In mlore we are not use chana powder , we soak white rice one cup, 3 spoon green gram, 2 spoon thoridal, keep 2 hours, and grind thick paste along with salt, 2 spoon fried urdu dal , small lemen size tamsrind or imli , one piece jagary ,slight coconut, make thick paste, and same method apply in leaf , make role, and boil in idli pot , after wards cut to slice ,fry in coconut oil shallow fry applying chiroti rawa, very tasty dish, otherwise cut small pieces and make upkari. I think north indians use chanapowder.
