    Man the whisky reviews tonight are phenomenal!!! Have never tried Springbank, but beginning to think I should put it on my list in the new year. Great video Rob.

      Wow Robert, That's a fine confession. Go and buy one. They are a special distillery with a very distinct style. The core range is very fine and a great place to start - Springbank 10/Hazelburn 10/Longrow Peated. I have to say that in the crazy world of modern whisky Springbank offer a reminder of something 'old school'.

    The 2019 Longrow 21 sounds delicious stuff Rob. I always come and take a look what you think of the SB/Longrow bottles. Unbelievably, I got won a ballot yesterday for the LR 21 (2022), and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. These bottles are becoming more and more rare, so I feel very fortunate (even though it's a very expensive bottle, I live in England so I don't get hit with tax like you guys!). Cheers Rob!

      Can only imagine how good that one will be with the kinks ironed out by now. Enjoy John. Let me know your thoughts when you try it.

    I know these might be nice Rob but consider your ever depleting pension pot. Is the 21 year old worth twice the price of the 18? That's my problem when we get to that age. Even the 18 year old's are a bit of a splurge when you consider how good the Springbank core range and 12 year cask strength are.Thanks for the review though and sharing your thoughts on the Society bottles too.

      The 21 is definitely not worth the price unless you are a huge Springbank guy and have to try it. I think the jump from Springbank 18 to 21 is much more justifiable than the Longrow 18 to 21. If I could get Springbank 12, hazelburn 14 and Longrows below 13 years at the prices I usually get them all day every day, I'd likely retire from Whisky in the 6 and just enjoy those whiskies.
      In all seriousness, you are 100% correct here WT.

    Rob, you still have that Longrow 21? How did you find it, when it eventually opened up. I found this bottle needed time, a decent amount, went from great to incredible!

      Thanks brother. I did a head to head not too long ago with the Hazelburn 13 vs 14. Both delicious. Merry Christmas to you and yours brother.

    Hey rob ! Have you ever heard of a longrow 21 not having the laser print on the bottle .. I just got a bottle at auction and can’t find the date .. I plan on open it but if it’s a fake I want to bring it back

    • @WhiskyInThe6
      @WhiskyInThe6  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s probably a better question for the distillery itself. Send them images of the bottle. My guess is it could have rubbed off. Perhaps the shop owner had an older batch he/she wanted to get rid of. Did you pay retail?

    Yet another "unicorn" by Ontario standards anyway. Very envious that you can acquire these nice bottles. Incidentally I just found out there is a new HP 21 reintroduced for 2019, Viking Honor type bottle, slightly lower abv of 46.

      @@WhiskyInThe6 Yeah, I have a list of at least a dozen different bottles I would love to acquire but they are not available even in other parts of Canada let alone Ontario, very frustrating. Waiting though in anticipation for January as my Inlaws will be back from UK and are taking back 2 bottles of Glendronach 18 Allardice for me which I previously purchased on Amazon UK and had sent to their relatives. May be a belated sherried Christmas, my first time tasting the Allardice.

    • @cliffnorman178
      @cliffnorman178 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Longrow does not smell or taste like any Campbletown whisky. In my opinion it is a fantastic whisky but it is really peaty in comparison to any other whiskies from Campbletown. For your first Longrow I would suggest the Longrow CV.

    • @welshtoro3256
      @welshtoro3256 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Kresimir, My advice would be to get the standard Longrow Peated. It's not expensive and is by far the best bang for buck Longrow. Most other Longrows are limited editions and more expensive. It's part of the Springbank portfolio and I think you'll find the Longrow/Springbank/Hazelburn expressions quite interchangeable.
