great song and probably the only song in the world that can get a pub full of blokes to scream at the top of there lungs "you don't make me feel like I'm, a woman any more"
andrew lawrence bloody oath!
Fuckn good one. Love it.
andrew lawrence thats a stef torok joke...
andrew lawrence ..a good one too.
Lol
In the 80s I worked security in the National Gallery on St Kilda Road with the guy Tony who made this clip. Great clip, great song.
I'm 26 from Texas, USA. Getting into a lot of Australian rock, I'm digging this! So much of the rock from Australia actually sounds like ROCK, not rubbish.
Best live band!! You have great taste
Yeah, we have a long tradition of keeping it real.
Enjoy buddy. We have great rock bands in Australia. I play mostly Aussie rock as a solo acoustic performer!
Try Powderfinger
you know it wolf, good to hear,,, DC
Hunters and Collectors always have the coolest basslines.
John Archer - one of the best ever!
timeless bass lines. what a song. what a band. Never saw them live :-(
The bridge between the second chorus and the third verse is one of Australian music's greatest moments
Always loved it!
Too right! Endorphin rush every time!
Awesome music! I'm American and I've heard of Hunters and Collectors.
The greatest song they produced..most Australian clip ever produced...hd holden...white shirt awesome...we all lived this
I don't care what anyone else says, but this song has the best guitar riff of all time, period!
You can add the Bass groove to that easily......
Absolute beast of a track, perhaps the Hunters and Collectors best. Looks like Mark Seymour had to hitch a ride home, didn’t look like he had much luck getting that old HD Holden going!
So much cred cleaning the oil crap off on a rag in the opening line. Who works their own car except hard doers. Up there with a tray truck with bag pipes for serious cred.
the bass makes this sound rock at its best
We had some of the BEST music 🎶🇦🇺💯😎 The Hunters, smashed it!!!💪🥃
Hunters were awesome and a great aussie rock band for sure. Fantastic music with a great sound. And yes. Human Frailty is one of the best Albums ever..
lucky enough to have caught these guys in their day and also seen Mark at a day on the green a couple of times.
What an absolute legend, what a great entertainer.
absolutely love bands with a horn section.
like H&C, Madness, The Bureau et all.
Great sounds.
The horn section was called "The Brasstards" from memory
What makes it even sweeter for me, that car he’s working on on the side of the road, my first car was one. A HD Holden. Love H&C, got to see them in concert in Adelaide.
Back in the days when you could actually work on cars yourself! (Well we also had to pull out the manual choke on cold mornings) I had a 6 cylinder red HQ, used to tow vans and boats. Can't afford 6 cylinders nowadays!
I'm not sure many will appreciate how well this was recorded and mixed. Live recordings were often really dodgy.
Seeing H & C while in high school 6 months before this album came out was life changing.
Still in my top 5 gigs of all time.
Favourite Hunters and Collectors song. Very Aussie. Saw them several times at live gigs. They were awesome!
Drove from Torquay to Richmond to see these guys in 1986. Simply amazing!
One of the best gigs I ever saw. H&C at the Tivoli in Sydney in the late 80’s
Yes kids, Sydney once had a thriving nightlife and live music scene with great venues
Eh suburu pro....ahh they were the days my friend....then computing took over what a fuck up.shit, that was 30 yrs ago, dollar drinks nights, roll a smoke take a sip of scotch and coke, belt down a few black sambucas, roll another smoke, skull a shooter or two etc etc....man,i still feel young but,i guess, were old now maybe?
Shit, I used to go to the Tiv.
Woke Millenials killed Sydney Night life.
This is the essence of Australia, Holdens, rust, sweat, dirt, a ballsy band with no comparison-they just don't make 'em like this anymore. So glad i got to see them in their prime in The Bridge Club, Richmond -many times. Thank u guys, u rocked my world-literally.
sure is.broken down holden
In all fairness, North American Chevrolets are equally reliable.
@@legojenn they’re trash good as a rubbish dump
Oh man the sum of the parts is much much greater. Special band.
