I have always thought that a short wide stepside would look so cool.
Man you are rockin it !
Work Safe, Be Well
Enjoy Life
Weird Beard, you’re really demonstrating your total fabrication abilities. Going to be awesome . Thanks for sharing your work !
💯👍
Thank you kindly!
Killer surprise to get an update!!!I really appreciate your content and effort and love what you're doing!I can't wait to see what the finished project looks like!
Mike, you make all the metal work and paint look so easy, but I know it's not. It only looks that way after years of experience. I'm really enjoying this build. 😊
That's some fantastic fabricobbleing you're doing there!
Glad you like it!
Man, you deserve 10x the views. Such a great channel, Brilliant teacher like being in your favourite class. You're a class act Mr Beard 👏🏻
The yellow Mustang lives on!
You must be an OG subscriber. Thanks for hanging around so long.
Not too worried about that (secret) Rabbit Hole. We've witnessed plenty of Weird Beard solutions. You may need to update your moniker to "The Rabbit Whisperer". 😬
😂
Looking good so far. I sure wish I had a bed to cut up and make fit. I ended up making mine from scratch, having a bed to chop up much better. I always wanted to build a short bed dually can't wait to see how yours comes out...
Sometimes I'll be scratching my head and then always have to remind myself, "it's Weird Beard, trust the process". I'm confident whatever challenge you run into, you figure your way around it!
That looks so much better then the wide finder you go all out on all of your builds looks awesome
Thanks 👍
Putting that box on the Chevy looks so good.
I am so glad to have been "recommened" your Channel from Utube.
Such great craftsmanship that you do!
I don't have a clue as to what the problem is WB. I really like your Idea on the bed. You are very skilled and inovative. Still pissed about the Patina. Dulling it down was ok, but uglying it up went too far. But as they say, it's your truck. Thanks for the video, it is very entertaining and I love your work.
I said it before and I'll say it again, you're the king of fabrication and making things work with what you got. Will follow to the finish!
great video Mike, this is an exciting project and I'm looking forward to following you till the end of it 👍
Loving the shop and I know that you have a great idea where everything is because of what I see I am going to say that a shop like that is one of a multitasking owner who has multiple projects for many customers going on. I hope you and the family are all well. Thank you for sharing this with my friends/family and coworkers.
The most underrated channel ! Man , you are the real deal ! So proud of being a part of this channel since 200 subs !
Thanks for hanging around for so long.
I've been in and out of the hospital so much in the last 3 months I'm trying to catch up with you and what you and your daughter are doing..I sure miss her videos and her laughter! I hope all is well with you guys!
I like it... I like the plan. I do want to know what you are doing for a fuel tank though. So many times I see these resto-mods/custom jobs and the fuel tank people end up having to use ends up obstructing the bed and it's half as big as what it should have... giving you a range of like a hundred miles between gas station stops. My first thought, with that extra room in the front of the bed was "combo fuel tank/tool box"... but I get what you're going for and I like it. Still... I hope you can shoe horn a decent sized fuel tank into the plan.
Love this project
Looks GREAT Weird Beard!!!
Leave the tailgate stock width and box in the end of the bed to width of tailgate. That will leave the back of the truck with a flat panel on each side of the tail gate in which you can mount some sweet tail lights.
The Rust Reformer should hold up for you. I used it on a couple tool boxes a few years ago and both still look good with no rust, and there was plenty to begin with.
Being a 1 Ton, the frame isn't flat. That is, the cab mounts and the bed mounts are at different elevations. I am sure you will sort it out with ease.
At first I was confused about how this works 😮
But watching the rest of the video made me realise how skilled you are
Can’t wait to see the finished product!
Keep explaining everything your doing. It helps a lot of people. Great job little brother. Keep up the great work
I like the way you think about Widing the bed
Eastwood… the “Tandy” of welders 😂😂
WB, you are a genius! Awesomely excellent content. I am digging your vision of shortening the frame. I am an addict for fabrication, more please!😊
Those trucks look bad ass lowered. what makes it even better is it is a dually
Hey Mike, you are a true artist with making an old girl looking good and getting a second choice!
Thank you Weird Beard for this video.
Hello Mike, really like this build. I believe the rabbit in the hole is the frame jogs up or down behind the cab, which in turn makes the bed higher or lower. Take care and keep up the great work. 👍
Damn you’re good. First one to guess correctly.
There's a orange 55 1 ton with a widened step side bed running around nw oklahoma city. Ive seen it off and on since 1989.
Recently I was at car show , and I saw a pickup truck with a bed like the one you have there . On the tailgate they made spring loaded latches on the inside of the tailgate at the top part of the gate. I thought that was pretty slick
Great video dude love this truck series. It is coming together. Keep up the great work dude
I haven't watched your channel in a while, but hey, this is a really cool build. Cheers!
the bulk head came out nice .
Serious, serious skills! You should be at 100k by now.
