Doing so minimizes misunderstandings that can ruin the con experience for all. For many years I have been fascinated by talent agents - the folks that get work for actors, directors, etc. Sure, they negotiate deals for their clients. However, of equal importance is managing the communication/emotional needs of the agent-client relationship. In one interview, for example, one of the most influential agents in Hollywood, who has many A-list clients, actually said that "managing expectations" is one of the most important things she does. People are social/emotional creatures, not robots. Effective leaders/business owners respect this fact, just sayin.'

36:10 My biggest mistake too! When I was just getting started, I was using my old clunky HP printer for everything, and was spending $30-$60 a week on ink 💀 Finally got my eco printer about a year ago and I’ve only had to refill the ink once thank god

Having set expectations definitely makes things less of a headache in the future and also ensures both parties are happy!

Fanart is definitely king when it comes to AA at any cons unless you have a strong brand presence (or have a general kawaii style as you mentioned) 🥲
So true about the tendency to shift your perspective when you really want something, especially with personal expenses versus business expenses 😅🫣
It's definitely a challenge remembering to differentiate biz vs personal prices and what seems normal for either of them 😅