I grew up listening to Hunters and saw them live countless times.Great Aussie band! One of those bands that are even better live:D
my youth just came back .... fleetingly, A great Aussie band
Those spitting ghost notes in the bass line are absolutely filthy
You had to see them live in the day....Videos never did them justice..filled my heart with joy!
+Boneidol82 Saw them at this flash place on george st once, they played the coogee bay a lot as well, think I saw them there as well.
+Boneidol82 You said it! First real rock band I ever saw live-in Calgary, Canada, where I grew up-and I haven't seen anything better since!
First heard this lp back in 1987. A great song, great album. Human Frailty. A must recording.
Fave Hunters song .. BEST LIVE BAND EVER!! INCREDIBLE LIVE SOUND!!!
Human Frailty...fantastic album!!!!!!!!!
I love it.... all these posts with Aussie pride! Reiterates how lucky I am to be an Australian :)
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi
ugh
Brilliant song it makes you want to play that brass!
This songs was bloody awesome live - the Brass section & the worlds biggest joint - happy days indeed!!
In the eighties I loved this band. Gang of 4ish, but Aussie.
the sound of the brass, empty warehouse, yesss!!!
Under rated musicians. Great song!
Yeahhhhh
❤70s 80s 90s
saw them at the uni bar in wellington NZ when i was 17 (got in somehow). farkin unreal gig, seymour grinding his axe, white singlet, sweaty, unrelenting, awesome aussie rock band. still love this song.
Awesome memories, brilliant words wonderful band !! Oh the memories xxx
my fav of their songs.
Whoa, this takes me way back, loved this song as a teen, went to see them in Collingwood after this album was released, was under-age and had to finagle my way in. They played this song, Mark Seymour noting that it was a tricky one to play live. Great band that somehow managed to be unpretentious with a french horn. Great bass guitarist. Talking to a Stranger is another great early song of theirs.
I had to analyse this in school, best lesson of my life!
Haha got the old HD 1965 what a car 👌
This song aged really well
This takes me so far back to Melbourne in the 90s, the Greek and other grotty venues, cops were shooting, trams on strike, wild
Yeah Aussie rock from the 80s ,we use to go to all the pubs n venues n that's Adelaide n still is today ,I loved this track with the old HR HOLDEN they were a bit different but they made plenty of good tracks , the tears of joy was my ex crazy n gone n it's tells her WELL 🙃💥👌
Great way to start the night, great music to get a party going, one of the best
wow blast from the past...how good is that....
Love their brass and big band sound.
Pure Gold, thanks Mark
who thought of the long shots. Amazing!
Still gives me motivation, kick start even, good times.
Aussie pub rock at its best. counting the days to the hunters (one of the top three aussie live bands ta see) and the boss in melb.
Loved seeing the hunters , any pub anywhere 😊
killer guitar...drums...unreal
Holden HD. Great Kah!
973 likes...what...there must be another vid. A song with full on grunt, love the brass section, love the guitar, the beat, and rich, rugged vocals from mark seymour, backed up by the ladies. Thank you Hunters & Collectors...reminds me of The Night Train in Broken Hill circa '88.
Hunnas! Human Frailty - one of the greatest albums ever!
Plasticsoul yes it is 👌✊️Hunnas
i love the contrasts at the beginning of the white shirt and white HR Holden against the black skies and black road with a dead brown field
The only problem I have with this song is that when I turn up the volume to max, it's still not loud enough.
That and so few people have watched this fucking amazing song
Nice HD Holden ,great song !
Absolute classic!
Favorite song when I was 12. Still rocks freakin hard
Same age then too mate, such a ripper
One of my favourites at 10. It took me few years to realise the song was called say goodbye
Gooooo Mark You Rock mate!!!!!!!!!
gold" great song " how cool is this clip' 1980,s gold" that riff wow"
This man survived the worst female stalker all props to hìm
that some was a trivia question the other night...I so remenber this clip!. got the opening bass line and the chorus (who wouldn't), but couldn't remember the title..oh the shame. More clips with old Holdens PLEASE!
