Yep, exactly. My vet asked the same thing. Not only that, this can help others identify what may be wrong with their furry baby. My little boy has FelV and gets seizures (had three today). Thing is, you CAN'T do anything except stay by there side and make sure they're in a safe place. Once they've calmed down, then you wrap them up and comfort them.

My cat had what I thought was a seizure but then begged for food after she came to. She literally walked to the food dish and cried till I fed her. Low blood sugar? We made the mistake of feeding her friskies for two days after being on raw. Then into the evening closer to dinner it looked like she was having a seizure. Maybe friskies was a toxic bad batch? (Recalls have happened before)Maybe she had low blood sugar from the sudden switch. I was out of raw. My big mistake. If its low blood sugar maybe she was telling me. By that time I had raw made for dinner so I gave her that. She didn't want to sleep. She was walking around after eating. Didnt seem exhausted after the food. Shes smart to. She tells me stuff. It's weird. She hasn't been diagnosed with diabetes though. So off to the vet we go.

To the people complaining: most vets demand the owner to record a seizure for a better diagnosis. never touch a seizuring cat, it can bite you which can be life threatening. you cant do anything against it anyway. best thing to do is to remove everything that can hurt the cat and just let it happen until it stops. bring it to the vet afterwards ofc.

I don't have the money for a vet right now. So being able to do some research and see what is going on is very helpful. No decent person wants to see an animal suffering. i’m also epileptic, i’m not super open to it because i always been disgusted when i look at myself having a seizure. i dont like to watch my eyes rolling out of my head or my hands clenching up, its just uncomfortable to watch.

When I was younger I always had my seizures while awake, but in recent years I have always passed out with epileptic seizures. But still I will never forget the pain from back then

In case anyone is wondering, no, there is no such thing as something that can be injected into them when they are having such seizures. Those shitty movies that misrepresent real-world medical emergencies are giving you the wrong idea.
also you cant pick them up. you only want to take them in once the seizure has stopped OR if it hasn't stopped after 5-10 minutes. The seizures increase a cat's body temperature which can cause serious damage or be fatal if it goes on long enough. My cat Scooter usually has 1 grand mal every month, compared to 2 months ago where she was having a focal seizure every 15 min from her old medication that gave her a bad reaction. It's so hard to see, but I hope this video can help educate people on the signs and know when to take your pet in.
If your cat is having seizures try turning off your wifi at night (and any hours you're not home or out at work). Some cats may have a high sensitivity to EMF (electro magnetic frequencies) that transmit from wifi modems or routers that I believe can cause seizures. My cat no longer has seizures so this little trick definitely worked for me. Let me know how it goes if you try it.

It is really heartbreaking watching it, my cat use to do it 5-6 times a week and sometimes 2/3 times a day, but after medication, she does it very less often like once in a week but I believe even the medication can not cure it or even stop it, medication only brings th numbers down
The same thing happened to my cat but he kept shaking like this for hours until he died I tried to help him so I rushed to the vet they gave him something to help but it didn’t, it’s now my second week without him , he was the only happiness in my life 🖤

Seizures can occur in any cat. They can be idiopathic, meaning the cause is unknown, or it could be the cause of a disease, like rabies. Hope these poor kitties don't have rabies.
This is so sad. In the olden days they put human epileptics on a strict keto diet and it helped a lot even stopping some people from having seizures at all. Now with CBD oil and coconut oil these cats/kittens be helped. Cats are an obligatory carnivore so people please read the labels of your kitty food. Maybe some cats can be helped by cutting down a bit of the kibble and adding raw meat bits occasionally. My cats eat raw beef and pork and cooked chicken breast. Sometimes I'll get them some chicken hearts for the taurine. I hope some of this info will help someone or some kitty out there. The one man with the cat that had the shaved belly was talking to it in German. Saying its ok sweetie its ok. He said schatzi which translates to treasure (pirate booty) but we use it also as a sweetie name, like you are my treasure. Poor kitties.
Yeah, unfortunately many people don't believe in nature remedies. They always follow vet advices (which are good sometimes), but those vets also sell u kibbles which are known to be bad. I won't say nature remedies will cure seizures in cats, but I do believe they help and reduce the frequencies.
One of my cats has had grand mal seizures since the age of four. It started in 2020, and she’s had at least one seizure every 1-2 months since, like clockwork. We never found out the cause, and the vets didn’t know either. Our other, older cat has thyroid and digestive problems, so in the late spring of this year, our vet put him on a prescription diet. Our cat who has had seizures started eating his food along with him, and hasn’t had a seizure in four months (fingers crossed). Diet isn’t always the cause of feline seizures, but I find it curious that once we switched from commercial food to prescription, she hasn’t had one seizure. If you cat suffers from seizures as well, tell your vet that may be something to look into.

the lifting of the head with their eye going blank is horrid but it’s an amazing warning to get ready for once. my mom has epilepsy, she has everything to go with them. Screaming, foaming at the mouth, etc. For me, every single time, it’s traumatic! but that’s life. My first cat had a seizure, looking like this when she was dying of kidney failure. I took her immediatly to the vet for the final shot. She was 19. Now I have one kitten who has diagnosed with epilepsy. However he doesn't have convulsions when he has an attack.

