find out Easter Christmas day of the dead Halloween are what the Bible is reffereing to here and if you do these things you go into great tribulation then ask yourself why they wont tell you this or why the are adamant on jesus being buried on friday instead of Wednsday which would be consistent with the rest of scripture instead of the traditions they put in place of it in their text books. Tell me is three days and three night possible between friday afternoon and sunday morning? THAT is just the ewasy one the low hanging fruit.
Oh pastor Barnett, I'm older than you and Bonnie, but still we remember how everyone had that big black Bible sitting somewhere in the living room available for anyone to read. Today, my adult grandchildren don't want anything to do with reading the Scriptures, much less listening to it on their cellphones. We know the time is evaporating quickly. I believe the Lord Jesus knew that His chosen people would be unable to teach the ones who refuse to open their eyes and ears. I will never stop trying, but I must stop crying over the lost. I feel like a big part of it has to do with themes & the actual versions (wording) that are so unfamiliar to the younger generation - it doesn't seem interesting enough at the onset for them to pursue understanding. Just like a lot of videos or online stories have a title to generate interest or "clicks" I feel like there isn't a strong enough "lead" to Biblical knowledge that kids or adults these days even understand, much less, are interested in... Jesus taught in the lingua franca which was the common language at the time, and used themes that were easily relatable to that society, whereas if you tried to tell someone these days a verse from the King James Bible, they more than likely aren't even familiar with Old English + we are not in an agrarian society, so a lot of those parables are completely lost on them too. We need to find a way to bring them the Truth without altering or watering it down, of course - which is why I love Dr Barnett's teaching so much... because he explains the most complex & deepest teachings of the Bible in ways that any person (no matter how unfamiliar with it) can understand. I like the Amplified Bible - it is wordier because it translates the original Greek & Hebrew texts into modern-day English. The Expanded Bible goes a step further by explaining the context as well. These can be paired with other versions & are easily found on anyone's phone @ Biblegateway (dot) com. Keeping in mind that the unsaved won't understand spiritual things, we can still try to reach them the way that Dr Barnett does which is through facts and being updated with what's going on + explaining things simply. When my nieces & nephews were younger, I got them The Action Bible which was a fully illustrated "graphic novel" AKA comic book. Now adults, they recently told me that not only did they learn those stories from the Bible, but they shared them with their unsaved friends as well.
Its because you can do NOTHING without Gods help and since you're wilingly disobedient to his will then how can you expect those who see you being such to believe anything you say or want anything to do with it?

😮 Because some people think too highly of themselves but are also fragile and insecure. I spoke with a man once who claimed to be devout, but said he did not believe that God purposely caused some people to be born disabled. I asked him, "you said you take scripture literally right? In scripture Jesus said that a blind man was made that way from birth so that He could heal him and show the power of God." The man went to look it up in his bible, then came back and instead of acknowledging he was mistaken he pridefully changed the subject to a non biblical conversation. He refused to be hunle about not being perfect, this is the opposite of being reborn and repentant.
My brother in law, my wife's older brother, got mad at me for telling him(and he claims to be a Christian, for some 20 years) that at minimum, I read 5 chapters a day in the Bible.
❤ Maybe he thought you were comparing yourself to him as if you were better than him, and it made him feel defensive? I have had insecure people react to me like that in some conversations in the past and their defensive reaction took me totally by surprise because I never see anyone as less than myself in any situation.

My son is 8. We have been taking him to Sunday school for a long time. And i have been reading him scripture for a short while as he is only recently become old enough to start understanding. Now he has a younger brother or sister on the way. Admittedly im terrified. The world has become so blatantly God Hating, there are people who genuinely believe i am abusing him by teaching him the words of god. I was raised in the church, wandered astray, fell into sin, and my son coming should have set me straight, but it didnt. It took almost three years after his birth for me to really be convicted and now that i feel it, i am genuinely grateful to the lord. But i fear what is to come. I will have to change t around in my life to get ready for kid number two, my wife and i don’t have the finances right now, and im trying to change careers. I know the lord has my back, i know that my family is in his hand. I just fear the time i have to teach them is dwindling and with the new career i need i will have less time. Please pray for me if you find the time.
Last week I watched a video and you told how you put Scripture on the back of your phone so you can look at that before playing with the phone, and help with memorizing scripture. I have a OtterBox for my phone, so it's easy to put a sticky note on the inside. I appreciate the tip, I'd probably never thought of doing that... Thanks!

