  • As I do have a lot of USB peripherals, it has been inevitable that I use a USB hub. However, there are many times where I want a bit more control to turn them on and off, avoiding too many devices connected to the computer. That's why this device comes in handy!

    Hi, great review.
Q: Does pressing the on/off button on it deactivates connected device.
Have many controllers connected to pc, some interfere with my gaming software. Would love to turn on/off any device only when needed with switch.

Am buying a JP version, in my country we have 240v usually but JP has 100V it says on that shop. Will a 240v to 110v converter work even tho there is a 10v difference on the manufacturer's manual?

    • @JosephKim

I can't say for certain as I'm not electrical engineer or professional, but I understand 100v-110v is usually within the tolerances.

Using some math, the power supply is only 3amps, divide 10 ports is only 0.3amps each port populated . Which is very low power delivery depending on what your devices require.

    • @JosephKim

True. I have not populated them all just yet, and usually they are low power items :)

Assuming this thing has enough power for 7 portable hard drives, if you are thinking you can connect 7 hard drives and have them run at full USB 3.0 speeds it’ll never happen. It’s still dividing the bandwidth of 1 port from your motherboard to 7 in the hub when they are all used for that purpose. But if you have alot of other peripherals you’d like to easily disconnect (like game controllers, webcam, etc) this is your device.
For hard drive use, I typically only use my 10 port for a single easily accessible spot to plug in a USB 3.0 hard drive/thumb drive. You might be able to get away with several hard drives so long as they aren’t all reading/writing at the same time. Usually, I’m working when I have a thumb drive in use so I’ve got everything unnecessary deactivated anyway.
For portable SSD’s and spinning plater hard drives I find it best practice to connect them all to their own USB 3.0 port on your motherboard, then disconnect them when not in use.

When you connect, say, five, and turn them all on, you will use a lot of bandwidth. My solution was to buy an I/O card with seven USB ports that connect to a PCIe slot on my computer. It works like a champ.

    • @JosephKim
      @JosephKim  ปีที่แล้ว

Nice! I don't typically need that much of peripherals that eats bandwidth, so this is good enough for me ;)

Awesome review. Answered most of my questions about this product. Since you're happy with the product, i have a few questions for you:
    - When you use a certain switch, the other switches stay connected or their power "flicker"? (i noticed that other hubs do that)
    - If you turn off a certain switch but there is a power outage, does that switch stays off when the power returns?
    - Can the charging ports be used as data ports too?
    Thank you very much

    • @JosephKim

So, because it has an independent power supply, I have not seen it it flicker or impact any other ports. And yes, all the data goes back to the PC via upstream cable. (there is only one type of parts here)
