  • While driving Crusty recently, I looked down to check my speed and was going NO miles per hour. So, obviously Crusty was forcing me to schedule more camera time for him.
In this installment, I'll break down how I diagnosed where the speedometer failure was and how I got working again.
Hope you find the video entertaining, informative and helpful.
As always, a heap o' thanks goes to the folks at ToyotaVanTech.com as well as the enthusiasts in the Toyota Van FaceBook Groups. There's always lots of support and encouragement from those lovely people.
Until the next one pleasant travels.
Oh, by the way, here are the part numbers for what I ordered from Frankfort Toyota online:

Jocko Moto yeah. Pretty funny and an appropriately useful word when dealing with our older vehicles. Lots of stuff goes Kaput, all the time. Ha!

you definitely want to make sure your washers and seals are good aske me how I know after I had ATF wind up inside the cluster or in your case transfer gear oil is what you would have if it leaks

      Good Advice.
I've checked since doing the job and all is sealed up and dry.
So... so far, so good. I'll def be grabbing that seal for the Speed-O-Cable connection as soon as possible.

Hi Victor. Yes, I got all the parts online. I’ll be editing the commentary below the video with the part numbers and descriptions.
I’ve heard others say the speedometer cables themselves are no longer available, although I’ve not researched it yet.
That being the case, if you find one in a parts yard, the speedo cable would be good to put on the pull list.