I’m 44, my mother is 66 - a “baby boomer.” Lol. We got saved and baptized together, side by side, almost 3 years ago. I started going to church and after begging her to join me, she finally decided to come with me. She claimed she could tell I didnt want her there because “I was afraid she would steal my thunder.” This is the excuse she told all of her friends, anyway. I know, ridiculous. This is my mother. We are polar opposites. I am meek, mild, timid, shy, quiet and reserved. She is outgoing, aggressive, outspoken and well, the opposite of me. She is always telling me to “stand up for myself.” Her famous last words (to justify her own actions, in my opinion) are that “being a Christian doesn’t make you a doormat.” Like she has something to prove. She needs to justify her self-righteousness. One of her favorite “preachers” to watch is Joyce Meyers 😩🤦🏼♀️ Enough said. I’ve tried telling her the truth and to turn the darn tv off. But she gets angry and defensive. Why is she always trying to justify herself, as a Christian? I wonder if she’s truly saved, or if she’s doing it all for show, for her own selfish reasons. I know that’s wrong to say, but I just don’t see it. She’s too “holier than thou.” I haven’t been to church in months, solely because of my work schedule. She is now on the board and doing their books as their official bookkeeper. Looks like she “stole my thunder” after all 🤷🏼♀️
I think Speak people who are searching. Do tend watch a lot of different preachers. I am in my 70s and have a hard time getting out. I have diarrhea all the time. And had so many accidents And if head ended up cleaning up message in different stores, washing the floors, cleaning the toilets, While washing the floors with my clothes, then washing my clothes in the sink, before walking back into the store, from explosive diarrhea. I'm not leaving the mess for others to clean. I can't walk good. But I sure love Jesus.
Im sorry to hear that. If I could just offer you some advice. Pray for her. Scripture says to pray without ceasing. Pray for her throughout the day, week, months. Be a light to her. Let her see Christ shining in you in everything you say and do. The third thing Id do, instead of coming at her from a critical angle, encourage her. Send her a YT video with a solid Christian preaching or speaking or a short every week and tell her how it blessed you and you wanted to share that with her. Send her a scripture passage. She will be more inclined to listen to biblical teachings and have a change of heart if you are doing this in humility and love. If you’re meek and gentle. Pastor Barnett, what if I've hated to read all of my life? I've been that way since I started school. I'm 56 years old, I can read but I can't process what I'm reading. I get more understanding from a biblical documentary or a Bible teaching on TV or in person.
Actually it is a blessing in my old age that the media has people reading the Bible to to us. As we get older some of us can't read. I listen to ministers as well. Nothing wrong with getting the word anyway you can process it.
Well, think about what you're saying... something YOU just don't like to do, and you're told that by READING THE BIBLE you'll get closer to The Lord and you think 'hating to read' is a good enough excuse? Listening to docu.entaries and pastors is good and we learn a lot from them. It is so important that we HEAR God's word. Try listening to the audio Bible, I like to do that sometimes. 😊
Same here! But here's (excuse the pun!) the thing - faith comes through hearing and hearing through the Word. I pray always for discernment and that no one will deceive me and I know that I have learned a lot from John Barnett, John McArthur and others who preach sound doctrine. I am now able to read the bible and have fallen in love with the Word of God. I hope this encourages you.
In the church, I'd say it's rich members that treat the poor like a pity case, or potential wolves. Even in really good fellowships, they guy without a wife, or a house, or a car is treated less-than, or worse.
Dont worry, most of them married guys are stuck in non loving marriages, and the wife is on the verge of leaving and taking everything with them. Thats why most younger men aren't getting married any more.

This is the biggest problem facing the church today. Apostle Paul called it the wind of doctrine. Example: if you decided to make videos and put them on TH-cam, TH-cam would interrupt your video (if it’s longer than a certain time frame, I believe it’s 8 minutes long or more). That’s how they make money, and it’s also how they make money for people to purchase ad-free TH-cam. This is exactly how television worked if you’re old enough to remember a time when there was no internet. You are blaming the pastor for TH-cam.

Reading the Bible all at once won’t make you a better Christian. You could read from cover to cover and it still won’t make you a better Christian. Are you studying what you’re reading and are you memorizing and mediating on the word of God? Which are good and essential things. Even then that still doesn’t make you a disciple of Christ. It is living out the word of God practically in your life in obedience to Jesus Christ. Biblical literacy comes naturally as you draw in a deeper relationship with God through personal time with him. In worship, prayer, and fasting. Renouncing everything in this world and submitting completely to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in every area of your life. The Holy Spirit does the rest. Doing and abiding solely in his will no matter the cost is what makes us disciples of Jesus Christ. Though I love your ministry and Sermons. I find it that people skip over a lot the context of the text that causes tons of issues. Genesis 1,2,3,4,5,6 are massively overlooked and misunderstood. 1 gives us a timeline of the events God foretells, like the sun and moon on the fourth day being symbols of Christ and the church that arrive on the fourth day. The day of rest being the representation of Christ’s millennium kingdom. 2 and 3 gives us a great picture of what God is thinking about when he talks about lusts/works of the flesh, because Eve is the very embodiment of it and Adam chasing after it instead of God’s wisdom. Gen 3 gives context on the beast of the field and fowl of the air actually being composed of angels, whom are indicated to be suitable in Gen 6 (before falleness causes corruptive results like Cain and the Nephilim). Which explains what God was offering to Adam in Gen 2 that was rejected for, yet again, the lusts in Adam’s flesh that caused him to fall in Gen 3. Gen 2 was indicative of the signs of Adam becoming a fallen man. And gives us a better understanding of the New Testament vocabulary. I really think People should instead seek the most important parts of the Word that the Word wants to lead them to, instead of trying to forcefully see its nakedness.
Iv'e watched Jon mcarthy say that Jesus went into the tomb on a Friday and came out on Sunday when thats not three days and three nights, I watch you celebrate Christmas Ishtar haloween and day of the dead as if its nothing when the BIBLE clerly says not to do this and you justify it with ONE verse out of context to the content to dfend your idolatry and YOU'RE saying beware of biblical illiteracy? Whatever works for you! I have a stack of 3x5 cards that I use and review regularly. All contain scriptures that are important to me.

