It took me you pointing it out to realise there are no deadweights at cov1. Really cool run, first time I've seen forever consumed be this insanely good ! It has such a cool animation too, love that card
Great job on the run. It is nice to see you play a different style than your usual. The circumstance of low covenant and need for fast kills encourages to play those "brittle" burst comps. There is a reason why there are so many people failing along the way for those runs. They either misread the situation, don't spend money for more score, or just try to eke out the perfect rng to aim for top spot, playing way riskier. That and I doubt that there are that many players who have a huge amount more experience than you. So even if this is not your preferred style of playing, so called "balls to the walls" kind of playing, you got enough game knowledge to generally know "oh yea, this wins in higher covenants" and getting damage less runs that go past divinity already are a big base amount. So I think the main way you could eke out a bit more score is to maybe accept some losses here and there, or well, risk losses, testing how much money you can leave on the table, or what kind of risks yo can take with draw, now that the deck is so much smaller and more consistent. of course only if you like, want to be the very best, like only a few people ever... were. The song breaks down. But yeah! Great run, great score! Was fun to watch.
I think my current goal of aiming for top 10 is a healthy approach to this series. I really enjoy the part of the run where I look at the #1 player and go "well heck I would never have thought of that," though. It gets me thinkin'!
You totally had a pre-relentless on daedalus on your first run through... you just needed drop Solgard from top floor to the middle and then zap the boss with Titan's Gratitude. :)
dude. Apologies! I didn't mean last weeks comments to be "brutal". Apparently Scottish brevity comes across as harsh. 😞anyway, you beat me this week - my remove-consume, spellchain furnace-tap soulgard was too slow! Does anyone really cheese the run by playing it twice? that's dull. I always play the run before I watch your video - it's fun to see what different choices we make. This and trainwreck are must watch for me. Monstertrain is still awesome after all these years. It is a near perfect game.
I think I have the same problem on these. I can get decentish scores and finish, but I have a hard time getting the massive scores. I think I'm not good at recognizing what can deal with damage super quickly.
One voice out of many, I'm not a huge fan of the frequent rerolls. For specific things, sure, but now it feels a bit much. Especially because it's not about "correct" plays but about just getting the RNG to line up. Fixing a clear misplay? Sure. Gaming the RNG? Meh. My $0.02, still enjoying the uploads!
Yeah, I don't particularly love it either admittedly. I feel like it makes for a more interesting video, but it is pretty abusive. My scores will definitely go down without it, though. I'll bring it up as a topic for discussion next week!

Genius! Bah why didn't I think of it.

It was a good comment! Made me really think about how to get better haha. No hard feelings for sure.

i ended up this run with 5 spell chain deep offerings
I’m wondering if you’d dropped the mollusk mages middle if you could’ve finagled the prerelentless.
Hrm, maybe so upon rewatch.
You very nearly maxed out the bar of artifacts thanks to that mutator. I'm curious what happens if you overflow it.
I think it gets a down arrow, for another slot of artifacts, that you have to scroll to.
It gets a right/left arrow scrollbar, actually!
Interesting to know! Not something that comes up very often.

I feel this is kinda unjustified in a way imo dusk has a right to choose what is and isn't worth a redo
Well we have a right to like or dislike it
