A really fun detail in the new village is that the Hell Hunters from Kokoto are back! From the shots of the new canteen you can see the two of them sitting at the table in the back, right below the little palico train

From what I’ve seen these are the sets that you can see: Aknosom, somnacanth, shogun cenataur, lunagaron, royal ludroth, basarios, barioth, jyratodus, garramgolm, zinogre, tigrex, rathalos, diablos, rathian, blood orange Bishaten, Bishaten, khezu, and tobi kodachi! Love it all!
What's the set from the hunter who's more on the right hand side? This Bird feather looking armor? I think thats a completely new monster. Also in Rise right now, Rondines ship shows a bird on the shields behind her as well as every knight so far had a bird broche on their armor. I think they are teasing something new. The mentioned armors leg piece also shows some kind of bird claw aesthetic that doesn't match every Monster that has been shown so far.
Really pumped to know it’s coming end of June, I’ve been listening to the podcast since it started and I was convinced we were gonna get a late summer release since the marketing has been fairly minimal up to this point but I am so happy to be wrong. Lunagaron has quickly become one of my favourite monsters, I’ve been waiting for a werewolf monster forever and as much as I miss Zamtrios the ice armour has always been such a clever touch. The new map looks fantastic and I wouldn’t be upset to learn that the guiding lands formula could provide a staple for the ‘Ultimate’ releases going forward, really helps keep the map and monsters fresh and exciting. My checklist now just includes the return of Lagi, Zamtrios, Nibelsnarf, and just maybe we’ll get a fun tropical map to kick back and kick monster tail.
At 2:06 to 2:12 the monster uses his magma 🌋 fist ✊ to launch himself into the air and then attacks with his water 🌊fist ✊when he comes down.( If that isn't good tactics I don't know what it is) great video Gaijin Hunter Hope you see this comment and see what I'm talking about.
Personally really stoked to have subspecies confirmed back! Hopefully they come up with something creative for Mizutsune and Astalos(and fingers crossed for returning Gammoth too)!
Hot damn, thanks for the zoomin on the critters flying around Malzeno. I thought they were a kind of Moth at first (which would be a cool spin on the phrase "Like a Moth to a Flame," considering how Malzeno lured Rathalos with them in the reveal trailer), but they're legit flying leeches. Considering how annoying Giggis could be in 3U, that's kinda terrifying. I wouldn't be surprised if we see another locale or two. We all know that there will be some kind of True Final Boss beyond the Three Lords (It's a MonHun tradition at this point), so it'll probably have its own map. But man, the Citadel looks MASSIVE. I'm glad there's no time limit on the gathering quests now, I'll probably need a few hours to explore every nook and cranny of the region and gather as many G Rank (Imma still call it that because it's easier) materials as I can. Legit even more hyped for E3 than before. I know Capcom is gonna give us plenty of advertising over April and May, but E3 is literally a couple weeks before Sunbreak, so I imagine Capcom is gonna have one HELL of a final trailer at the event to really get people hyped. Super excited!!!
That pre order "Loyal Dog Costume..." I'm crying cause it reminds me of goodest boy of all time Hachiko, but also, I kinda want my very own Hachiko... I think we all need a cuddly, good doggo like that to sit in our lap, acting like a puppy even though he's a big dog... I'm totally crying cause of the Hachiko story... not because I had to put down my bestest buddy, nope, not even a little... dammit...
Preordered and booked a two week holiday for release - very excited! I like that they haven't shown a whole lot so there is more to discover. I woud love to hear about things like layered weapons though.
Considering every monhun game has like, a hidden ultimate elder dragon boss, I wonder what Sunbreak's will be and what horror monster it'll be based on.

Hachikō would go to meet his owner at the train station every day after work, one day the owner died and never made it home, Hachikō continued to wait for him at the train station, surviving off of the food that people would bring for him, Hachikō died after waiting for his owner for 9 years at that train station. Many shrines were erected to remember the world's most loyal dog. Tama saved the Kishigawa railway line from being demolished by becoming the station master and the mascot of the railway. When she died thousands of people came to Tama's funeral and she was named Goddess of the Wakayama Electric Railway.
The official art does give the vibe that we may get npc hunter allies during the hunt... or maybe they would be a similar role with the ace hunters in 4u

