My top 5 are the following: 5. Transformers One. The film is held back by a pretty weak first act, but when it picks up, it PICKS UP. Plus, it had one of the most powerful scenes in any movie I've ever seen, that being the whole "I'm done saving you" part. That made me gasp, despite me knowing that Megatron was going to become a villain. 9/10 4. Deadpool and Wolverine. The two stars have amazing chemistry, and I love seeing some returning stars such as Blade and Chris Evans as Human Torch, as well as some new ones like Channing Tatum playing Gambit. As a celebration of the Fox X-Men era, I couldn't imagine a better way to end it all, along with introducing the X-Men into the MCU. However, some scenes that were hyped up in the trailers like the Wolverine vs. Sabertooth fight, was very disappointing. 9.25/10 3. The Wild Robot. Ever since that first trailer came out, I knew it would go down as one of Dreamwork's best films of all-time, and I wasn't wrong at all. With such an inconsistent year, I am very glad this movie exists. They released Megamind 2 this year, which is probably my least favorite movie of all time, and an overhated Kung Fu Panda 4, the Wild Robot feels like everything they did right with Wall-E mixed with the concept of Migration. I really don't want to compare this movie to Migration, another Illumination movie, but I have to nonetheless. With stunning visuals, amazing performances by everyone in the movie, as well as a TON of funny moments that had me dying in the theater, there is no way this movie doesn't win the Oscar for best animated picture at least. Hopefully more though. My only nitpick is that the villain was sort of rushed. 9.5/10 2. The Fall Guy. This is an underrated and under appreciated masterpiece of an action movie. This film is a massive love letter for stunt doubles, and it really shows throughout the film. It is packed full of action, lots and lots of creativity, and an amazing cast of very talented actors. That leads me to my one nitpick: I cannot remember any of the characters names for the life of me. I have to call all of the characters by their actors names. Anyways, there were lots and lots of insane twists and creative action scenes. One that I distinctly remember is one where Ryan Gosling goes to a club and beats up a ton of guys wearing all neon clothes, it's really fun to watch. I might have to give this film a 10/10. Watch it now. 1. Sonic the Hedgehog 3. I am a massive Sonic fan, and seeing the best Sonic game being brought to life in movie form brought a tear to my eye. Me and my sister got the audience to cheer several times with several iconic moments. Won't go into spoilers, but be ready to get HYPED. And stick around for two insane post credit scenes afterwards, especially the mid credit scene. 13/10. Cannot wait for Sonic 4!
1. Inside Out 2 2. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 3. Moana 2 4. The Garfield Movie 5. Kung Fu Panda 4 6. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 7. If 8 Despicable Me 4 9. Bad Boys: Ride Or Die 10. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 11. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire 12. Deadpool & Wolverine 13. Gladiator II
Accurate tho I give the penguin0 meme to Romulus. I think that fits the film. Romulus is good but it’s no masterpiece. Also my favorite film would have to be Sonic 3.
My top 5: 1. Mufasa: The Lion King (this film is severely underrated but also since im a huge TLK fan and anything TLK interests me) 2. Sonic 3 (with all due respect towards the fans, please do not attack me, this film is pretty good tho) 3. Moana 2 (this film was decent, not the best tho) 4. Despicable Me 4 (Like Moana, it was also decent but it was slightly worse than Moana due to the excessive jokes) 5. Inside Out 2 (I feel like it’s just me but this film is a bit overrated, I feel like people liked it because it related to themselves since the audience was most likely teens or parents that had teens, which the film showed kinda what it’s like to go through puberty and stuff, but yea this wasn’t really my cup of tea, respect anyone who likes it though. )
Transformers one was my favorite I honestly was really excited to see civil war, but it didn't exactly meet my expectations. I wish there was a bit more action and I didn't like the soundtrack. 5.5/10
