Lsv I'm assuming this was recorded in OBS, check to make sure you have the correct encoder on. Namely once the animations are on screen I see a lot of stuttering. It obviously doesn't take away from the video since you verbally go over each play. But the stutter is a bit weird at points.
It seems to me like Pitiless Pontiff was more valuable than the Catacomb Crocodile, especially knowing your opponent just brought back a big brick wall like Archway Angel. Pontiff lets you force trades on your terms, and could have been good for grinding through a clogged up board.
LSV love the video. I've been playing since antiquities, and recently I've been itching to take my game to a more competitive level, and you LR podcasts have been amazingly helpful. Your admission in episode #470 that when you started drafting, you weren't very good at first to seeing you now has given me the drive to learn everything I can. Keep it up man, you are awesome!
Love the arena drafts for current stuff and mtgo for cube or flashback. Opponent was playing around you have dead revels or Kayas and having drawn 4 with jugglers meant you decked first. Would also guess they had z justicars left as well so no way to die to damage.
In last game, seemed like the Pontiff was a better target for Dead Revels than the second Juggler. You knew opp had 3/4 Angel that blanked your board. Pontiff is pretty much your only card that could push damage.
3 weeks late but yes...was thinking the exact same thing. He got greedy going for the 2 jugglers I think. Though with opp's high life total and bigger board it might not have mattered.
I understand the purpose and advantages of drafting bots, but the unfortunate side effect is when you don't draft against people it's way too common for everyone to draft the same things, especially since all the best Orzhov cards are commons. Every time I do a draft of this set I see either Orzhov or gates every game. Literally every game. It's not fun at all getting bell haunted and grasping thrulled constantly.
Rarity has 0 impact on how bots draft. They draft based on an internal ranking on pick order calculated by players pickorders. If a colour has the best commons in any set, this will impact player drafting in general. The biggest downside to the bot is that if you have alot of first pickable cards in pick 1 or 2 from ONE colour, the bots will very very likely move into that colour. And they do not switch once theyre locked in. In other words, you will be screwed pack 2. On the upside its pretty gamable once you get a good feel for it.

My point was that since you're not drafting against other humans, there isn't 8 people fighting for the best cards in a pod, and there isn't any punishment for trying to pick the same colors as a couple other people, even if those colors are the strongest in the pool, like you get with a real draft. When you're drafting against bots instead of other humans, those other humans have their own pools they're getting orzhov cards from, so they're not fighting you. The end result is a bunch of people who drafted Orzhov and gates all playing against each other. It's incredibly boring and a toss up whether you win or not. I haven't seen a deck other than one of those two in the past 6 or 7 drafts I've done. And speaking of gaming bots, they seem to not value gates or their payoffs at all, so it's extremely easy to have a borderline standard level gate deck.

From what ive seen from most major streamers, orzhov isnt as dominantly present as you make it out to be. First, lets assume you compare it to modo and events. Any strong archetype will be over-represented if matchmaking works properly, and you will have the same amount of recurring decks you see now. This is bot un-related. Second, lets say you are correct, and players do draft Orzhov disproportionately. This would mean the bots would catch on, and start drafting Orzhov commons over other guilds uncommons/rares. Meaning in the long run, if players adjust, the guilds representation shifts again. Third, and honestly maybe one of the most important factors. Alot of the 'big names' have said from the start of Allegianc that orzhov was the best guild. This often has the result that the 'lesser players' will be nighed to Orzhov even if the draft was not suited for it. Personally I have fallen into the same trap, and I had two very mediocre orzhov decks where gruul or simic would have been the far superior choice in my draft position.
Because if people are quiet nothing changes? CFB are the directly chosen partner of WoTC. They are at the forefront of MtG content. Their content needs to be smooth. This is not.
I've played Arena on two PCs. One with an GTX1070 Graphics card, all maxed. Everything runs smooth. The other one is running the iGPU on 720p and low and it was still not playable. To me this means you need a low-mid teir gaming PC if you want to play arena and record at the same time. I would not guess that is something a person who is not a PC gamer is sitting on. I would instead assume many people are playing on laptops or "office" PCs.
Every game you lost you lost to fliers. Most of the damage you got through in every game was from fliers. That defender enchantment that removes flying probably would have been good.
I like Arena but I can really only watch it on twitch because of the overlay. I haven't really been invested in this set and I don't know a lot about what the cards do. It's difficult to watch on youtube because of this. I wish you guys did MTGO too.

It's a shame Arena doesn't show any card text on cards in play. Makes it more difficult to just look and read a board state. Much worse than MTGO for viewing.
The cards are too small to read in MTGO videos/streams anyhow. In Arena the art is made more prominent, which is what a LOT of players recognize cards by.
Lol you played this so badly, practice more drafting on Arena, maybe its the platform or something But you didnt even consider Skewer the Critics when you had 2 gates on red, nor Senate Gryffin (maybe hybrid escaped you), nor clear the stage (when you were a bit lacking on removal), nor Dovin on a splash you ended up getting (this one was less your fault, but taking a 2 drop instead of speculating on a far more powerful card was kinda dubious) Or maybe the format was just early idk, just dint feel that LSV expertise this one draft

@@brandantreadway81 Cost is not a major factor in my mind. Playing on either is a handful of dollars total after payouts. MTGO's payouts are also in a form that is more easily convertable to drafting more (cards can be sold for tickets).

I play MTGA on a 5-year-old Walmart HP laptop. The animations looked normal to me.
