Do they check hand carry twice as they mention on the website?
It's very hit or miss! I wasn't checked a single time but it can definitely happen especially if it looks oversize or heavy.

Air Asia is better than HK Express. HKE won't even let you select seat for free during online check-in. Their meals are expensive, small portion size and taste bad. Would not take HKE if there is alternative with similar price.
