Gothic metal is largely unrelated to 'proper' goth music. It just refers to the lyrical themes of tragic love, loss, mourning, etc. But try early Lacuna Coil (In a Reverie, Unleashed Memories, Comalies), Theater of Tragedy and Leaves' Eyes (same singer), maybe Within Temptation. For more industrial-ish stuff check out Gothiminister and Turmion Kätilöt.
Wikipedia is garbage when it comes to music genres. Half the time it is incorrect, plus they are sorely lacking in variety. If anything, check out Metal-Archives.
