This guy is honest. Most dentists don't tell you all the cons and what bad things can happened. If I lived near him, I would go to him. I believe he is a good clinician.
Hello!! I just want to say a BIG Public *THANK YOU* to You, Dr. Amin for taking the time to post this video and others like it from yourself about Dental Implants!! I myself am planning to have Full Dental Implants (Uppers and Lowers) put in sometime in the near future as I have recently had all of my teeth extracted about a month ago and am of course in need of teeth that I can live with unlike my Temporary dentures that are so Extremely Difficult to try to use what with all the gagging while trying to eat with them, not being able to feel the roof of my mouth while eating and when I talk, I end up sounding like I'm 88 years old when I'm actually only 48 and find myself whistling at the same time I'm talking, etc. Now, I know that I'm in for a Long Road Ahead of procedures for not only the implanting of the teeth themselves and also for the maintenance of same said teeth, but with people like yourself that are willing to share their knowledge of such things as Dental Implants to people like myself who Need to know about them Really Does Help us in our time of need for such information, and I want you to know that your time and effort is MOST APPRECIATED!! Thanks Again and Take Care!!
RealityDictates Thank you for your very kind words. I enjoy helping people. See if you get get a fixed "PMMA" temporary attached to the implants. This will ELIMINATE the denture asap!
I had six implants put in over five years ago. Four upper and two lower, with bone grafts. When I got my snap in dentures from my regular dentist, the upper denture would rock up and down, and never did fit secure. Also food would get between my gum and denture, making it very painful to eat, and sometimes just to talk. They all came out within a year. The oral surgeon did his 4 upper implants over for free. Two of those have came out. My regular dentist charged me to do his over. My dentist never talked about the possibility of them failing. I was diagnosed with diabetes type II about two years and a half years ago. Just the other day he said It may be best if I just got regular dentures, and never mentioned anything about money. $30,000 for false teeth?
I thought you got an implant to PREVENT bone loss?! You also say if done properly the implant should last a very long time.....then what? Do you have to get it surgically removed then get a new one placed?
Dr. Ramsey, I am impressed with your video. I am 66 and today my VA dentist tried a left rear upper implant and unfortunately we had a sinus tear as he was hammering away. He pack me up and now on antibiotics, My big question no one seems to answer can I use my CPAP machine -it is the nose type, is it too much pressure for the sinus membrane to heal??Thank you in advance
Thank you Dr. Amin, I really appreciate the info. I plan on having one implant ( lower back ) and I am concerned about possible future complications. I live in Toronto and I will be searching for a dental clinic that can help me. I am scared of the idea of drilling into my jawbone.
Thanks, Dr. Amin, for providing such valuable info. You really know your stuff. I used to live in L.A., now in UT. Were I to travel to L.A., hon would I need to remain there in having you do my indicated implants ? Follow~up Q: should avoid mass market implant centers, and if so, why ? Many thanks ! David Magee
Hello... I do have many patients the travel to see me. I have had patients come from all the way across the country in fact... That is quite flattering and humbling! If your treatment is simple, 4 to 7 days in the Burbank area would help me to make sure you are healing well. If advanced, complex bone grafting is needed a good 10 to 14 days would be recommended. I would not advise using large implant supercenters. They are more about quantity than quality. I don't think that body parts such as teeth, should be rushed. I also believe that the same person who has done your examination and work up should be the one who does the surgery and makes the teeth. This requires a highly skilled total solutions provider. ---if you need something like a full mouth bridge, there are a number of visits which you would need to be present for www.burbankdentalimplants.com/prettau-dental-implant-full-mouth-bridge/ Ramsey A. I have full dentures on bottom and top with implants. I have had them for almost 3 years and I have not been able to truly use them. I put them in to look good and take them out to eat. The reason is that they won't stay in. No matter what I try to eat (even things like mashed potatoes), the bottom plate pops right off and then will move around in my mouth. I won't eat in front of anyone because I can take a bite and then have to stick my fingers in my mouth, grab my plate and then put it back on the implants where it will stay until the next bite. I have to grit my teeth in order t keep the dentures in when I do things like talking. I used to have a relatively clear speaking voice but now it is garbled and people are always telling me they don't understand me. I had the same plates before the implants and they didn't fit then either which is why the dentist suggested implants. I think the dentures themselves are faulty. I don't know what to do besides continually going back for them to play around and try different things. I don't have time for that. One of the lower posts on the side where the worse issues are is laying over sideways.
