    @Neofolis 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +9

    Amazing again for Faith, but shout out to Jess Hull, now 5th all time and stayed with Faith until the last 300m. She was definitely rewarded for her hearless approach.
    Mondo's 3rd WR attempt was also pretty close, so Paris nearly matched the 3 WR's from last years meet.
    I also want to mention Yarslava breaking the 37 year old women's High Jump WR, despite the training difficulties for Ukranian athletes. She's still really young and if Angelina Topic keeps improving, they could push each other to even greater heights. Obviously there are many other good female high jumpers around, I just mention Topic, because of the huge potential at only 18 years old.

In an Era where a million people tune in to see what kind of soft drink that LeBron James or Patrick Mahomes drinks, it's refreshing to see comments on these other athletes, especially about their character or personality. I'll get back to you on my own favorite events and some of the athletes we really enjoy. Many of us were also in sports like swimming and track and gymnastics and skating and wrestling, so we've some idea of what goes into it. Myself? I've been following sports like track since the early 1970's. World Championships and Olympics have always been special. I couldn't even begin to list my favorites, and we pull for athletes all over the World. The 800, 1,500, 4×400, you name it. They're all riveting. I'll get back here with a few names.

      @crosslink1493 P.S. In October of 2023, my Chicago Sister (I live in Milwaukee) took me to watch the Chicago Marathon. We watched an Ethopian man named KELVIN KIPTON @ the 24 mile mark before Kelvin broke the Marathon record at 2 hours and 35 seconds. He looked like a gazelle with these beautiful strides and going at not much over 4 minutes a mile. A combination of the man on this site and Usain Boldt. Kelvin was only 22 years old, and would've been the favorite in 2024 Paris; but a few months after the Chicago Marathon, he passed away in a car crash. But we got to see such a great achievement, and there'll be more in the years ahead.

And Faith broke that 2015 WR by a second and was approaching it a number of times. To then break it again and have someone else beat their PB by 5 seconds and come within 2s of this new WR is crazy. Records set with pacesetters and with the Wavelight should not count. Go to the line, run your fastest without assistance, let's see what happens. These are always such an advantage over runners in the past who were going fast but didn't have the extra help. It's not that Kepyegon is a fake. It's that such races are invalid, in my mind.

Faith is a magnificent athlete and I'm sure she will win in Paris no mater what the tactics are to beat her. Jessica Hull ran the 8th fastest 1500 m in history behind her; such a magnificent effort. @@veridicusmaximus6010 no one takes field seriously. Not even the athletics organisation themselves. This is a known fact. Please swallow that bitter pill❤️

      Good one. There are carbon shoes, bouncy tracks, multiple pacers and wave light technology in these Diamond League events. Multiple rounds in the Olympics and I doubt all the favourites will make the finals.

    Beating a previous time does not automatically mean that it "smashes" the old record.

    How do you upload so fast. Like do you already have most of the video made and you just add footage of races and add a voice over? Or do you really just start making a video once you see something cool.

      How would you habe most of the video already if the video has cuts from the race and the times too?

    Kipyegon might be the best 1,500 meter runner of all time, so breaking her own world record is nothing new for me. But Hull? Someone like her doesn’t drop 7 seconds at this age in a short amount of time. Just ignore that Nike swoosh on her singlet, she was part of NOP with banned doping coach alberto salazar. I’ll be curious if she can repeat a similar race at the Olympics since testing is much more stringent there. If she can’t go under 3:57 at the Olympics, then you know this was a highly 'aided' performance.
