  • Progressive Suspension's monotube cartridge may be easier to install than you think. See how they walk us through the job of installing one on a Harley-Davidson.

    I installed these on my 02 Night Train. I couldn't get the drain screws to not spin the internals, but it doesn't leak. I never use an impact on assembly but the general consensus was that it's ok on the drain plug screws, so I gave it a try after installed by hand and it did nothing but spin the internals. After retorquing and trying to align the front forks and triple trees numerous of times bike now pulls to the right, it used to coast straight before the work. Rear wheel is straight and was done with alignment tool multiple times. At the same time i replace my open belt primary back to the wet primary so with both changes the only thing I can think of is the tire wear from the old shocks and possible weight difference of the primary. Neck bearings are ok, front pads drag normal amount but it's probably a good time to replace wheel bearings anyway at 46k. Bike rides great and rebuilding forks is such an easy job, just hope new tires will cure the infamous pulling problem that so many of us Harley riders encounter.

      Did the new tires solve the issue?

      @@freebehindbars8654 Spacers. I’ve had a few set of custom wheels and it’s amazing what an eighth of an inch will do. Went back to OEM spacers and It was good. Let go of the bars and she’s on a rope. This was before I replaced the tire. I’m still running and aftermarket 21” x 3 1/2” 60 spoke rim which is much better than the OEM 21” x 2.15” wheel.

    Installed on a 2005 RoadKing. Ride is a bit stiffer than expected but better than the original OEM Front end. I could remove one of the shims but will try it, as is for now. Time to change, has to be weighed. Not a quick thing to change. Instruction were vague both with kit and this vid. I thought. But once ya commit ... just keep goin. Bike tracks truer, like it's on rails.

    I bought the progreesive monotube no. 31-2501. It says that it can be lowered up to 2 inch n my question is if I do not want to lower it can I use it at standard height aswell or the tube already comes lowered?

    Is it necessary to remove the front of the fairing?

  • @jackgentile2417
    @jackgentile2417 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm a little confused by this video. Great content but I have a question. In the start of the video you remove fairing, then in the end you are re-installing the forks but the fairing is back on?? Does the fairing have to come off? I have a 2017 Road Glide

      The fairing does not have to be removed. You will have to remove the ignition/lower dash to access the top of the forks.

    Do we need fork seals as well while we assemble this catridge kit?

    • @ruthlessinu626
      @ruthlessinu626 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you’re taking it completely apart, then why not. I only have 20K miles on mine and I think they recommended 50K to swap out for new seals. So I’m just gonna replace the oil after I drop in these monotubes. Not even replacing my drain bolt washers. Just wrap some thread seal tape, and snug it up.

    I just installed the standard height 31-2500 and it sits a lot lower than the standard Harley springs.I should have left it alone.

      How many spacers did you use?? I'm getting ready to install these. It looks like preload spacers should be on the heavy side.

    These are garbage, says has 3 clips for each side, 2 recommended, but my kit only came with 4 clips so went 1 on each side & brake dives just like stock. What a waste of time & money

      Sounds like you might want to add another spacer??Complain about not having enough clips and then only use one on each side??Installer error.

    Probably a great product but I despise companies that pull this crap like you do on your website. I selected my bike, and up came
    Fork Mono Tube Kit Standard. $287.00 As soon as you select Standard Kit the price jumps to $459....And If I want the 1" lowering kit the price is $505.00 Great way to do busiess....Won't buy your product ever.