+N Donaldson this is unfortunate and very uncommon. It sounds like you have over dentures that do not fit well. I would suggest seeing a dentist that is more skilled implant dentistry to work out all the problems. You can always convert the implant over dentures to fixed, nonremovable Bridges so that you have no problems with them slipping are coming out. The we speak can also be corrected of course. Find somebody in your area who is the expert. Good luck
I recently had a molar pulled and bone grafting done. Now my jaw and chin are numb. I was tld to wait a year and it would go away. Well I've waited a year and my chin and jaw are still numb. What ca I do? Should I Perdue a settlement, or is there any way of repairing the damage?
hey Dr.Amin , I am 23 years old. I've also had 2 molars pulled out on the left side of the jaw, I had an infection took anti-biotics and had a root canal, started killing 1 nerve . the molar behind it was in very bad condition so the dentist recommended i had it pulled out. As I went on the follow up for the root canal the infection had come back. I asked the dentist for his professional opinion and told me that the infection most likely was at the jaw bone. So he told me the best thing to do was have it pulled out and not continue the root canal. I had it pulled out and he had to scrape the jaw bone. I'm going to have implants done there. id like to know if it was a good choice having them removed , also I dont want to loose more teeth at this age. ps my teeth are in very bad shape. (never had gone to the dentist before)
This video on antibiotics may help: m.th-cam.com/video/MLOxxQHGHeU/w-d-xo.html&client=mv-google If the tooth could not be PREDICTABLY saved, then removal is best. I would have to see you and your xray to be able to tell you exactly what you should have done. I'm sure you are in good hands. Good luck. :-)
I am/was having a pain in my left upper teeth #14. Both #14 , #13 root canal. I went to Dentist and in the x-ray , he found infection as close to sinus and recommended to orthodontics specialist. What are the options I have. Re - root canal or extraction and implant. Before going to specialist do I need to go to oral surgeon to remove infection or it goes away with antibiotic. Thanks. Sundar.
Most infections in teeth are located in the bone. Antibiotics are just a temporary Band-Aid. They will not cure the infection, they will only reduce the bacterial count for a while until proper treatment can be done. The antibiotics will take away your pain temporarily. The most important decision is the restorability of your natural teeth. If these natural teeth are predictively savable and have a good long-term prognosis, then by all means, save them!! Dental implants are a close second place to your natural teeth. If your teeth have a very poor prognosis, then extraction and replacement with dental implants would be a better option. I would need to see you in order to make a diagnosis and treatment plan. I hope this helps….. Good luck
+Ramsey Amin Thanks for your response. Done re-root canal and crown now doing good.I have another issue. Last month I went to India and replaced my upper jaw bridge with two implants for a missing teeth and three crowns. Now after I am back to US , implant crown is moving and Dentist took x-ray and suggested to remove implant because of the bone loss and infection. It is not even a month after the implant and not having pain but only teeth is loose and moving. I was not chewing hard at all since implant. Any thoughts and what are the options I have.Thanks.Sundar.
Excellent videos. Can you recommend detailed aftercare and especially what foods to eat to help build bone? Why are people told after bone grafts to avoid acids and for how long? Great videos. Thank you for taking the time to cover all angles. One does not understand the detrimental effects of tooth lose and how it consumes every waking and sleeping moment, until a tooth or more are lost. Which brings me to another question, after implants were placed front upper and still healing, would a night guard be best to wear if people find themselves grinding while sleeping?
Bone will build in all healthy individuals. Do not smoke! Acidic foods are more a problem for cavity formation than bone healing. Yes, on the nightguard, but more importantly the bite design on dental implants is most crucial.
Sir, I had 4 of my teeth extracted for braces and it has been a year since my treatment started and I got to know about the long term problems of this treatment (like TMJ..) My teeth are being pulled back to correct the over bite and so, sadly, the maxilla has gone back and i've heard it has long term effects like.. narrowed airway, TMJ, not enough room for tongue, grinding etc. So I've been considering a reverse orthodontic treatment (i have a year more of my on going treatment left) If I go for a reverse orthodontic treatment then i'd have to have implants, if not otherwise. so what do you think sir? Implants or no implants(no reverse treatment)? Are there as many problems arising from implants as there are in the current orthodontic treatment i'm going through? Thank you.
