What happens is that Kabal in MK11 was taken into this new timeline merge before he got burned by Kintaro, so he didn't know that would be Kintrao and not Sonya. Kano just lied to Kabal to give him a reason to kill Sonya for him.

When he said take it off I first thought that he wanted to die and that was a mood for me but I wonder how Kabal became a cop. He used to be in a infamous international criminal organization. I doubt law enforcement would allow a member join them just like that.

I'm just saying that we know that he has a criminal history as a member of the Black Dragon so I can't really see any law enforcement agencies letting him in unless he was able to hide that part of his life. Plus he would have also have to have a change of heart to leave the Black Dragon and join law enforcement.

@Boi Boi I doubt it. He's way scummier than he is in MK9, and he already has his powers in MK11. MK9 insinuated that when he was healed his powers were new; that it's Outworld magic's doing, or maybe Shang Tsung's.
Plus Kahn's invasion into earth was so swift after his defeat in the tournament. Kabal definitely could not have joined the police force that quickly. And Kano's "the black dragon ain't the same without you mate," quote implies that he's been serving the police for a long time.
