    Albert was in rare form.The amount of info shared by him was extremely helpful. I agree that your tear downs are not only helpful to us, but also the manufacturers. Is Albert a engineer, or a curious enthusiast?
    Thanks

      @@2cells1pack Albert, how do you know so much about this wheel at such an early stage? did you go to the factory to learn from their team or did you just reverse engineered the whole thing?

    Glad to see that the bearing seals are working so well. The ecodrift teardown had me reluctant to get a 1st batch Patton. This teardown looks very promising!
    Thanks for the great content! Shot out to Albert and his channel too.

      Bearing seals on new wheels all look great. As of right now, Im most excited by the A2 - really want to tear it down and see what they've done differently.

    I like that it's a specifically made wheel for trails. You don't need speed on trails, need torque and handling.

    • @2cells1pack
      @2cells1pack ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only small issue is the weight, I wish It was a bit lighter, and maybe also a bit narrower.

    • @dirt.surfer
      @dirt.surfer ปีที่แล้ว

      @2cells1pack. naw, similar weight as the s22, it trails well. A little bit of weight is good for stability. Initially I didn't like the idea of the s22 weight, but I think it's a good place. I have been on a v13 and tbh it's weight a little awkward, but the narrowness makes it worse, thought it was a wobbly mess.

    it seems like a lot of thought went into this wheel which is really good to see! tire changes would suck though
    also i would love to know for all of the future wheel reviews or tear downs at what amount of amps or power draw does the wheel beep from acceleration so i could compare what eucs can accelerate the best

    amazing content. so do you think it would be a waste to put a street tire on this wheel? i mostly ride road surfaces. thinking to try a bit of off road stuff too but def won't be my main use

    To touch on the Commander Pro subject. so far out of the new wheels I have seen the least amount of complaints or things going wrong with the CP. I have been paying attention too. Patton is going to be a very popular wheel I think.

      I don't think it's been out long enough, or ubiquitous enough for issues to rear its head.
      Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the wheel. But to be fair - I can foresee some issues.

  • @spartacus3570
    @spartacus3570 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Being someone who works on my own wheels I definitely appreciate what you guys do 💯!
    Leaperkim put a gasket on that beast please no silicone... it took me 2 hours to get the top cover that's covering the board off...that really made the tire change suck! Had I not been so patient, it could of broken easily.

    • @2cells1pack
      @2cells1pack ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, silicone is definitely not the ideal solution that manufacturers should rely on.

      You don't need to take off the controller cover to remove the tire. You only need to remove the top plastic cover, left battery box, and suspension.

    love the specs and the look of this wheel but I don't want to be stuck with the extreme hassle of tire changes and shock maintenance. these machines need to be aggressively re-engineered from the bottom up for simplicity.

  • @electricunipsycho
    @electricunipsycho ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I wish they would use split rims, would make tyre changes so much easier. Especially on a 16" changing the tyre can be harder than getting the motor out to change it

      True that!

    • @2cells1pack

    I disagree on the fork air vs coil point, mountain bike companies have perfectly reliable, fantastically performing air forks. I myself have run air forks without any reliability issues for years.
    Air forks and suspension is proven on the world cup circuit for downhill, enduro, and XC, in addition to long term testing.

    • @2cells1pack

    the bearing fitment looks a bit uncommon, usually the axle should be a slide fit(+0.01mm), the side cover should be press fit(-0.03mm), so when you change the bearing there is no claw tool required, just hammer it out from the side cover

    • @2cells1pack
      @2cells1pack ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. The Sherman S and Patton are the first wheel I've seen that the bearings get so stuck and hard to put on the axle. Usually it's fit very snug on the side motor covers. However, I prefer this fit to the loose fitting nature on the KingSong.

  • @richsam287
    @richsam287 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great vid, wow all those screws omg! Patton is an odd duck for me, weight is higher than I would like for a dedicated trail wheel, wheel is size is smaller than I would like for a street cruiser. Not a good fit for me I think.

    CP is a killer wheel. Every wheel have weakness. “Boycotting” the CP for the reason you mentioned seem like a hate move, so you clearly started hating first 😅

    • @eevees
      @eevees  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lol, we’re not boycotting the CP. We made a business decision to not carry it for many different reasons. One of the many reasons is we had to highly discount the Extreme Bull Commander down to our cost just to move them. People weren’t buying them. That’s just one of many factors.