I had 7 and 10 done a month ago. Had a lil gas to get me thru the initial Novocain local. Oh my gosh that hurt! Once the cain wore off, I had to take some Advil.I had a lot of pressure build up. The next day... nothing. I felt fantastic! Even wearing a flipper. I have been smoking about a pack a day since 4 days after the surgery. I quit 6 weeks prior to the surgery. I've been a smoker 23 yrs. What does the road ahead look like if I continue to do so? And, I've noticed I get heavy pressure everyday at the bridge of my nose. I think its from smoking. Feels like that chlorine burn or nosebleed sensation. It settles where my 3rd eye would be. I find myself laying down a lot to try and relieve the pressure but nothing works. I never had this before the surgery. Any suggestions? Completely appreciate it!
Smoking is going to contribute to dental implant failure. Smoking decreases blood flow to the gums and bone. You may also have a simultaneous frontal sinus sinusitis. The pain between your third I as you call it may not be related. I would suggest having a 3-D scan donewith your implant dentist to evaluate the sinuses and position of the implants. Good luck!
Hello. An orthodontist told me that my top second molars can not be fixed with braces (they are turned outward and almost sideways) and that I should get them pulled and replace them with implants or keep them in and have them eventually rot away the rest of my teeth. I'm 28 years old. Are there other teeth saving options?
Every situation is extremely different. If it is safe, predictable, and cost-effective then by all means having a same-day immediate dental implant may be the best answer. It depends on the location of the mouth, how much bone you have, the position of yourgum line, whether the tooth is a multi-rooted tooth or not, the presence of nerves and sinuses.... And a whole lot more. Get yourself into the hands of somebody very skilled and experienced. You want to have this done right and have the highest chance of success possible. Don't make your choice based on speed. Here is an article that I wrote on the topic: www.burbankdentalimplants.com/how-to-choose-an-implant-dentist/ best of luck to you!! :) Ramsey A. Amin, D.D.S. This a very informative video! My aunt who is in her 40's plans to get her 4 upper extracted and then go for implantation. My Q is does age matter? What problem could she face as she had some kidney problem in the past? What other complications could she face?
Age is not a factor. Your health is definitely a factor. I have done full mouth dental implants on patient's as young as 18 years old and as old as 93 years old. Kidney function is important for the metabolism of bone. As long as your aunt has healthy kidney function, dental implant treatment is definitely possible. Her dental implant dentist should seek a medical consultation with her physician and or obtain blood work prior to surgery. If her kidneys are not healthy, this could definitely lead to dental implant failure. Good luck!
Steve, I perform about 20 different kinds of bone grafts. It is highly variable depending on your particular situation. Without seeing you it would be impossible to tell you what it entails. The basics are your adding either synthetic bone, bone from a cadaver, or your own bone to an area that is deficient so that you can have a dental implant placed successfully.
Paul Brooks .thank you for your very kind words. I do teach for an internationally recognized dental implant manufacturer and on a global online platform. Bio engineers have designed some excellent implants..... But nature designed how bone responds to them.... ;) Fracture of a back tooth dental implant molar crown has been decreased in recent years using a crown material called monolithic zirconia. This material is made on a CAD/CAM mill and designed in 3-D software.
Hello Doctor, My sister age 20 years has missing two teeths, the doctors said that for implant will add some artificial bone for support to jaw and second option is implant bridge. Please suggest me what to do implant or bridge implant???? which one is best???
A friend of mine had implants and she still got decay really bad cos of the screw holes eventually got food going in and it was trapped and so she was bad to square one with bone decay, instead of teeth decay.. It made her very ill..
+Ramsey Amin I wonder why they didn't fill the holes then.. But having said that they say that you can still get infections in the gums etc;; But thanks for answering.. At the moment I don't need dentures but in the future I would want mine screwed in cos they are nearly like your own teeth then.. Could you please tell me what the risks are to things going wrong in the future.. Thank you
Ray Haynes Use extreme caution. Other countries overseas do not have the same checks and balances in place to regulate their physicians and dentists. Yes you will likely get the procedure done for less cost but I have seen some pretty disastrous results over the years. The other problem happens when you have a problem with those implants, it becomes difficult to find someone in the United States willing to treat the issues. Sometimes it is not really a cost savings and can and that being a nightmare. I have seen occasionally some decent work but most of it has been second opinions for correction of major problems.
Hi doc thanks for the advice u give people, you rock. I got a large space missing in the upper back tooth #3, likely requiring lots of graft material due to removed bone and requiring a lateral approach. What are your recommendations, you mentioned gold under the crown is it common for labs to do? And as far as best material for my situation what do I have the doc put there what brand, what heals best? And this blood concentrated chemicals u mention do each has to be ordered separately or are all in one deal? and is this a common request for an affordable oral surgeon or will piss him off?
