Yeah, obvious stooges, despite Colin claiming he didn't use any. Means Penn was also in on it. They know each other from Vegas. It's not a good trick if there's really only one way to do it.

I was picked at his show in Denver. It’s very easy to see how he does everything. I was given a notecard with three choices. Once I picked my choice, he made it seem magical that he had written in a book before the show. It was a canned choice.

I've been to multiple live shows and there's a soft toy that is thrown amongst the audience. Whoever catches it goes on stage. They can't be a stooge... they randomly caught the soft toy.

I was picked at one of his shows, can confirm none of this is staged. I was around age 15/16 and obviously never interacted with him before
By far one of the best magic performer I have seen. How did he do that?
Well, the mini chalkboard might not be what it seems. It could be a tablet disguised as a chalkboard and it's also connected to another device which has a word typing app used by a helper to write whatever that is needed for the whole act. Putting it simply, the prediction was written in the device connected to the chalkboard tablet after David said the name and the associated word which is done in a short time. If you noticed, he never show the front side of the board when he erased it the first time which might support my assumption.
The prediction with the audience was a bit easier. He claimed that there are 20 gold confettis among the confettis that was launched at the audience. Well, the probability of even one of them to land on someone or be picked up is too low since they could've landed in a spot which is very difficult to see or reach by the audience's arms or it could be buried under a huge pile of confettis. So, the only probable explanation for this to work is that there are none of those gold confettis except for the one that he gave to Penn and the two from the chosen audience who is actually in on the trick.
As for Penn's random choice of audience, i'm not quite sure. I think Colin could've used a psychological trick by using someone who Penn would most likely choose or someone who would stand out to be chosen no matter who does the choosing. Like, a pretty woman, an energetic/enthusiatic person, or someone with a particular outfit.
Edit : You know, i'm starting to doubt that he used a fake chalkboard because whenever he write, i can't distinguish whether it was a real sound of the chalk stroking the board or just sound of tapping on touchscreen.
@@joshuaamadeusishak1887 As someone who is a bit familiar with mentalism techniques, I can assure you that there are no stooges involved. There is no need to, because all can be achieved with standard techniques. Penn and the judges are also not in on it. The presentation is great though, and although it probably won't fool Penn, it is a very enjoyable act.

@@Avo7977 There is a book called "13 Steps to Mentalism" by Corinda, which is usually recommended as the place to start. "The Artful Mentalism series" by Bob Cassidy is also often recommended. You can also watch Richard Osterlind's videos which are great for learning.
