I love mines they did an amazing job for a midrange the performance isn't bad it's actually good it does all the task I need to be done and to I like mine simple I do not play games on it so it should run smooth for awhile I'm an average user😊
So I got mines today honestly wanted the s21 fe couldn't find it anywhere don't due used fones so I got this and I'm pleasantly surprised don't believe the lies this thang a MONSTER extremely snappy looks as good and I do mean as good as the 23 flagship honestly I can't tell the difference as far as performance camera is actually extremely underrated again this is my day 1 but man these TH-camrs LYING BETWEEN THE S21 N THIS IS this definitely a mid range but flagship aspects are here and honestly I'm not even disappointed like I thought I would be
Regarding the question of slowing down over time-- this has happened with almost every phone I have had. Even though Samsung promises 4 more upgrade cycles, I wouldn't count on it to run Android 16 very well. In fact I frequent reject notifications for major upgrades, since they almost certainly require more resources and will slow down the phone.
I got one yesterday. I love it. It's perfect for me. It's 90% flagship. I don't game or book face. I don't consume much media on my phone. Unless I'm talking or texting, it pretty much stays in my pocket anyways. The SD expansion sold me. I'm trying to teach myself video editing, so the more video I can take, the better.

Love the a54 as far as some people commenting looks like an iphone 😂 not even close hole punch camera, no chunky block at the top and slight bezels around it. If people are trying to say the style is like an iphone then that would be every bar phone. A54 looks pretty much identical to the s23. Battery is subpar but can get through a full day without heavy use but overtime the battery may need to be replaced. As far as lagging i have not experienced that at all. For the price point its at, its a great buy especially with 4 year update and samsung support is just as good as apple in the u.s. I am very happy with my purchase considering i was able to pick up galaxy buds and galaxy watch with otterbox case, fast charger, paying only $140 with the phone case and screen protector included from metro. The watch etc i purchased separately from samsung and still didn't come close to flag ship pricing😂.
I’ve been looking at this phone as my next daily device coming from an old LGg6 and what what concerns me is you said the last Galaxy A53 you had was very laggy after a year..should I pass on this A54 and get the A34 5g instead? I’m 64 yrs old, not a gamer or a professional photographer but like to snap a few photos now and then. What about major updates down the road on both A models? Any comments?
Even if the phone slow down the road that’s ok. At least you not paying mortgage money to apple. I got this phone for $299 new the international version with the 8gb. Is amazing fast 5g large battery you can’t ask for more.
Its now January 2024 and we're getting riled up to find out about the a 55 coming soon..I've been waiting to buy this phone .. the a54.. I missed the sake at the end of Nov for 130 .00. But if I switch to . Metro by t mobile I get this phone for 99 dollars .. I'm thinking about it but right now I have my moto g power power..
This phone (and most other modern phones in 2023) will 'hold up' just fine after many years of usage PROVIDED you don't update the software after you get it. If you keep installing Android software updates every year, you'll slow this thing down to where it becomes unusable. Other than that, just keep using your phone normally, install apps, load music, movies, etc. and it'll do just fine. It's those darn software updates that ruin performance (both on Android and iOS devices)...
I don't understand why you reviewers never review the video on the selfie camera. In this day and age of social media, that camera will be used more than the rear camera. It only makes sense to actually show videos recorded with the selfie cam to show the quality of it.
For quick story videos I agree but for actual video post the rear is far more important but yea I should start reviewing the front facing camera a bit more thank you for the advice

I have the iPhone 13 pro max and the a54 5g and I have to say the promax is super close to dslr quality, so you might want to look into getting a better phone. Also with the days of snapchat, tiktok, only fans, and more and more social media content cameras are just as important as calls and texts.

I finally got one and I love it. This is such a better phone then the A12 which was my old phone.
