My compost bin is over 90% Guinea pig and hamster waste (their paper/wood shavings/sand/hay/coir bedding waste, their poop/urine and pellet food) and I find that putting all my used tea leaves and coffee grounds into a 5l until it’s about half full and then adding boiling water to the 4l mark and letting it “brew” overnight and then watering the pet waste in the compost bin really heats it up! I do it maybe once a week (depending on if it’s just my tea leaves and coffee grounds or if I’ve managed to get some at a local coffee shop! I water the heap and thoroughly mix it a few days later to get it to heat up again. It’s a really useful way of speeding everything up
@@GreenFingerTips yesssss! Guinea pigs are honestly amazing!!! I’ve had them for nearly 20 years and wouldn’t be without them. I’ve currently got 4 (two pairs of sisters, all rescued) and they help my mental health as well as my gardens health
Great info. Coffee#1 bag up their used grounds and place on a shelf so customers can just help themselves for free.
That's a great idea for coffee shops and café to reduce waste and help gardeners ☺️👏☕
I get mine from my local one too!
Great sharing ♥️