I am still undergoing treatment. I noticed since the final dentures were fixed in August the denture does not seemed to feel comfortable and my dentist have been trimming it down since then and until today without much success. I have a feeling as though there is a lump on the right back side of the bottom jaw. what could cause this feeling? By the way my dentist fixed right away the permanent dentures after my implants were healed and ever since then he has been only trying to trim and polish the denture to correct the mis alignments. Is this a normal procedure? Isn't he suppose to try out a few trial dentures? and also there is simply too much food getting trapped during my meals that I feel like rinsing my teeth every time during my meals.
whould you recoment a bridge or implant? I am missing 1 mollar on the lower left ? Can I have an implant if I remove the molar about 4 year, the gums look healthy and doesn look like the teeth moved at all. i dont smoke thanks
be healthy yes, you can still have the implant. The bone generally shrinks smaller and smaller with each passing day. This is called bone atrophy. The sooner have this done it will cost less, be less complicated and not take as long. www.burbankdentalimplants.com/bone-loss/
Hi dr, I had an implant morethan a week ago and I've been feeling a lot better, no pain at all but i began to notice small bump on my gum where implant is located. I finished my antibiotic. Is this normal? I mean there's no pus it's just a small bump, it doesn't even hurt at all. I would appreciate if you reply. Thanks in advance Dr :)
Ionaka Angeles without seeing you it would be impossible for me to be able to tell you what exactly is going on. Make sure you see your Dr. for a follow-upas soon as possible. Sometimes a bump can be an infection regardless of no pain or pus
You need to take x-rays and a periodontist should tell you. Typically it's 4 but sometimes may require up to 8. I don't know too much just from what the assistant told me when I was at the dentist. All depends on the person and what type of implants, fixed removable, fixed permanent etc.
How long can it take after sinus lift bone graft with Bio Oss and autologus bone mixed and implant installation at molars area 25,25 in the maxilla at the same time to heal and be open to continue restoration. Is it possible if it's not osseointegration occurs to leave the implants ,suture the gingiva back and wait for another month or two ?
+larisa fominykh it sounds like you had simultaneous dental implant placement and sinus lift. I would allow this area to heal for 4-6 months prior to making the final crown. Do not rush this area
Hi Dr. Amin......I fractured my front tooth root about a month ago.....I had a root canal and replaced the tooth when I was 13....I am 67 now...I had the crown replaced about 20 years ago for cosmetic reasons...my dentist recommended replacing it due to discoloration of the tooth....needless to say in process of removing the old tooth I think he damaged the root by using a hammer chisel to remove it....for several years after I would get infections behind the tooth and finally a piece of the bone or root worked its way out and I didn't have any more problems....like I mentioned in the beginning I bit down on something hard now root is fractured....my dentist has recommended bridges or an implant....I think the implant is a better way to go....can you recommend a dentist in my area that will do a good job? I live in Las Vegas (Summerlin area).....I would greatly appreciate your advice. Thank you, Greg Moniz E-mail (geeeman47@aol.com)
The hammer and chisel would not cause this. I am surprised you had this procedure done while you were not sedated!!! That technique can be very disconcerting for patient to go through but it is very effective in removing some difficult teeth and actually can save a lot of bone on the extraction…. Very counterintuitive I don’t personally know of anybody in Las Vegas. If I think of someone I will let you know.
Dr. Amin, I have been searching for about a year for a reasonable price in dental implants. However, they seem to cost $1500 or better. I've also been doing video and blog research on procedures and different types of implants. So, I though I found a dentist, until he began to tell me that I need a root canal near the missing area where I want the implant, I don't feel that I need a root canal, being that I have no problem with that tooth, I see no cavity and I have little sensitivity to that tooth. I contribute the sensitivity due to the decayed tooth next to it. I'm not a fan of root canals , because that is why I now have to do an implant on the upper left third tooth due to a root canal years ago, and it eventually broke off all together. My question is how do I know if this dentist is up and up, What questions can I asked about that tooth he claims I need a root canal. I've been refusing him to do it, but he;s admit about doing it, because he's telling me eventually its going to hurt me... its hard to view the X-ray, because I'm not familiar and don't know what i'm looking at, I just don't want unnecessary work on my precious teeth, I'm trying to preserve as many as I can...Also, are mini implants a better solution verses the regular implants and what is the direct difference? I only need one implant and I believe its in a difficult spot. (Left upper third tooth). Help need a little advise...Thanks.
