To the Brigade of Gurkas - I thank you for your sterling service, to-day and always. Dherai Asivada (many blessings).
It's 'aashirvaad' 😊

Some of the best soldiers anywhere in the world
it doesn't even hurt my British ego calling these lads the best. truly loyal, smart and courageous fighters

Thank you for your service, and looking after our lovely Queen.
Thank you for your brave and courageous contribution to the british armed forces you are a credit to your parents. God bless you all.
Gurkas are always absolutely immaculate! Congratulations to them on what it surely a very proud moment.
Gurkhas are rare breed. Loyal and committed and willing to served anyway. Fierce warriors.
Its the family that encourages gurkhas to join British army . Once they join its their legacy , pride and history that encourage them to be a humble and fierce . Jay Gurkha 🖖
sadly in India to be a President gaurd the troops are fom Para SF regiment and have to be a Sikh , Jatt or Rajasthani Rajput (Paharis(Kumaon , Himachal , Purvanchal , Garhwali) and purabiyas(UP , Bihar , MP) rajput don't count as rajput for now) .
but then all regiments get equal respect . One of my friend now in army said that to be a officer in gorkha regiment , the ones need to be in top 10 of graducating batch .
@@abhinavs4326 In india also Gorkhas used to guard PM but due to little conflict between Indra Gandi and Nepali King. She replaced her guard with sikh for security purpose
The Ghurkas are here. All is well.
Fiercest of fighters, smartest of drill and the most courteous of men.
Fiercest of fighters? I don't think so lmao

I'm glad they are on our side.............
They must feel both honoured and proud to have been chosen to guard Her Majesty the Queen...
Lmfao im cryin
Utmost respect for these elite warriors. I had the pleasure to see the Gurkhas on guard in London yesterday. 😀😀
We are very fortunate to have the Gurkhas!
Oh,yeah for sure. I know soldiers that have served with them and they have all said that its better to be on their side than against them. You don’t want to be on the other side. Our country is fortunate to have them on our side and they should be treated far better than our government treats them.
@@patrickhosking8283, how does the Govt badly treat them?

Absolute gentlemen, the epitome of politeness and smartness.
Fierce, brave and skilled soldiers.
A Gurkha is worth 10,000 Taliban!
Nope
@@pratik11-v7x You’re right, a taliban is not worth an old dog!
I have the greatest respect for the Gurkhas.
I have served with these guys and belive me they are the best,
and I would have them at my back any time, proper soldiers ! and many became good friends
same in India . India too has a Gurkha Rifles regiment but then the officer cadre is mostly from Mainland India .
Indian army has a regiment culture which leads that soldiers are once given a regiment and they stay till they retire . The enlisted or Jawans as we call are from the race that regiment represent, for eg National Gurkha Rifles only gurkhas who have enlisted from nepal or India can join . it gets different like in Madras Infantry Regiment anyone from the 4 states in southernmost india can join as both jawan and Officer .
Officers , are selected after a examination and they go to officer academies after which they get commissioned as Lieutnant . If they go for infantry , then they are allowed to chose a rifle regiment or a SF regiment . There lot of officer cadets give Gorkha , Sikh or Kumaon as these regiments have made Indian army (including British Indian army till 1947) a force to be reckoned with . Lot of Sikhs become officers thanks to literacy and culture of joining so mainly join the Sikh regiments as officers . Gurkhas are the only troops who are recruited from outside India (a quite few even live in India but stil) so the officers are chosen . like our best field marshal Sam Manekshaw was from gorkha rifles . Same goes for the previous general Bipin Rawat who was from Gorkha Rifles . The nest one was Mukund Naravane who was from Sikh regiment and the next gen pande who is now is from a sapper / Engineer regiment (the Bombay engineering group previously Royal Bombay Engineers)
I wanted to join Indian Navy as officer so I researched these but then I was not medically fit so I just went to Uni and now working in UK lol .
Gorkhas are really shown as brave yet meek soldiers . Sikhs and marathas are shown as Kinda dominating and loud still brave troopers . Gorkhas are himalayan people . they share similarities with some Indian hill folk too .
Gorkhas after service in Indian Army can stay in India and get Indian citizenship (they get citizenship once in army ) so we do have a few . India defends Nepal even though no treaty is there as they are our brothers . I have seen Kashmiri miscreants run on seeing gorkhas while on my trip there
Fun fact: the only ground troops who didn't look cold in the Falklands War were Ghurkas.
Thanks a lot. For respect.
Always loved the Gurkhas
Ghurkhas , one if not the most highly respected fighting forces in the world . Held in the absolute highest esteem by Britain , hence the seal of royal approval from her majesty queen elizabeth . .
Oh yessssss, I’m coming to central to see them
Wait putting the Gurkha to defend her majesty......are we expecting an attack or something seems over kill lol
There are always H.M. Forces guarding The Queen at Buckingham Palace and Windsor, and it's an honour for a unit to be the guard. The honour goes to the Ghurkas during the Jubilee.

Imagine if the whole Gurkhas regiment deployed on the frontlines.
Maybe start paying them fairly as their British counterparts.
Really ? I heard in India they pay same salary for every jawan / enlisted . It is sad they don't get the same pay as whites . Anyway , love from a south Indian .
@@abhinavs4326 it took a entire campaign to finally allow a WW2 Victoria Cross Gurkha Veteran to be allowed to settle in UK after rejecting his application multiple times.
@@abhinavs4326 in India we already have Nagas , garwahli , gukhas and some other tribes . Very rare Nepali come to India as gorkhas
@@orekiok8939 lol every year india takes 2000 nepali(gorkhas) from Nepal. And there are 32,000 nepali in gorkha and 49,000 in other regiments as well including gorkha. And about 1.2 lakh plus are in paramilitary, reserves military and active military
@@pratik11-v7x I agree but kabhi North East Jake dekh . India mein bhi small villages hai jidhar gorkhas rehte hai and they join army . Like Nagas , garwahli etc
More loyal to the crown than most of Britain
Proud to be British 🇬🇧
But gurkhas are Nepalese
Finally the honour they deserve
For every successful candidate to join the Gurkha's there are dozens and dozens that didn't make it.
The standard is so high that only the very best get to wear the badge...... BTW the origin of the regiment began when the British expeditions in their country ( no matter how large) never got passed the ferocious fighting men of the region...... just think about it, the empire that defeated and colonised 20% of the world population, asked these men to fight for them...... not France,Spain, Portugal Russia, Austria...,..no ,those empires they beat......so it's no wonder the British military hold them high in respect and pride to have them with us
same in India .
What are Gurkhas roles in modern day British army? Light infantry? Special forces? Support only units? Artillery groups?
Light infantry.
i love gurkha
