      @@kevalvichare4759 honestly illegal immigrants still live good lives here if they work hard enough. Many start companies and they make a decent amount idk about being billionaires but definitely a more then comfortable life. Honestly I don’t understand how people doubt that the u.s is the land of opportunity because it definitely is. Obviously you aren’t gonna get rich by sitting down all day doing nothing I don’t understand why people don’t get that (not talking about you btw). So many ungrateful Americans here saying this country sucks like they expect the government to give them a foot massage and give them 10 thousand dollars. It is kind of sad because most of this country is amazing excluding obviously bad cities like Detroit, Chicago, Maybe L.A and some others.

    00:15 "They packed suitcases with notebooks so they wouldn't have to pay for supplies when they arrived in Silicon Valley."
    This seems really weird...
    It should be a LOT cheaper to buy the notebooks in Silicon Valley because paying for extra luggage is insanely expensive.

    Burning the bridge concept was actually first started off with Tariq Ibn Ziyad, who burned all his ships when arriving on Spanish shores. In order to motivate his men to conquer Spain. The spaniards have since been inspired by it.

    Occam’s Razor says that the likely reason why so many immigrants succeed in this country is because - despite the vacuous ideological voices that claim it otherwise - America offers more opportunity and liberty than the other large economies of the world.
    The combination of motivated individuals who take the risks and difficulties related with immigration, and a socioeconomic and political system that allows relatively more freedoms for those same individuals to succeed, will result in more immigrants succeeding in America than elsewhere.
    Compared to other nations and societies, America still is the country where people do in fact move up and down the social class tiers more than anywhere else. Asia and Europe are civilizations that have social rank more historically established than in America...traditions, family ties, social connections, etc. are much more important to advancement in those societies than in America.
    This is still (perhaps for now) the best land of opportunity...

    • @b.3845
      @b.3845 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JebusGoesonanAdventure I think there’s more than one reason, first it could be because those that become naturalized most likely came from countries where the only thing hindering them was opportunities. They had everything except the resources which America offers if you play your cards right. So they come here very laser focused on a specific goal which is to make it big. Nothing else distracts them not even American politics. They also have resilience built from hardships of their countries, so chances of them quitting as less. So we can assume they have more resilience than those born here. I think they’re also brilliant which is an added bonus. Not sure if I’ve convinced you but I think those are just some of the reasons. It’s not just 1thing.

    "Burn the Boat" is the Battle of Guadalete almost 800 years earlier: Battle Between Muslims and Spanish Army for the conquest of Spain.⛵⛵⛵⛵
    There is a legend about Tariq ibn Ziyad, the famous Muslim general in 711-718 A.D. , who gave Gibraltar its name. Tariq decided to invade Spain. He landed on the shores of southern Spain with a small army of 7000 Muslims. Once everyone landed, commanders asked Tariq if they should leave some soldiers to guard the ships. To everyone’s shock, Tariq ordered to burn the ships. Tariq knew that his army was far outnumbered by Spanish forces. He created the point of no return. There was no option left with soldiers but to win. There was not a single ship which could take them back. Escape routes were closed. The rest is history. For the next 800 years, Spain remained the Islamic stronghold.
