Waze is really good in cities for local directions. I use Google satellite maps for searching destinations of upcoming trips, and then, Apple Maps for long distance driving to our RV'ing campground desitinations. Each has their own purpose and performance levels for use, depending on need. Use them all for your own best results!
All we need now is the option to plan to avoid ULEZ zones. Useful to the tiny portion of the population who still drive non compliant cars. My car is compliant, so it makes no difference to me. What annoys me most, is roadworks being announced just when I've joined the traffic jam. They need to update it so it can take reports into account and offer alternative routes in real time where possible (which I freely admit isn't always possible).
What they need is a way to have 1 tap to favorited items you want to report that’s persistent on the map screen. If I want to only report police sighting then I want it on the screen to tap. Instead of first tapping the + first then selecting the item I want to report

Amazing detail video question I know this is probably overreaching but I don’t see an option to report Sunclair. I guess that would just be any type of report of heavy traffic.
Sorry that was a misspell. I meant to say sun glare.

14:20 If there only would be an option to choose that you have a tralier or a caravan attached to your vehicle so that the eta calculation would use a lower top speed as you are not allowed to drive as fast on certain roads as if you would not have had the caravan back on your car.
Waze use in Android Auto is a pain. You cannot use it simultaneously on both car screen and on the phone. The full settings/options are not available in the car app. Actually it should just show the map on the car's display, while still controlled via the phone. Similarly, I would prefer searching destination and starting navigation to be used via the phone, then send to Android Auto. If it works in that way in future, then I can prefer Waze as daily driver, rather than Google Maps or the car's in built navigation.

As you say gas prices, I assume you're in the US. Petrol/diesel prices haven't changed in the UK for at least a month (at least not locally to me). I find Redditch has the lowest Petrol prices, currently £1.289 (Sainsbury A441 roundabout).
Unfortunately there's not a filter by cuisine, but you can type 'Chinese' or 'Korean', for example, into the search and it'll list businesses that match those keywords, including restaurants.
If you want to use this system in Eastern EU say in Bulgaria it will work ONLY regard names and places on the maps in the cyrillic alphabet, Google maps shows both Latin and Cyrillic. So, if its only Latin for you, don't bother to use it in B.G. Or Russia for example..
I have a pixel 8 Pro and I really want to give Waze a chance but it has a hard time finishing a sentence. Whether I use it wired or Wireless it is so choppy that it is an absolute distraction and more so an annoyance. I Don't have any issues whatsoever with Google Maps or magic Earth, for example.
@vischo I was excited to read your suggestion because it never dawned on me to try that. So I decided to try a few other voices including the default one and it's the same garbage. It starts off well and then almost immediately starts to become choppy again. I did read some posts on Reddit that suggest that it's the interference of Spotify, which I find absolutely ridiculous. I'm not going to stop playing Spotify just because I want to use Waze so Google Maps it is. Thanks for the suggestion though.
@@ItsMeThatDavidI’m sorry to hear/read that 😔 it means that your problem has a different cause. Have you tried rebooting and closing other apps? Or verifying that bluetooth is not paired to other devices at the time of using Waze? Thinking that it could be related to system resources
You should be able to swipe down from the top of your phone to access the shade notification. Then you can tap on 'Exit'. Or you will have to swipe up from the bottom of the screen from the edge of the phone screen and close the app by holding your finger on Waze and swiping up manually. Hope that helps!
does waze say turn right on ELM street? or just says turn right? also it won't say 'destination is on the 'left' or the right? i think only google maps navi has these features which makes it the best and most accurate as well..rest r garbage
Only the first four English options in the settings under 'Voice & Sound'>'Waze Voice' will include the detailed street names for turns. The other voice options are not as comprehensive unfortunately.

