Jansen BX-62RS Tractor Mounted Chipper / Shredder (Subtitled in English)

The Jansen BX-62RS is a top class wood shredder. Its hydraulic feed makes working with this machine a real pleasure. There is no need to push, etc. with this model; the 2 large feed rollers do it all by themselves. The speed of the feed rollers can be infinitely varied. This is important to adjust the infeed speed to the diameter of the shredded material. Smaller diameters can be fed in faster than larger diameters. Should the feeder still block, it can be switched to reverse mode via the large bracket on the hopper. Furthermore, the feeder can also be switched off via this bracket. It is supplied by the tractor's hydraulics; a pressure feed and a pressureless return or a double-acting control valve are required. For the operation of the infeed rollers a litre capacity from approx. 10 l/min. is sufficient.
The latest version of the BX-62 - the BX-62 RS, has a suspension of the feed rollers on both sides and a reinforced feed hopper. There are similar versions of this shredder available at lower prices, which however do not have these improvements. In this case, the feed rollers may be bent and bearing damage may occur, as they are only suspended on one side and one side of the rollers hangs freely. Some competitors also sell their shredders as BX-62, although they are of different types. So please check competitor offers carefully if necessary.
The wood chipper is supplied complete with power take-off shaft. The PTO has a shear pin on one side, which for safety reasons serves as a predetermined breaking point in the event of blockages or overloads. This means that even larger tractors with more than 100 HP can be used without any problems. They should have at least an engine power of 30 HP available. The power take-off speed must be 540 rpm.
The hopper has a 63.5 x 63.5 cm opening at the top; at the bottom the opening measures 16.5 x 30.5 cm. A maximum diameter of 16.5 cm can be shredded. Many competitors specify the maximum shredded material diameter equal to the dimensions of the lower filling opening, but this specification is unrealistic and can trigger the safety mechanism in the PTO. Softer woods can be shredded with a width of up to 25 cm if necessary, but such thicknesses are usually processed into firewood and are not shredded.
The build quality of the BX-62RS is very solid! The material thicknesses of the sheets used are 10 and 12 mm in the load-bearing area, 4 and 6 mm at the funnels and non-load-bearing parts. If necessary, compare these thicknesses with competitor models, because they often try and save on manufacture costs at this point!
For transport, the funnel can be folded up very easily and secured with a cotter pin. To make folding up easier, the shredder has 2 shock absorbers.
The machine is very easy to maintain; by loosening just one screw you can open the complete flywheel cover and have access to the 4 cutting blades. These cutting knives have blades on both sides so that they can be easily turned if necessary. The flywheel has a dead weight of 95 kg and has attached wings, which create a very strong pull, which finally blows the shredded material out through the discharge hopper. Due to this very strong draft, clogging of the shredder is almost impossible.
The discharge funnel has a height of 220 cm (plus the lifting of the lower link) and can be turned 360 degrees. On request, we can also supply a 50 cm extension to the discharge hopper. This makes it easy to fill the shredded material onto tractor trailers or directly into big bags. The ejection angle can also be changed. The BX-62RS throws the shredded material up to 10 metres away!
The shredder is designed for 3-point suspension and can be used from Cat. 1 can be used.
