Forgot to point it out in the video, but the Jazz 16 is actually SB16 compatible. Not sure why I thought it wasn't... you'd think the fact that it has 16 in it's name would make it kinda obvious that it's supported. I was probably getting it confused with some other card.
Also, if you guys want more footage of the machine playing games or doing benchmarks let me know. I'll make a simple follow up video to this, probably just using video capture.

"It's just fun". Yup, that sums up the same reason why I have built more than one Windows 98 machine. Just playing old games on it is fun, but building another similiar computer, setting it up and testing it is even more fun.

hi . nice vid ... its probably low on "conventional memory" not "total " memory . you need to optimise the driver & load " D.O.S." etc into "high memory " ... try running (memmaker) if it came with your version of "D.O.S." to optimise your autoexec.bat & config.sys files to get as much RAM free as you can .... Hope this helps....

So, it actually has quite a bit of conventional memory free. I can’t remember exactly how much, but it was like 609k or 619k free. So I don’t really think that’s the issue.

Hi! Has the CMOS battery held up even if disconnected from mains? I've been wrestling with my own 386 system, and I just can't seem to get the CMOS battery working, neither with a drop in barrel battery replacement nor via the external battery header. Btw, at least on my board, there's a jumper to choose between 3.6V and 6.0V external battery voltage. I've been trying to run with the 6.0V option having a 4x AA holder.

It's been holding up for me. I had it unplugged and switched off for several days now and it fired right up with no lost settings. Not sure how to help you really. Only thing I can think of would maybe be that someone accidentally hooked up 6v to it when it was set to 3.6v in the past and that damaged it somehow.

32 megs of ram will work for that period of gaming. Yes I am older and bought these new.
