      they just need to keep the guy sub 10%bf, he NEEDS to lose some mass, it won't hurt him in the paint that much, dude's built like a demigod. They have the means to shave off his flab and keep the godlike strength.

    • @LukyBlakat
      @LukyBlakat 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      He really don’t. The issue isn’t his weight, it’s his landing mechanics. Dudes a freak of nature, that’s why he can jump so high. If he can produce that amount of force to go up that high with that mass, he has the strength to land PROPERLY. That’s what derailed D Rose’s career at 190 lbs, he had horrible mechanics. Then look at Westbrook. Dude was an iron man until that Pat Bev incident. It’s not nuclear athleticism that’s the issue, it’s all in the way you run, jump, and move in general. The way Rose landed every time was stressing his joints and ligaments when it should have been his muscles doing the work. And Zion has a lot of muscle to work with. Go watch any highlight reel of Fred VanVleet, dude breaks his fall on every layup. What he’s doing is he’s redirecting and dispersing the force elsewhere instead of absorbing it all into his legs. The way Zion lands makes me cringe sometimes, so I’m afraid his career might be plagued by injuries.

    • @RagingRugbyst

      I don’t agree with the Lonzo pairing. Imagine paring him with a guard who can run pick and roll and be a legit threat to pass/score from actions involving either one of them. Lonzo is good passing in transition, and is a good defender. I just think his lack of scoring threat keeps him from being zions perfect running mate. Imagine a prime Conley or a dame lillard with Zion? In terms of youngguards I think funnily enough that ja morant is probably the perfect match for him

    I think the ceiling for Zion is a Giannis type talent and player. His bread and butter is always going to be his drives to the rim and absolutely insane athleticism but it's not inconceivable that he could work the level of playmaking, ball handling, shot creation, craftiness, and occasional 3 point shooting that Giannis has into his game. The biggest concern for me is will his body hold up. 6'6" is just not meant to handle 285 lbs over multiple 82 game seasons of basketball

    I think he is good because he has a lot of effort. What he does is not something spetacular surreal, but most people don't do it because they're lazy, check most of centers, they don't try much, not even the good ones. Look at how unathletic Jokic is, he doesn't try much (physically speaking). Jokic is really good, but imagine how good he would be if he took care of his body and put more effort in his game. What Zion does is not something different, but it's beautifull because he puts so much effort on this that it works, just like Antetokounmpo

    Zion's build has to lead people to question his future durability. I disagree. He's making passes most forwards could only dream of making out of double teams.
    We heard it all. He can only dunk. All hype. He won't be able to score in the NBA other than in the paint, and his handles/passing aren't great. But one thing Zion is great is picking his shots, working the post, and grabbing rebounds with the ferocity of Rodman reincarnated. He never gives up a play.
    Zion, Luka, Ja Morant, Trae, Tatum, and a lot more studs are the future of the NBA. And I'm fucking excited to watch this new brand of basketball.

    He's still so raw offensively too. He is gonna be trouble for the rest of the league for a while unless he doesn't add to his game (which is very unlikely)

    It's amazing that we have a player that abuses small players. It's like Jalen Rose said the other day: most big men in the league don't use size mismatches to their advantage anymore. They aren't dominant enough in that regard.