The armored part on the first monster reminds me of the Gammoth as well as the ones you've mentionned. With World/Iceborne that highly participated in popularising the franchise to the western countries, I like how Rise kinda merge western and eastern designs and culture through this new expansion, with Kamura and the new village. Completed main game on switch a month or two after release and felt like it was missing something that world had to hook me and havnt returned. Excited to get back into it after this launches ( for context I’ve got about 500 hours in world )
I'm SUPER excited for new Silkbind moves and potential shake ups and new choices with the switch skill system. I would love for them to allow any silkbind to be combined with any other silkbind instead of having one locked in all the time or bound to a specific slot. I'm really hoping it closes the gap between some of the more OP weapons and the ones that have unfortunately fallen far behind. That new Lance silkbind looked badass as all getout. If they also rework some of its MVs I might go back to ol' reliable - the pokey stick. It'd be interesting if the orange string mount is required to mount master rank monsters, or elder dragons or something and they take out the normal mounting system so A: people don't have to wait if they don't want to mount, making it a more deliberate action and B: Something you have to go out of your way to get that free damage/down that a mount provides. My Sunbreak Wishlist: Any silkbind in any slot, freely allowing you to combine any 2 silkbinds New Switch skills! Extract Hunter for IG! More MV for lance play(less reliant on Silkbinds to do like 70% of lance damage lol) Fulgur Anjanath - my favorite subspecies from Iceborne Ballerina Mountain Lagiacrus, always lagiacrus.
If anyone is wondering what would the rampage have as a western equivalent since the inspiration for the rampage in Kamura is the Hyakki Yagyo or the Night Parade of a Thousand Demons. The western version is called "the Wild Hunt."

New lil wyvern mobs gobs need merch, but I wonder why they have hair. I wonder what a big version of the gobbo wyverns would be like. Running up walls without having to use wirebugs is also such a neat addition too, saving us wirebug usage when we really need it. Malzeno bugs though, are they some form of kinsect? Can Malzeno use them in its attacks and are they their own type of monster like the Bhanabra or Altaroth? I hope they have a "secret boss" like Ibushi and Nahrwa as well after you beat the Lords. I'm definitely looking forward to the new Silkbinds and more monster reveals. See the returning monsters and the variants.
After getting obsessed with the souls series (particularly bloodborne), going back to monster hunter with a western aesthetic is going to be amazing. The only thing that could possibly make me more excited for this game is if they add my girl Gammoth
I really hopes that sunbreak is 1 more difficult 2 gives me apex armour 3 has a endgame 4 I hope we get post launch support similar to iceborne with a drip feed of monsters over a year
@@rosegod444 yes but so did rise the difference is iceborne did the drip feed model for a year while rise got it in 2 big doses not super long after realise and that's it . i just think the iceborne model of a new monster every couple months in the way to go
I dunno. With mizutsune already in the base game and astalos coming for the expansion, there may be a chance of them not adding the remaining two monsters from the fated four. However if they decided to add gammoth then there is a chance that the four monsters will be in the expansion.
I was just looking at my MH Illustrations art book recently and saw the hunter and palico Giggi gear. They can't not put her in the game 😭 it's too fitting, especially the vampire cat gear and the coffin hunting horn
Heard that garangolm is similar to voljang and after watching gameplay of Frontier, looks right. The slam was seen with voljang which also has the fire element. Hopefully we see more similar moves, especially since they are both apes!
I mean just looking at Lunagaron makes me feel we are getting closer to Frontier monsters every day lol. No one can say for sure but, with reworks, Frontier, Online and Explore monsters would be great additions and I dont think they will hold off forever unless there are licensing issues.
Hi Gaijin, do you think the way they designed the map would somehow relate to next gen MH titles which is trying to set up open world game mechanics ? Cuz it’s 20th anniversary, I feel like they are planning to go big . They probably could have been experimenting since Iceborne Guilding lands to see how well the transition would be between one locale to another one. Just a random thought .

lol you were like me, in my state of just waking up, mistaking the gorilla for for duramberos until i saw his full body. i love this guy, he's a new gorilla, like a real new one not subspecies or whatever, it's been 16 god dam years! now all we need is a new crab, which we have the skeleton for, and all the MH2 skeletons will have at least gotten a new monster since that gen. hey bring bak gigginox since he has been gone for a while and is the only sudowyvern to be added in gen 3 and onward. with the raptor i was right in the fact that the things sticking out of his head, in the dark silhouette image they showed on twitter, were ears not horns because they curled in opposing directions like one back and one forward. i'm curious to know what was sticking out its mouth in that image though, is it a clue of its element/status effect? duel element garangolm duel blades with a unique model please and thank you. mixed maps aren't new, even excluding everwood/guiding lands, but those tend to only mix 2 types where this mixes 3 so that's cool. i'm hoping the 3 lords are close to equal, not having an obvious hierarchy where malzeno is at the top being the elder dragon. it would be cooler if the other 2 were elder dragon level like raang. it would also mean lunagaron is the srongest fanged wyvern in the series being able to go toe to toe with an elder with no varient/subspecies buffs and just being the base monster.
Yeah, there are certain armor sets I only craft in G-rank because I just don't like the aesthetics of the lesser versions -- Tigrex, Teostra, Barioth, Garuga to name a few...