I saw saw my cat have a seizure when it was 15 years old. Now, I realised that what I was seeing for the first time, wasn’t it’s first episode but probably one of many since the way she behaved after it, with a far away look and as though she didn’t recognise me, was something I have seen before but I wasn’t aware she had had a seizure. When I saw it for the first time, I freaked out. Not knowing what to do, I picked her up wrapped her in my arms and started massaging her. She came good. But then she had another two within short intervals. I took her to the vet immediately. She was sedated and blanketed. There didn’t seem to be anything they could attribute it to. Cats become catatonic for some reason. It has something to do with electrolytes in the body. Keep them hydrated. Don’t use chemicals around the house and feed them special dietary food. Don’t over excite them. Be gentle and affectionate and don’t patronise them and don’t amuse yourself with them. If you see it happening, warmth and massage helps. Afterwards put them in a dark room with a bowl of water and encourage them to sleep. There are also sleeping medication you can give them to help restore electrolyte levels. Don’t over excite a cat that is prone to seizures. Don’t amuse yourselves with them. And be genuine around them since cats don’t have anyone to turn to. An update; the vet gave her back to me heavily sedated and she told me that she would sleep it off but that if she was still zonked out, to return to the vet. The poor darling died overnight in her sleep. Since it was only one episode I had witnessed of three seizures in a row, I imagine it was a heart seizure although the vet could not have confirmed this without doing further tests. At 15 years, in their twilight years, if a cat has a seizure, consider it serious. Today I’m mourning. She was a sweet thing.

They are all poor babies 😪💔...., was looking how cat's seizure looks like as yesterday my fur babie Kira had some very strong fits when she was under blanket cuddling to my legs, I got deeply scratches on my legs to the blood, after this incident she was sooo confused and scared, later she was afraid to hide under blanket again. It broke my heart to see her that way, I love her so much, she is a whole world to me ❤️❤️. It's so heartbreaking to see all those babies suffering that way 💔

I'm glad your cat died. I mean really, it was probably absolutely terrified up to it's last few moments. It didn't understand why you wouldn't protect them. Scared, helpless. The moment until it died it was thinking "What did I do wrong? Why is this happening to me? Why is my family not protecting me?" and then poof. Gone. It's last moments spent in absolute agony.
My kitten has seizures like the one at 8:06 . He is unable to walk for a day or two after and for a few hours after it he is dazed and just keeps moving his head back and eyes wide. Sometimes he loses bladder control but hes strong enough to crawl to the litter box now that he's bigger. Gonna bring him to the vet soon and see if I can get an official diagnosis to see what the problem is :(
@@LM-asAboveSoBelow-... hi it actually has helped . I didn't think I'd say that a year ago but it's helped to help control some of them as they dropped from about two a week to two a month. He needs more solid treatment but yes it helps. It's CBD hemp four drops twice a day. 😊

It's sad that that shake is so recognizable. I remember when my cat started doing it. I didn't know it was seizures. I thought it was a flea or him being silly. As it happened more and more, I could see it coming before it happened and now it is so sadly abundantly clear when I see it happen in any cat.
sometimes the vets need video proof of what’s happening and confirm how bad the seizures are and for the most part you can’t do anything but watch and make sure they stay safe could depend butusually it’s something you just have to sit back and watch until it’s over then do whatever to comfort and overcom it

We have diazepam to put up my cats arse when he's having a bad one but he doesn't tend to move all over the place so we are quite lucky in that aspect

It is really heartbreaking watching it, my cat use to do it 5-6 times a week and sometimes 2/3 times a day, but after medication, she does it very less often like once in a week but I believe even the medication can not cure it or even stop it, medication only brings th numbers down

I tried to help him so I rushed to the vet they gave him something to help but it didn’t, it’s now my second week without him , he was the only happiness in my life 🖤

Seizures can occur in any cat. They can be idiopathic, meaning the cause is unknown, or it could be the cause of a disease, like rabies. Hope these poor kitties don't have rabies.

This is so sad. In the olden days they put human epileptics on a strict keto diet and it helped a lot even stopping some people from having seizures at all. Now with CBD oil and coconut oil these cats/kittens be helped. Cats are an obligatory carnivore so people please read the labels of your kitty food. Maybe some cats can be helped by cutting down a bit of the kibble and adding raw meat bits occasionally. My cats eat raw beef and pork and cooked chicken breast. Sometimes I'll get them some chicken hearts for the taurine. I hope some of this info will help someone or some kitty out there. The one man with the cat that had the shaved belly was talking to it in German. Saying its ok sweetie its ok. He said schatzi which translates to treasure (pirate booty) but we use it also as a sweetie name, like you are my treasure. Poor kitties.
Yeah, unfortunately many people don't believe in nature remedies. They always follow vet advices (which are good sometimes), but those vets also sell u kibbles which are known to be bad. I won't say nature remedies will cure seizures in cats, but I do believe they help and reduce the frequencies.