Looking Great. It will all be good in the end.
Watch on my TV. Subscribed on my phone. The mock up. Really. Shows. How it will be. Thanks
Can’t wait to see this thing finished. Gonna be sweet!
Looking good W.B. !
Bearded one you're the man you got this
Oooh know, well at least you found out before you got to far 😬😬👍👍
On that tailgate it seems to me that rather than extend the old tailgate, which is a classic piece, leave it original and make two new corners. That will strengthen the rear end of that widened body and possibly a lot easier.
Lowering isn't my thing but hey you did a cool job on the green car (can't recall the model) you saved from Mother Nature in the woods!
Looking good Mike
Thanks
Its looking good.. i have a 73 ford f350 im doing as we speak. Im goin the same route as you. I have only a few differences when it comes to the bed and frame. My truck was a tow truck. So the back frame was cut short. I got a good idea on what to do. O im having issues with my Eastwood welder to.
Man that thing's going to look sweet when you're done man great job
Thanks 👍
Man I use that rust converter stuff. I sprayed it all over my 65 Chevy Van... Then I got distracted with other projects. Fast forward 3 years and it's still not painted. The rust i converted on the outside of the body, of the van that lives outside, has zero rust reappearing from under it! That's right no top coat and no further rusting. In Wisconsin!!!
The great ones make it look easy...
It's fun reading the comments... I know you are going for the Tried and True, Time tested look. "SHORT n WIDE". There is not a better look for a Full size truck (imho). Eventually they will see the results of your hard work and have that aha moment.
Beard you have always managed to fix modify anything. I have confidence you can pull it off. I’m loving the short bed modification….
The AA rebuild Mustang is what them bolts are from . I found this channel from that build and been here since 👍
You never cease to amaze me !
it looks awesome can't wait to see the finish product 😊
Very good work partner
Thanks for the visit
Man, you’re awesome!! This is the kind of stuff I’m interested in!!
Doing a great job. Man with a plan
Much prefer slammed over lifted. Mike, you have a good plan!
that is a crazy amount of passion
Looking like a tuck bed again good job
Damn .. Nice work .. !!! .. you sure surprise me every time.
Beard you are doing a FIRST TIME transformation
Keep moving forward Yes there will be suspension mods !! I don’t expect this Truck to be ready until next year. Most projects like this take over a year with help from others 👍👍🏁🇺🇸
Coming together nicely.... bed lenthing next video... 😊
Great project your working on
Love you're idea, shortening the frame and dropping it 👍👍🔥
Well, you had me all excited about the bed. Till the end of the video . Now I'm worried.
Nothing a shit ton of work won’t fix lol.
@@weirdbeard8898 really enjoy your channel and your content. Can't wait for the next video 😍 I'm so excited to see it finished.
Excellent video WB.
Bolts from yellow mustang! Memories 😊
Love the progress.. also the visual I am picturing it’s gonna be sweet ..
Can't wait!
As of 6 minutes it's looking like a great truck!
Nice job on that bed !!!!
Man, this is some work. Doing great!
The swb is a great plan. It will look killer. Best wishes. We are “Crusin the Coast “ here in Ms. 13k crushers.
That truck is going to look awesome
Thanks for another , Brother !!
It would really look great with the steps!
The rib’s as you call them are actually called brace’s. I’m retired from GMSPO and worked in the paint shop there, saw way too many of these things.
Thanks for the info. I’ll remember that
Oh no 😮 I was hoping that it was going to be shortened but not on the band wagon of slamming it to the ground. But who am I to complain. Good morning to you all and I hope you have a great Wednesday. I will kick back enjoy your video and then pass it along.
Thanks John
@@weirdbeard8898 always welcome, Mike
Your vision is coming to life! Freakin awesome, Mike!
Can’t wait for the next chapter!
It would look cool if you manufactured a short sleeper behind the cab to take up the slack. I love this series as much as I loved the coronet series but the only problem is the vids are too short. I gotta wait until you get about three out before I can watch so I can watch 3 in a row. You make this shit look so easy. I've never seen you cuss-n-fuss either. I'd be throwing wrenches and screaming at the devil himself. That's looking AMAZING. I wouldn't even ATTEMPT that shit but man you are a true artist.
I love this project truck!!!
Awesome work !!!!!
Love what you’re doing WB looks great.thanks John from Arizona
My pleasure
WRECKED IT
Looks like a lot of good work. Thanks.
It's really looking good man great job
This is gonna be a cool build..
Im lovin it bro.
Man out here making a long bed into a short bed I made my 65 d200 crew cab swb stepside into a lwb sweptline lol
Amazing work.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks WB
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video Mike!
You bet!
not sure on the older chevys but some of the dodges had a offset in the frame where the cab sit lower than the bed and when you shorten them that has to be delt with
Looking good!!!!
I love this bed! I love the wide fenders like #coreywheatcustoms. But this has more room.
His truck is definitely sweet
Looking good
