I was just there yesterday. Looks more like the movie now, but there'd be no chance of you having the time to pull off this absolutely stellar recreation. Nice job. Forgot to mention: recreating Van Cleef's cut off finger tip was a great touch
@@DevanAGScott Not busy, no. But consistent. When I got there a German tv station was trying to stiff a local guide up in a park g area. There were two guys down in the circle. I went off to the higher part of the ring and they were gone in fifteen. I had about 45 minutes to myself in the center. But there was a steady trickle of folks. Nobody asking for money. No one renting out serapes
Aww man so 😎 cool. Guy's that weren't even alive showing such interest in this movie to reinacte this scene is great. I was 6 Year's old when my Dad and I saw this in the theater. My favorite western of all time. And in later year's finding out it was filmed in Spain made it so much more intriguing. The music score to this movie is still number 1.
This is totally worth watching because of the background matching, then and now. I applaud the effort that went into this ,uh,masterpiece! A big thank you! I do wonder what it must have cost to build this huge cemetery?.
its crazy how hills and the land dont change in 50 years. (No, that's actually pretty normal, of course the backgrounds would match, what's wrong with you Samantha?)
..never ending MAGNIFICENT story, music and motion pictures always taking me back to my boyhood days in the 70s and first days of cinema in the Galilee Israel..
..deeply moving.. love it..takes everyone to the golden days of westerns of the 70s when we were too young going to the cinema with our older brothers to see these fantastic motion pictures
VERY nicely done. It is interesting to see what the difference between the really wide lens used to shoot the film and your not-as-wide lens does for the feel of the movie. I know a lot of work went into this, and now it is because of your video that I know Lee Van Cleef was missing the tip of his middle finger on his right hand. I never noticed that before. Very well done guys.
1:53 Nice video, but that's a huge mistake Angel Eyes would never make: turn his back to Tuco. In the original movie he turns his back to Blonde, he knew Blonde would never shoot a man on his back. As for Tuco, also known as The Rat...
What an observation!! Yess! Blondie would never do that and people would know it too ! One of the many things to love blondie and by the extension Clint 😀😀👍🏼👍🏼
I disagree with your statement that Tuco would shoot a man in the back. He had the chance to when he trapped Blondie when he came in through the back window of the hotel.. Blondie was no saint either.
Bravo! Well done gentlemen. When I was a kid back in the 70's, my best friend and I also talked about heading to Sad Hill to recreate the last scene. We talked about it from time to time until his passing 10 years ago. It was our favorite movie. And we never made it. I'm heading there in a few weeks with my family and nephews. The number one thing on our trip is recreating the final scene. I have something to shoot for now! Touche!
@@bigdogpr well, maybe on another occasion! I dont know if you are aware but since the shooting of this video an association of locals has worked on the cemetery and they've completely brought it back to how it looked in the movie. If you are interested maybe you can look up the documentary they made about the reconstruction, its called "Unearthing Sad Hill"
ed tyler it was good quality in the first place. It was film! Which still beats digital even HD. The problem is it's about £120 a minute to shoot it, you cant see the results until you process it and you don't get second chances. Unlike digital, which is free to shoot and unlimited in attempts. The original is better because craftsmen used film, as opposed to today any prat can use digital and rescue it later. Proof of the pudding is in eating as they say, look at the comparison.
So pleased I came across this vid. Just brilliant. My favourite film of all time. Liked and subbed. It must have taken a lot of skill to produce it. Well done lads.
Excellent work, really enjoyed this and appreciate all the time, effort, research and expertise you put into it. Great to see a few young guys getting out there and just doing something interesting and unusual rather than just wasting time messing about on one social media platform or another. Chapeau!
You definitely got it. Brilliantly done. I've always wanted to visit the site myself. I've heard that it has been now been restored by a group of fans.
A great interpretation! Just realized, i drove past the location with my family in the 70's as a kid. Santander, Burgos to Tarragona. The scenery is breathtaking and worth seeing for any traveller! Let's hope we can get back to travelling soon, R.I.P 2020. A good heading for a cross at Sad Hill cemetery!?
this is absolutely amazing. I watched it so many times. Also, you are so lucky to be able to have set foot in that cemetery where they filmed that. I am so jealous! Again, amazing job and thank you for making this.