+Hicpala I would suggest a 3-D scan. A 3-D scan can definitively see whether a tooth needs a root canal or not. probably about 50% ofteeth that need root canals do not have any pain. If you place a dental implant right next to a tooth that has an obvious lesion on 3-D scan, it is very likely to "wake up" and cause an abscess. This would result in substantial pain and puts the implant/bone graft at an extremely high risk of failure. The upper tooth third from the back is probably your canine and that tooth is very difficult to replace. They can be extremely costly to be done right. I too feel the same way the teeth are extremely precious and the less work you do the better but make sure you do it right.
I have a question...I am in my mid 30's and I have never had enamel on my teeth and due to vitamin deficiencies and other dental problems my teeth are literally rotting from either below the gum line or from the inside out. Due to all of this my teeth crumble, crack, break and rot. I deal with normal abscesses and what little bit of teeth still in my mouth are constantly in pain. I can't eat due to the pain, I don't talk, smile or go out in public anymore at all. My kids are embarrassed by my teeth so I've basically become a hermit. Would I be better off getting full dentures or full implants? Cost is of course an issue but medically if I don't do something and soon I am in fear that the next infection/abscess will go into my blood stream or up into my brain and kill me. All of these dental issues are affecting my health and now causing other health issues and heart problems. Please help
My teeth would crack and pieces would fall out from the gum line all around my teeth. I found out it has a lot to do with the things i eat and drink. Dentist told me these things and nothing is better than to just fix what teeth i have now before going in on dentures. So I did a GA (general anesthesia) I too am scared of dentist and was a hermit for about 3 years. Got crowns and fillings done in a period of 5 hours during the GA. I'd go to the dentist first and get an opinion from them. I didn't have abscess teeth but did have 3 root canals done and many fillings. Go to a dentist I know that abscess teeth can get real bad but can be fixed if you go asap. If fear is an issue they can prescribe medications to help you relax, unfortunately most of the medications don't work on me and I would have to take a high dose which isn't recommended which is why I went with a GA. Best of luck to you.
I feel your pain. I'm in the process of having a couple of dental implants with a fake tooth in between at a price of $7.000, If your teeth are that bad you should have them removed, they're already falling off anyway and causing a lot of pain and distress. If there are any teeth that can be saved or repaired it would be better to keep them to hold a partial denture, if all teeth have to be removed then I suggest to have 3 or 4 implants to hold the denture in place. I would do that instead of the whole mouth implants unless you have that kind of money.
Hi Dr.Ramsey, my wife live in Australia just done an Implant on one of her teeth and she had a burning and itchy sensation in her mouth and throat and having a problem with breathing and then she end up in Hospital for two day, and now she still have that burning and itchiness sensation still. (( What can she do to stop this problem ? )) Thanks
Socvun Lee this is very unusual as allergies to titanium are unheard of. Likely she has an allergy to some other material such as methylmethacrylate used for temporary, a rinse called chlorhexidine, antibiotics and/or pain medications, topical anesthetic benzocaine..... This is just a very limited list but she is extremely unlikely to be allergic to the titanium alloy that is used for well-made dental implants. I have never seen it in my career of placing implants for 15 years. Keep me posted
I am still undergoing treatment and the final set of permanent dentures have been modified the third time. What I noticed every time when my dentist fix the 4 screws I felt PAIN in the bones as the screws were tightened. ..but after a few minutes the pain slowly disappears. Is this normal? What is causing the pain?
+Kadir Othman the gum will expand if the bridge is taken in and out. My assumption is the bridge is being taken out completely and being put back in. The gums shrink very quickly… Just a few minutes is all it takes. the pain should only be at the gum level and not at the bone level
+Kadir Othman sometimes 4 implants can be enough on the bottom jaw only. For the top jaw four implants usually do not provide enough support in the long-term. Everything works in the short-term but what matters is 10 years from now how everything is holding up.
Ramsey Amin I am 50 years old and I am due to get 3 front dental implants with 2 post I use to grind my teeth at night and suffered gum disease due to smoking which I have since quit do you think a I am making a mistake in getting implants
I am 67, a smoker I have 5 upper implants as my natural capped teeth have broken off at the gum line, I plan on having a denture in the future where it snaps onto the implants. I will need at least 1 more implant to give enough support. 3 implant on each side with 2 being close to the front. I only want 12 upper teeth, as thats what I'm use to for years, my palette is high arch and narrow.
