This episode tells the story of the beginnings of the great saga told by Rishi Vyasa and written by lord Ganesha. The story begins with the narrative of King Shantanu's marriage with Ganga and the birth of Devabrata. Later we learn how prince Devabrata becomes the great Bhishma because of his “Bhisham” or profound vow - a vow which kickstarts the story of the Mahabharata and the destiny of the Kuru dynasty.
As an american and westerner, Hinduism was always a religion that was very foreign to me. The average westerner knows absolutely nothing about Hinduism, india, let alone any of the vast stories or even hindu culture/traditions. Thank you for making this very accessible:) i am learning a lot

Very true / most of the western world is ignorant to the greatness of these majestic traditions. Although, you find that many scholars and pivotal people in modern history, give recognition and respect to the Vedas and Mahabharata/Bhagavad Gita. It is strange to see people with such great achievements and influence in the modern world acknowledge the teachings and writings, but the masses look at India and Hindu culture as something inferior. The colonial rule over Bharat/India distorted and destroyed many of the traditions and essence of the culture. Extracting the wealth and wisdom to build the foundation of much of the modern western world as we know today.
Good luck with your TH-cam channel launch!
Been a listener since the launch of the 5th episode of the podcast.
Thank you.
Sir this is the best podcast i have ever heard
Please continue this series
This series will become a milestone one day
this needs to be made to a series of movies. it is better than lord of the rings. even better than the greek myth.
Mahabharat already has a great serial
There is Mahabharath tv series
Also, this is not myth
This is why br chopra series should have been supplied by subtitles for foreign consumption to make it easy to explain the mentality and morals of an Indian. The Mahabharat series by star was also very restricted by the studio. Kids born outside India craved to see this but they were denied. Same goes for Ramayana and Mahadev. What a shame!
@@ceeyesj7888agreed, there are so many Indian films and series I would love to watch if they were subtitled. They’re so difficult to find 😭
Sir I am really thrilled with the stories and really the way you explain and the background music is something i can't explain it is that good... please continue the good job
Such engaging story telling! Thank you, and looking forward to listening to the rest of the series.
Very good voice and back ground music..very good job sir..pls continue.....Radhe Radhe...jai sri Krishna...
very plentiful and abundant with grace and beauty.
yes. we must return the lands of Africa, India, and China to their former beauty and the world will once again know peace and golden ages once again.
Hi sir...✍️
You tell the story beautifully in pure language that any common man can understand🌹
This will definitely become a venture that will benefit many people ✅
Those who want to learn English will find this podcast in the coming days...
Thank you🙏
Definitely a great recommendation from TH-cam... It's like a beautiful discovery.
বাংলায় অনুবাদ শুনলে ছোটদের ভালো লাগবে, নিজেদের ইতিহাস জানতে পারবে।

Hello Sir, I am a great admirer and fan of your story telling. I am patiently waiting for further episodes. I have heard till last episode and would be waiting for your new episodes # 66.
Loving the podcast from South Africa! Can't wait to listen to more from episode 64 onwards 😁 In the meantime watching here from the start for the illustrations.
So beautifully made.
Great voice.
Thankyou so much.
Heard you on apple podcast. This is amazing!!!
it's Devavrata, not Devaprata FYI
I've been listening to the story on the podcast. 🥰 I really enjoy listening. The narrator is a great storyteller. I've been listening for a few hours now & I'm happy I can share my thoughts regarding the stories.
Wow!!! The production quality of this is incredible!! I wish I could hear all the Indian epics in this way! 🥰