I really enjoyed your explanation of the Waze. It has many excellent ideas that making a trip more enjoyable. Thanks !
7:36 thank you. I’ve been trying to figure out how to add a stop for ages to the point where I stopped using Waze!
Great video thanks 👍🏻
Love Waze, only missing vehicule sizes, like for van, truck, campers etc…
Thank you - a great intro for a novice to CarPlay

Hi, do you plan to add vehicle size, hight and weight to the app? It would be nice for bigger cars like sprinter and camper.
I'd love to see Google add the feature myself.
You'd need to ask Waze's developers that, not someone simply explaining the app 😊

I agree. It’s a nightmare. Often the passenger wants to alter something but Waze assumes it’s the driver breaking the law
Same with the iPhone. It’s less safe than just letting it happen…..
Das kommt doch immer auf den Hersteller das jeweiligen Autors an.

What about VOICE commands to report Incident/Police/Etc. ?
There is an update coming so I thought I'd revisit when the feature launches.
When you change the car icon, why does it revert to an arrow after like a week or so? Is there a way to keep your icon selection?
I haven't experienced this problem but it occurred to me that maybe it reverts back to an arrow after an update for some people.
Mine hasn't changed. It's still a little blue car, matching my blue Toyota Aygo.😂
Unfortunately the gas prices in Waze are not updated regularly. Also, I wish they add a filter for Cuisine Type in Food.

Prices are to be updated by end users at the fuel station to make it live and accurate
Is there a way to ask Waze to find a type of restaurant along the route?

The two problems I find with Waze are I can’t set a waypoint via the map and I can only set one waypoint
🚫 I won’t use Waze until they implement the feature to use a satellite map (aerial map), like Google Maps navigation does.
You’re missing out on the most powerful sat nav app by doing that
@ LOL! I use Google Maps for my navigation, via Apple CarPlay. 👍🏻

Yessir. I like to limit personal information and for some of these videos it's hard to avoid in the footage.

That's a mysterious bug, especially if other apps are seamless in terms of the streaming. Do you experience the same issue with Google Maps?
@@HowToDoItTech I do not. On the same drive I can switch over to Google maps or even magic earth and experience no issue.
Have you tried different voices in Waze? It happens to me sometimes but just with some voices while others work flawlessly

All this vehicles must be online
It's a shame that "single track roads" was removed.
WHAT ABOUT a feature that gives you hight / width / length of car, van, caravan, etc restrictions
Has it gt that feature ?
No, look at magic earth instead
Suggest to waze HQ

😂 Waze now using several voices simultaneously. Not sticking to voice as set. A curious bug I think. Have reported to Waze support.

I don’t want gas I want petrol
Makes sense. I wasn't sure if it'll change based on region.
Gas powered cars sound cool and possibly dangerous. I wonder what sort of gas they use, helium would be fun if it sprung a leak.
only online, not really up to date!
Do you mean you're missing streets or roads on your map?
@@HowToDoItTech No, I mean it can only be used online.
That’s so that it can call on crowdsourced data for live reports of accidents, traffic, police etc.

It depends on the voice you pick. You'll recognize them because you can see the voice name and then "(including street names)"
Only the first four English options in the settings under 'Voice & Sound'>'Waze Voice' will include the detailed street names for turns. The other voice options are not as comprehensive unfortunately.
@@vischo ah, thnx i didn't know that! will it say ur destination will be on the right or the left as well?
@@kleptodathief3946it will if you mark a destination clearly on one side of the street, or if you provide street name with the number of the address
Waze GPS is now slow and inaccurate making the App near useless!
Just out of curiosity, which country do you live in? I've seen other similar comments in the past
GPS data in the app comes from your device and not the app.
Would love to use waze, but until they change distance to yards from feet, I'll continue to use Google maps.
That’s short sighted and you’re missing out on the power of crowdsourcing traffic issues
Shame you have music in the background 👎
Thanks for the feedback. What is it about the music you didn't like?
@ it’s not needed and as you talk quite fast your voice was lost in the background and hard to follow