Fantastic work, excellente muy bien bravo! I like how the guy who played Angel Eyes looked out for details such as lip licking and missing part of the finger very nice lol
Well done! I'll bet that was fun to do... lotta work, too. I enjoyed the van Cleef "chopped" finger, too. Nice touch. One thing that's harder to recreate is the faces and expressions of the original fine actors. RIP Eli and Lee.
I love the detail that went into it, like the finger from Angel Eyes. Everything looked almost perfect, except the faces. You cant imitate Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach and Lee van Cleef. Good try tho and the rest was magnificent
I missed the movie in my college days, saw it today after 51 years on tv.Wanted to know it's year of release and found this video.Amazingly synchronized movements at the same location.Great 👍
Very good Job. It was nice to see that on many different levels. The fact that the beautiful countryside is still virtually untouched. Great admiration for the beautiful cinematography on the original movie by a perfectionist. Im so glad that there are people like you doing stuff like this.
You think a fake cemetery is alot of work, think about the fake civil war battle! They had to build a damn bridge! TWICE! because someone blew it up on accident before they got the shot.
Imagine what they've had to go through, just to restore it! Too bad so many of us don't live in Spain. They would have had an unlimited supply of volunteers to help out, me thinks.
Oh this is brilliant guys. So expertly done, I was laughing, in a good way, you've done a superb job there. Like the Spaghetti Western Orchestra, funny and a very fine tribute to the original. I thought at the end you were all going to get your cameras up and shoot.
Hello to each other Thank you for the excellent re-enactment of this large film scene! For me, Clint Eastwood is and remains the greatest actor of all time. Many thanks to Clint and the other actors. I wish you all the best! Best Regards Raphael Wellig
thegrandfinale2 I was just thinking about this. The good- Blondie has his revolver in the ideal spot for a duel. The bad- Angel Eyes holster position is horrible, or bad for a duel. The ugly- I mean he has his revolver hanging by a rope, which is ugly.
I couldn't help but notice how the guy portraying Angel Eyes folded back the middle finger of his right hand. As I recall, Lee Van Cleef accidentally lost the tip of that finger while building a doll house for his little girl. Nice touch.
To all those that whine that the 'actors' in this are rubbish, think of it this way. They had great fun making this, visiting one of the most iconic locations in film history. I doubt it was made to make money, just 3 guys having fun. What were you doing as this was made? Liking someone on Facebook? Nose stuck in an iPhone all day? Get out there and get a life. Luckily I visited here in 2014, just before a group decided to restore the site. Silent with only birds for company, I saw 3 cars in around 4 hrs. Now the stone circle has been uncovered where music and film events are happening. A shame in a way though I will visit again someday.
I'm 45 years old and I still can't stop watching this movie
Many thanks for recreating one of the most memorable scenes in movie history!
That was pretty damned cool!
One of the best films, and arguably the best western ever made.
you talking about 50 years ago movie?
It’s the best western
Unquestionably the best western ever made
Wow, the production quality and matching of angles and timing was excellent.
The mountains and hills as well as Sad Hill will never change. They will be a part of movie history for eternity and for many future generations.
Very Nice Brilliant Performance, i have watched this movie unlimited times, i love each and every part of the movie...Great Music...
This movie is just like wine.... As soon as it's getting old it always good in taste
Great. On my bucket list to visit this site in future.
I love how he hid his finger to match Van Cleef's missing digit.
gheraioznvvv123456 I never noticed that. Wow.
I believe he cut the end of that finger off, building a tree house for his daughter.
PERFECT, right?!?!?!
I heard the same. Back then there was little regard for personal safety. My father's table saw would agree. Scary. @@timvandenbrink4461
Nothing to add, except it is one of the videos that made us go visit the site. Spain is a great country. The region has much more to offer.

Actually it was a double in the movie with the cut finger, not Lee Van Cleef. It was Sergio Leone's idea.
