  • I attended my first ever Memorial Cup! This tournament is the pinnacle of Junior Hockey. The winners of the Ontario Hockey League (London), Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (Drummondville), and the Western Hockey League (Moose Jaw) as well as the host team (Saginaw) competed for the Canadian Hockey League Championship. This was the first Memorial Cup hosted outside of Canada since 1998 (Spokane, WA).
I attended a round robin game between London and Moose Jaw. I am so excited to share this once-in-a-lifetime experience with you! I cannot imagine the Memorial Cup will be played this close to my home anytime soon, therefore I am grateful I had the chance to attend a game in Saginaw!

Some of these 2nd and 3rd tier leagues are super fun.

Glad you had a good time in Saginaw. The memorial cup is arguably the 3rd biggest hockey tourney in the world behind the Stanley cup and world juniors. OHL has always relied on talent from USA/Michigan. Was cool they finally hosted the tourney in MI. Even better that Saginaw got their revenge against London!

Thank you for the comment! I totally agree, I’m glad Saginaw won too. I watched the last period of the championship from home once I was done with work 🙏🏻