Plz do videos on Ramayanam

good subtitles....
This is great! Thank you for this!
Shantanu should have control his feelings 😂😂
😂😂
True😂😂
That was divine Will, Otherwise why Shantanu Acted as per the Directives of the Curse given to Vasus. He stopped Ganga right before 8th Vasu who didn't ask for Apologies from Sage. He could had stopped her before at any son but he did so as per Providence.
I think it was destined.
why are you calling it as a poem ?
Because it is a poem.
Because it IS a poem, the world’s longest and oldest poem
Hare Krishna. Jai Sri Ganesha Ji. Sri Bhagavan Veda Vyasa Ki-Jai, Jai, Jai... Hari Bol
Great, that's an awesome work
Since the end of the radio age, this is the first podcast that could engage and engulf with such vividity. As the stories develop, the narrative and narration gets more and more vivid, engrossing and picturesque. It's like getting vision as Sanjaya.
Kudos to the background music creators.
excellent
I'm very happy to find this wonderful channel which has the most amazing stories of mahabharat❤.
17:55 tell in Telugu 😢
Is this Mahabharata pure version of ved vyasa? Or modified?
Excellent podcast. Well presented. Thanks. Will surely watch all the episodes
Great 👏👏👏
Superb ❤... Used to listen this podcast before launch on yt
All good but Mahabharata starts much before king shantanu.
Sir, All these Episodes should be sorted in correct order.
Currently I can see all of them are added in not proper order.
Hope something could be done for this.🙏
Found this channel and came here after finding out that Epified has not finished the complete Mahabharata.. hopefully you guys won't leave us hanging!
Better if you put key names, etc. as subtitles. Purpose of story is understanding.
1st episode done. Goosebumps ❤
The concept of sanatan dharm is arcane
Yes, I love this because my sir said to listen this
This is what I am looking for
So wayasa composed it... mahabharata is fake 😂😂😂
Vyasa is the grandfather of Pandavas and Kauravas.
He narrated it after the Mahabharata ended.
And it doesn't matter if it's real or not, what matters is what it teaches us.
@@prathameshkamble3349 It teaches us nothing... those are common thoughts that everybody have, just a basic common sense
@@LawyehhHave you ever wondered why these thoughts became so common? It's because of these stories. These stories from thousands of years have instilled the moral teachings in human society, which has made them common thoughts these days. But I guess reservation people won't get this in their head
@@attactitan1404 bro I have a question for you???
Dear creator, Mahabharata was a "yadartha ethihasa" as said by Vedavyasa in the beginning of Mahabharata. This is so true that Vedavyasa keeps you watching and gets mesmerised while you listen or read the Mahabharata.
Wow your voice is so majestic
Aum Namo Ganeshaya namaha Sarvasya sharanagathi Shreekrishnaparamaatmane namaha😊🙏🙏🙏🙏
Aum Namobhagavathe Vaasudevaya sarvasya sharanagathi😊🙏🙏🙏🙏
great narration!! subscribed
Wonderful narration 😊
Thanks for this sir❤🙏
This is very good. Probably the best audio for The Mahabharat. In love with this and would recommend everyone who wants to listen to The Mahabharat. I just have a genuine question/complain (with no offence and comes from my genuine feelings and good conscience) about the pronunciation of all the characters. Is there a reason to pronounce the character's name with the "A" sound? For ex. Why not say "Ar-jun" instead of "Ar-jun-A"?
Isn't it Arjunaha when it is written in Sanskrit?
@@galactustaa6885 It is "Arjun" in Sanskrit. The A at the end is there because of Non-Hindi & Non-Sanskrit Peoples used to pronounce it as 'Arjuna'.
Wow, what a narration, nice
Infinite thanks to you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Well done 🙏🕉🙏
Thank you ❤
Day 1
very good
I am so happy to listen our great Indian mythology thank you so much sir ❤️❤️💛💛❤️💛❤️ for wonderful podcast
It is not mythology
@@Hindustani_jaago sorry its a history of Bharat
Ashadharon👌🏻
Beautiful
Mahabharata or Mahabharat? Vyasa or Vyas? Ganesha or Ganesh?
Both work
Ending on the "a" is Sanskrit. If you ask me, it is more correct than the Hindi or anglicized.
@@ketoacid3393yes… it is anglized.. the names are Mahabharata, Vyas & Ganesh
❤
bhi accha ha to sab, likin hindime explain karneme kaya dikat thi
Apko English mei sunneke liye kya dikat hai ?
What?????? Kuchh bhi????
😊😊😊
❤
Shiri Ganesh bolo😢😢😢❤❤❤❤

You are calling it a poen that vyasa composed. Does it mean that it was fictional?
yeah same question
Not really. History was written as poems in ancient times. Composing in this context simply means writing it the form of a poem. He didn’t call it fictional
I ate 2 apple does it mean I am a software engineer this is the same question you are asking
@@jokerharley2174 your name suits you
Very bad story because you speak english not explain Hindi
There are people who don’t understand Hindi. This is for them. I’m pretty sure you can find plenty of other creators explaining it in Hindi. So why be negative?
Ahhhh finally. Finally i found what I have been looking for. Thank you for this.
Dint understood 2:51 please let me know.
Whenever Vyas needed time he composed a complicate verse which took Lord Ganesh some time to comprehend; because according to the condition he couldn't write without understanding the verse so Vyas did so to buy some time
@@arpitagour4566 hey now i understood thanx for your time.
