But in all honesty, if a song is this gender specific, you should be inclined to pass and sing something else regardless of how much you love the Track!!! For example, let's take POWER OF LOVE for instance... There is nothing more AWFUL than a male Karaoke singing, "..Cuz I'm YOU'RE LADY and YOU'RE MY MAN..." Now this is slightly higher level gender lyrics modification (which typically entails "WOMAN -> MAN, GIRL -> , SHE -> HE, HER-> HIM/HIS, BOY, or M/F ->THE ONE" etc) because it actually requires altering more than ONE WORD, but imagine how awesome it sounds if the audience is watching the lyrics flashing by on the Big Screen, and you the Karaoke Star on your own creatively sang it properly (Like Air Supply's Amazing Remake) by singing, " ... Cuz YOU ARE MY LADY and I am YOUR MAN!!!" *I mean to all you Karaoke Performers, Stuck-in-Traffic Soloists, and Shower-Singing American Idols, do you guys do the same nonsensical thing??? If so, please do yourself a favor and CUT THAT SHT OUT and break that bad habit ASAP out!!! I was about 14 or 15 years old when REO Speedwagon first came out. Loved them from the word go. This song brings back so many great memories of high school, my friends, and my first summer vacation in Europe. Great version of this great song.
Great plot for a song, I feel like I am in a really top of the line romance but the other just does not take me serious and I am the fool. Makes me feel like a fool, but I know that I am perfect in my end of the deal and it is great, real freeing song.
I caught one of REO's concerts a couple days ago on AXS TV, and while I know them from their hits like this, "Time for Me to Fly" and "Keep on Loving You", they also surprised me on how hard they can rock, for a band that has been around for a long time! Sara did a good job with this, I must say; this must've been from a "CMT Crossroads" episode!
