This episode... The first half of season 3 is some of the greatest TV ever put to screen. Ron Moore and company having the absolute BALLS to take these episodes where they went and give it to us straight took a TON of courage.

The absolute hell we went through emotionally over Geeta in this episode! Such good writing

Richard Hatch is great. So glad they brought him back for the new BSG.

The Chief really felt that. Jammer was his kid in a sense, he was working at his department, part of his "deck gang" and if you remember he went to Adama to speak up for one of them when he lied for him.
This episode is so good and it is really dark. Executing people without a trial based on 6 votes is really bad, especially when all 6 of them suffered the atrocities by the hand of the enemy. If they wanted to be fair with this in any way they would've chosen people who were aboard the ships during the occupation.
Super solid acting from a lot of people here. That scene between Starbuck and Anders was amazing, Jammer before he got spaced, the Chief and Gaeta in the launch tube, Gaius and Caprica 6. Good damn Tricia Helfer is absolutely stunning and the way she looked at Baltar conveyed so much emotion, that scene was great.
Such good writing in this episode, once again laser focused on the character drama and twisting the story so well. Love this season.

@@732ReviewCrew yep, same kid. It was very personal for Chief. Not only that he was part of his crew but Jammer let go another one of the same crew who is just happen to be his wife now. These events really gutted him and you will see the effects later. Like I said, the damage on the ship and the people is persistent. :)

I have told people that along with Breaking Bad this is one of my favorite series because of the complexities of the storyline. Moral and ethical dilemmas sprinkled in with very human story lines. Nearly perfect

In addition to what I says on patreon last episode New Caprica is gonna be hugely impactful especially the rest of this season. Also, Cylon stuff is gonna ramp up. You’ll see what I mean.

Seems like he again forgot that adama didn't get sick along with the cylon guy at the beginning, in the weapon storage depot from that nebula radiation affecting only cylons. Thus, adama can't be a cylon.

Such a great episode! Complex characters with strained relationships with each other.
No black or white, lots of shades of grey.
I always thought that the reason Starbuck started kicking and harassing Gaeta was she didn't really want to be part responsible for his death and wanted him to repeat what he'd told her to the others and that's what ultimately led to his survival.
There are some stand alone episodes coming up guys but are all good decent episodes

Such a terrific well-written, well-acted episode. Enjoyed your discussion. Not a fun episode for me, more upsetting & aggravating but totally realistic. A jury of their peers but some so traumatized that it was more an exercise in revenge. Hard to watch Tigh and Starbuck being so damaged.

  • @screamr2d2
    @screamr2d2 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

The fact that Zareck handpicked some of THE angriest, most biased motherfrakkers in the fleet for his tribunal just goes to show the aim was never fairness. He picked the people he'd get the easiest "Yes"'s from. If he was truly trying to help Laura into peacetime, it wouldn't feel so wrong to watch. That tribunal should have been as neutral as possible. I love Laura so much for that blanket pardon. That could not have been easy, and in fact was a much braver solution than back alley executions.

'Everyone is entitled to a trial by law.'-Madame President Airlock Tosser. A great real life look at this kind of situation is the history of the Jersey Islands off the coast of France. They are British islands which were occupied by the Germans in WW2. A small population over lorded by the Nzis, some wanting to resist, afraid to resist, trying to resist, others collaborating some out of fear, others out of opportunity, others out of belief. All too many out of a mix of all of the above because there was no way out of the situation. The uneasy silence that prevailed after the war on the islands over those issues is very much like the issues drawn out in this episode. Sometimes the only answer is to let go of the past because what is just is impossible to decide.

Those that Laura threw out an airlock have been cylons. Cylons are not people. At least that was her thought process at the beginning. Without seeing their humanity it’s very easy to act like they have none. Just like the Pegasus crew did. The more we and the crew see and interact with cylons the more we see them as individuals capable of pain and joy instead of a “crome toaster”

@@richardwallis9374 Hence what makes Olmos's thought that Blade Runner is a good follow up the BSG so accurate. The problem doesn't rest on whether the AI says no rather on how we the creators react to that no.