These guys are great because they say it how it is. Thank you!!!!!!! Peter Garrett- you went through hell as a 'politician' but you are right and always have been. Say it with song!!!!! Sorry for how the last 20 years treated truthsayers...but you guys are so right. And you rock!!!!
wtf... LOL
Always an intense brass section, fucking great.
Saw them support the Stranglers on their acceptance in Qld after Joe band them. What a band
He is such a Man.
❤"The hidden" movie 1987,top old school Cinema & Music❤
Love this band
That how a Bass should be played! :)
Flashbacks of Mansfield Tavern Rock Arena, sticky carpet, pitch black, whole body thumping with the sound of greatness
I prefer their early stuff but this is still a really great track.
Brilliant - lovin this
that HD would be worth good coin these days
Hell yes. I’d have that old HD Holden even though it’s broken down. Wonder whether Mark Seymour got her going!
i can not believe the lack of support here, hunter's where one of the best cult australian bands of all time,we should have a hundred thousand hits here not a lousy 15 thousand.
I remember a workmate of mine going to see H&C at the "Hilly" in Hamilton, NZ in the late '80s and telling how some punks had been body slamming and one of them had cracked his head open and bled heaps all over my mates shirt, which he hadn't known until his girlfriend pointed it out later. Felt really envious that I'd missed such a decent gig! Fast forward to about 1995-96. Hunters and Collectors back in Hamtown, I wasn't gonna miss them again!!!..... Back at the good ol' Hillcrest Tavern [which was the varsity/uni students pub]. They were bloody awesome, sounded better'n their albums, got the crowd into a whirling dervish of a dancing mess, almost did a whole 'nother set of encores cos we wouldn't let them go. H & C were always well loved on this side of the ditch, and justifiably so! 1 'o' the best live bands eva! [Shoulda been bigger than they were, even].
Saw them at Newcastle Workers Club before the earthquake, good times
Yeah, very good...
1:22 Hot Hits 3XY Billboard over Mark's shoulder.
How good is this track? It had whole bars full of young beered-up Aussie males in chorus: You Don't Make Me Feel Like I'm a Woman Anymore.
greatest Aussie band ever! bar none!!!! no, not Cold Chisel.
Can't wait to see them at the Palais, St Kilda in April
you know I was thinking about a violin...well I do play the mandolin. And now, now I want a big bass guitar!
HD Holden lucky it had not rusted away by the time they shot this
There is no way on this earth that Mark Seymour would not make any woman feel like a woman 🤤
deb thats funny..hes a nice guy too..the ultimate anti bogan band. cheers
Hunters are always collecting
Play it Loud!
Rage, rage, rage!
I miss them...
Legends !!!!!
Best thing to come out Victoria apart from the Hume Highway.
YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
a lot of Australian music had that muscular base
Yeah, the girls usta dringk fer free them days.
Ahh a misspent Melbourne 80s youth.
Well, the 80's, best decade ever.
Yeeeeeeeehhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaa
Well...
Just the other night I come home
After three months of constant grind and travel
And I went snivellin', I went crawling around to my girlfriend's house
She came down hard upon me
And she ground her finger into my breastbone
And she said, she said:
"You don't make me feel like I'm a woman anymore
And you don't make me feel like I'm a woman anymore...
You don't make me feel like I'm a woman anymore!"
And I know, I know it's been a long time
Seems like it's been going on forever...
And my heart...
My heart is beating too big
It's beating too big
For the space that's meant to hold it
So goodnight...
Goodnight my little lovely
As we turn
As we turn down the lights
Say goodbye
Goodbye to the naked truth
Your skin is lookin' weary
And your eyes are closing down on the day
(You don't make me feel like I'm a woman anymore...)
Yeah, I know
I know it's been a long time...
Seems like it's been goin' on forever
But just as black is white
Yeah and just as night is day
The light is gonna leave you
And you're gonna fade away
So goodnight...
Goodbye my little lovely
As we turn
As we turn down the lights
Say goodnight
Goodnight to the naked truth
Your skin is lookin' weary
And your eyes are closing down on the day
That bass player deserves a pay rise.
