BlacktipH putting out bangers all the time. Parrot Fish have big tough scales that are a pain in the butt. They sure taste good though. A staple fish in the Bahamas. Got some spearfishing.
Over here in the UK we call fishing like that 'The Method'. Originated by match anglers and adopted by carp and barbel anglers about 25 years ago. I used to bury my hookbait and weight in a paste made of scalded trout pellets. It was a way of fishing with bait 'weedless' and could be cast anywhere without any worry of hooks getting masked.
Those things are so cool. There were giant ones swimming around by Lahaina years ago could never get them to bite. They are protected there so it’d be a quick cool picture and back they go.

There’s no such thing as a trash fish, I don’t like that term and I wish people would stop using it, that’s why the alligator gar is endangered because it was considered a trash fish and people literally tried to eradicate it because of that
