I'd have given my last pair of trousers to be a page turner at that performance. Shame about some of the poor camera work. When will the qualification to be a music video director and editor include being able to read a music score, and listen to/watch the piece being rehearsed several times before final filming?
Superb ... until a stupid ad at 9' broke the charm 😫 ! I was nearly to put a thumb down, I didn't do it by respect for all the 8 artists who couldn't know ...
Spudboy41 That's one of those trolling comments, isn't it? I like Mozart AND Rossini, but I'm afraid that even the King of Melody, and the Crown Prince of Melody never outdid the God of Melody at least one, two, three, four, five times... Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata, Fifth Symphony, Ninth Symphony, and the Emperor Concerto (2nd mvt). Schubert never even got in that neighborhood, although the Trout and the Impromptu No. 4, Ave Maria and the Italian Overture in C were all great works in terms of pure melody. Mozart and Rossini were the only composers who consistently approached Beethoven in greatness of raw melody alone. Handel only did it once, Vivaldi once, Bizet once, etc. But what of Tchaikovsky? There's an argument we haven't considered yet... but not Schubert. Though he was still one of the greatest melodists who ever lived...
it is a lack of respect, to which the name of the creator of this beautiful work has not been put! Carl Czerny did this wonderful job
Is he the arranger?
@@ripinpepperonies9754 Yes
Rossini
@@sabrekeene814 no, Rossini and Czerny
Not exactly, Czerny made a version for 8 pianos and 32 hands, so it’s not this one

Son of a bitch because they do not put the name of Carl Czerny ??????? Czerny arranged this work
No one cares.
What a brilliant melodist Rossini was. Only Mozart and Beethoven were better at pure melody.
Schubert was way better than Beethoven in terms of melody..

Puccini...
I you are using 'melody' to mean 'tune' then Verdi surpassed every composer.