MH Rise is my first MH game and now it's my favorite game of all time! Have been waiting BOTW2 for a long time Zelda has been my favorite since ocarina of time and I can't be leave I'm just as excited about SUNBREAK!

The other hunters in the trailer are wearing bishaten, aknosom, and somnacanth. Hoping that means the later 2 are getting sub species as well!

New lil wyvern mobs gobs need merch, but I wonder why they have hair. I wonder what a big version of the gobbo wyverns would be like. Running up walls without having to use wirebugs is also such a neat addition too, saving us wirebug usage when we really need it.
Malzeno bugs though, are they some form of kinsect? Can Malzeno use them in its attacks and are they their own type of monster like the Bhanabra or Altaroth? I hope they have a "secret boss" like Ibushi and Nahrwa as well after you beat the Lords.

Well I finally did it and bought Rise on PC as well. Got a nice vacation coming up so I'll probably plow through it soon. Gonna main Greatsword on PC.

After getting obsessed with the souls series (particularly bloodborne), going back to monster hunter with a western aesthetic is going to be amazing. The only thing that could possibly make me more excited for this game is if they add my girl Gammoth

@@rosegod444 yes but so did rise the difference is iceborne did the drip feed model for a year while rise got it in 2 big doses not super long after realise and that's it .
i just think the iceborne model of a new monster every couple months in the way to go

I dunno. With mizutsune already in the base game and astalos coming for the expansion, there may be a chance of them not adding the remaining two monsters from the fated four. However if they decided to add gammoth then there is a chance that the four monsters will be in the expansion.
I feel like the ability to basically fly with wirebugs mitigates having separated areas for progression.

I was just looking at my MH Illustrations art book recently and saw the hunter and palico Giggi gear. They can't not put her in the game 😭 it's too fitting, especially the vampire cat gear and the coffin hunting horn

Heard that garangolm is similar to voljang and after watching gameplay of Frontier, looks right. The slam was seen with voljang which also has the fire element. Hopefully we see more similar moves, especially since they are both apes!
I mean just looking at Lunagaron makes me feel we are getting closer to Frontier monsters every day lol.
No one can say for sure but, with reworks, Frontier, Online and Explore monsters would be great additions and I dont think they will hold off forever unless there are licensing issues.
Capcom always delivers a good experience, I just hope they make this expansion HARD, difficulty is what was lacking in the base game
Hi Gaijin, do you think the way they designed the map would somehow relate to next gen MH titles which is trying to set up open world game mechanics ? Cuz it’s 20th anniversary, I feel like they are planning to go big .
They probably could have been experimenting since Iceborne Guilding lands to see how well the transition would be between one locale to another one.

lol you were like me, in my state of just waking up, mistaking the gorilla for for duramberos until i saw his full body. i love this guy, he's a new gorilla, like a real new one not subspecies or whatever, it's been 16 god dam years! now all we need is a new crab, which we have the skeleton for, and all the MH2 skeletons will have at least gotten a new monster since that gen. hey bring bak gigginox since he has been gone for a while and is the only sudowyvern to be added in gen 3 and onward. with the raptor i was right in the fact that the things sticking out of his head, in the dark silhouette image they showed on twitter, were ears not horns because they curled in opposing directions like one back and one forward. i'm curious to know what was sticking out its mouth in that image though, is it a clue of its element/status effect? duel element garangolm duel blades with a unique model please and thank you. mixed maps aren't new, even excluding everwood/guiding lands, but those tend to only mix 2 types where this mixes 3 so that's cool. i'm hoping the 3 lords are close to equal, not having an obvious hierarchy where malzeno is at the top being the elder dragon. it would be cooler if the other 2 were elder dragon level like raang. it would also mean lunagaron is the srongest fanged wyvern in the series being able to go toe to toe with an elder with no varient/subspecies buffs and just being the base monster.
I'm so excited to get the G-Rank armor sets back, high rank ones look like crap. Especially my boy Tigrex. Need his g-rank set bad lol
Yeah, there are certain armor sets I only craft in G-rank because I just don't like the aesthetics of the lesser versions -- Tigrex, Teostra, Barioth, Garuga to name a few...