One of my cats has had grand mal seizures since the age of four. It started in 2020, and she’s had at least one seizure every 1-2 months since, like clockwork. We never found out the cause, and the vets didn’t know either.
Our other, older cat has thyroid and digestive problems, so in the late spring of this year, our vet put him on a prescription diet. Our cat who has had seizures started eating his food along with him, and hasn’t had a seizure in four months (fingers crossed).
Diet isn’t always the cause of feline seizures, but I find it curious that once we switched from commercial food to prescription, she hasn’t had one seizure. If you cat suffers from seizures as well, tell your vet that may be something to look into.

Edit: also a terrifying move to see from someone you know who is seizure prone is when they do this ominous slow turn, my epileptic friend did that move before falling over and then started convulsing and jolting, the turn affects cats, dogs, humans, and other seizure prone animals
Keep in mind that seizures are usually from large bursts of electricity from the brain into the nervous system and or is caused by over stress, lights, and many other things

Now I have one kitten who has diagnosed with epilepsy. However he doesn't have convulsions when he has an attack.

Thank you for compiling this. It helped me confirm my cat was having a diabetic grand mal seizure (I'd only seen them in dogs before). Reminder to everyone not to touch a seizing animal OR PERSON unless they are in immediate harm's way (ex. near something they could knock over and hurt themselves)

I saw saw my cat have a seizure when it was 15 years old. Now, I realised that what I was seeing for the first time, wasn’t it’s first episode but probably one of many since the way she behaved after it, with a far away look and as though she didn’t recognise me, was something I have seen before but I wasn’t aware she had had a seizure. When I saw it for the first time, I freaked out. Not knowing what to do, I picked her up wrapped her in my arms and started massaging her. She came good. But then she had another two within short intervals. I took her to the vet immediately. She was sedated and blanketed. There didn’t seem to be anything they could attribute it to. Cats become catatonic for some reason. It has something to do with electrolytes in the body. Keep them hydrated. Don’t use chemicals around the house and feed them special dietary food. Don’t over excite them. Be gentle and affectionate and don’t patronise them and don’t amuse yourself with them. If you see it happening, warmth and massage helps. Afterwards put them in a dark room with a bowl of water and encourage them to sleep. There are also sleeping medication you can give them to help restore electrolyte levels. Don’t over excite a cat that is prone to seizures. Don’t amuse yourselves with them. And be genuine around them since cats don’t have anyone to turn to.
An update; the vet gave her back to me heavily sedated and she told me that she would sleep it off but that if she was still zonked out, to return to the vet. The poor darling died overnight in her sleep. Since it was only one episode I had witnessed of three seizures in a row, I imagine it was a heart seizure although the vet could not have confirmed this without doing further tests. At 15 years, in their twilight years, if a cat has a seizure, consider it serious. Today I’m mourning. She was a sweet thing.

They are all poor babies 😪💔...., was looking how cat's seizure looks like as yesterday my fur babie Kira had some very strong fits when she was under blanket cuddling to my legs, I got deeply scratches on my legs to the blood, after this incident she was sooo confused and scared, later she was afraid to hide under blanket again. It broke my heart to see her that way, I love her so much, she is a whole world to me ❤️❤️. It's so heartbreaking to see all those babies suffering that way 💔

My poor wife had to see this. Our cat had one and didn't come out of it. I know he was scared and I couldn't protect him in any way. 🥺 I still look to where he'd greet me everyday after work.

I'm glad your cat died. I mean really, it was probably absolutely terrified up to it's last few moments. It didn't understand why you wouldn't protect them. Scared, helpless. The moment until it died it was thinking "What did I do wrong? Why is this happening to me? Why is my family not protecting me?" and then poof. Gone. It's last moments spent in absolute agony.

My kitten has seizures like the one at 8:06 . He is unable to walk for a day or two after and for a few hours after it he is dazed and just keeps moving his head back and eyes wide. Sometimes he loses bladder control but hes strong enough to crawl to the litter box now that he's bigger. Gonna bring him to the vet soon and see if I can get an official diagnosis to see what the problem is :(

The filming helps. You can't touch the cat or it will make them crazier. Only comfort them when the seizure stops.

@@LM-asAboveSoBelow-... hi it actually has helped . I didn't think I'd say that a year ago but it's helped to help control some of them as they dropped from about two a week to two a month. He needs more solid treatment but yes it helps. It's CBD hemp four drops twice a day. 😊

It's sad that that shake is so recognizable. I remember when my cat started doing it. I didn't know it was seizures. I thought it was a flea or him being silly. As it happened more and more, I could see it coming before it happened and now it is so sadly abundantly clear when I see it happen in any cat.

sometimes the vets need video proof of what’s happening and confirm how bad the seizures are and for the most part you can’t do anything but watch and make sure they stay safe could depend butusually it’s something you just have to sit back and watch until it’s over then do whatever to comfort and overcom it