Let her see Christ shining in you in everything you say and do. The third thing Id do, instead of coming at her from a critical angle, encourage her. Send her a YT video with a solid Christian preaching or speaking or a short every week and tell her how it blessed you and you wanted to share that with her. Send her a scripture passage. She will be more inclined to listen to biblical teachings and have a change of heart if you are doing this in humility and love. If you’re meek and gentle. Pastor Barnett, what if I've hated to read all of my life? I've been that way since I started school. I'm 56 years old, I can read but I can't process what I'm reading. I get more understanding from a biblical documentary or a Bible teaching on TV or in person.
Actually it is a blessing in my old age that the media has people reading the Bible to to us. As we get older some of us can't read. I listen to ministers as well. Nothing wrong with getting the word anyway you can process it.
Well, think about what you're saying... something YOU just don't like to do, and you're told that by READING THE BIBLE you'll get closer to The Lord and you think 'hating to read' is a good enough excuse? This is where we need to take a good look at ourselves and JUST DO IT. This isn't an indictment of your character, I'm just trying to get you to see the TRUTH. Listening to docu.entaries and pastors is good and we learn a lot from them. It is so important that we HEAR God's word. Try listening to the audio Bible, I like to do that sometimes. 😊

Same here! But here's (excuse the pun!) the thing - faith comes through hearing and hearing through the Word. I pray always for discernment and that no one will deceive me and I know that I have learned a lot from John Barnett, John McArthur and others who preach sound doctrine. I am now able to read the bible and have fallen in love with the Word of God. I hope this encourages you.
In the church, I'd say it's rich members that treat the poor like a pity case, or potential wolves. Even in really good fellowships, they guy without a wife, or a house, or a car is treated less-than, or worse.
Being a single disabled guy in Church seems to be a stigma against me.
Dont worry, most of them married guys are stuck in non loving marriages, and the wife is on the verge of leaving and taking everything with them. Thats why most younger men aren't getting married any more.

Example: if you decided to make videos and put them on TH-cam, TH-cam would interrupt your video (if it’s longer than a certain time frame, I believe it’s 8 minutes long or more). That’s how they make money, and it’s also how they make money for people to purchase ad-free TH-cam. This is exactly how television worked if you’re old enough to remember a time when there was no internet.

Reading the Bible all at once won’t make you a better Christian. You could read from cover to cover and it still won’t make you a better Christian. Are you studying what you’re reading and are you memorizing and mediating on the word of God? Which are good and essential things. Even then that still doesn’t make you a disciple of Christ. It is living out the word of God practically in your life in obedience to Jesus Christ. Biblical literacy comes naturally as you draw in a deeper relationship with God through personal time with him. In worship, prayer, and fasting. Renouncing everything in this world and submitting completely to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in every area of your life. The Holy Spirit does the rest. Doing and abiding solely in his will no matter the cost is what makes us disciples of Jesus Christ. Though I love your ministry and Sermons. Go easy on the screen thing I rather have people reading the Bible than not reading it at all. Thank you and GodBless
I find it that people skip over a lot the context of the text that causes tons of issues. Genesis 1,2,3,4,5,6 are massively overlooked and misunderstood. 1 gives us a timeline of the events God foretells, like the sun and moon on the fourth day being symbols of Christ and the church that arrive on the fourth day. The day of rest being the representation of Christ’s millennium kingdom.
2 and 3 gives us a great picture of what God is thinking about when he talks about lusts/works of the flesh, because Eve is the very embodiment of it and Adam chasing after it instead of God’s wisdom.
Gen 3 gives context on the beast of the field and fowl of the air actually being composed of angels, whom are indicated to be suitable in Gen 6 (before falleness causes corruptive results like Cain and the Nephilim). Which explains what God was offering to Adam in Gen 2 that was rejected for, yet again, the lusts in Adam’s flesh that caused him to fall in Gen 3.
Gen 2 was indicative of the signs of Adam becoming a fallen man. And gives us a better understanding of the New Testament vocabulary.
I really think People should instead seek the most important parts of the Word that the Word wants to lead them to, instead of trying to forcefully see its nakedness.