Hi Doc. I need your help. I'm 26 years old., i wanted to have my dental implants! I every now and then watch your you tube videos for almost 1 year. And i listen and believe in you! Im a filipino working in singapore. Its hard for a filipino to get u.s visa. I tried once it was rejected! Do u have friends ( doctor/ dentist) here in asia that you can recommend. Pls. Help me doc. Sincerely yours, Ely
elyramos90 Thank you for your kind and flattering words. I don't know of anyone in your area but there are many great dentists in the world. Do your research and find someone that you like. Best of luck...Dr. Amin
Doc, recently I have tooth extraction and was advised to go for tooth implant. I watch how implant done on You Tube and it scares hell out of me. Please advise, is this implant compulsory thing to do ?? even after implant also may have problems, hence to me either way also have problem. I want to know is it A MUST to have implant. pls advise, thanks so much
grace It depends...I would have to see you to get more info. A dental implant procedure should be easy! Be sure to have IV sedation so you can sleep through it if you are fearful.
dissman888 Cost is variable depending on your particular situation. How much bone you have and whether or not you need bone grafting will cause the biggest variation in cost. It also depends on the skill, training, and judgment of your implant dentist. I suggest you find somebody very good to do this procedure so that it can go smoothly and last as long as possible. Pain should not be a factor hopefully. In my practice, it is very unusual to have a patient require any pain medication beyond ibuprofen for single tooth implant. In fact many of my patients that have 6-12 implants placed at the same time usually also only need ibuprofen. My techniques are probably a bit different than most and I do hear many other patients complaining of this process being painful. I think if you find a really good dentist that does a lot of implants, you will have less pain. Good luck
+Soandrae Irving a 3-D scan is highly recommended. Dental Implantology is an extremely complex field and as of 2015 it would be rare that I would place an implant without a scan. A few years ago it would be reasonable to not use 3-D scan technology but there is too much information that you do not know without it.
I found that the dental gumshield was too thin for the strength of tooth grinding I did at night, so I bought a sports gumshield like the one my son wore in American football or a boxers gumshield, the dentists gumshield, (in England), is also very expensive, a waste of money compared to the boxers gumshield that cost around 3 bucks or £2 I didn't care that it wasn't sexy either as it also cut down my headaches!
Hi Dr.Amin I recently had two upper front teeth implants. Recommended by my dentist.I have a very strong bite and she said it would give more support to the two teeth. side by side It was quite expensive. over $8,000. total. Two implants were inserted and after four months the procedure was finalized. The Dentist told me to be very carefull because of my bite. She said she had joined the two teeth together to make them stronger. After 1 less than a month. I felt the teeyh loose I had to go to a different Dentist as an emergency as I Am out of the country. He told me I had a cantelivered restoration because 1 implant failed. Is it her option to do another implant without charge as I had paid for two. Thank You.
when shopping for a specialist for a single tooth implant for a 16 year old what credentials should I ask for and what is a reasonable cost. She had no permanent tooth under her baby tooth.
Here is an article that I wrote on the topic: @how-to-choose-an-implant-dentist/ Teeth that are missing from birth can be some of the most complex and expensive dental implants. This is because the bone never formed because the tooth never formed. Your daughter is highly likely to need a bone graft. Also keep in mind that her gumline is not in its final position. Her gum may need to be altered so that the implant is placed harmoniously with the rest of her teeth. The dentist should also confirmed that she is done growing. This can sometimes be completed by taking an x-ray of the joint between her hand and wrist. Ramsey A. Amin, D.D.S. Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology /Implant Dentistry
Patricia Bickford titanium dental implants have been in use since 1965. There were developed and invented by a Swedish orthopedic surgeon. Over the last 50 years, there has been a tremendous amount of research on this topic. The titanium alloy is better used for dental implants are by far bio inert. This means that your immune system really does not recognize this very biocompatible metal. There are other option such a zirconia dental implants which do not have a long track record of research and peer reviewed data. the problem was zirconia dental implants is that they are one solid piece. There is no separate abutment. Without a separate abutment it is impossible to angle correct an implant and so many other important aspects of the restoration that a two-piece implant with a removable abutment allows extreme versatility. The nonmetal type of implants create a situation where you are just stuck with it. If there is any problems he will have no option but to remove the entire implant and have it drilled out of your jawbone. Maybe in a few years it will improve, but for now I would not place in my own family members.
Oh gosh.. that's a little scary.. I had to get all of my top teeth removed at 20 years old. I have two different denture plates and can't wear either one. I'm "petite" I guess you could say (5'2 & 103lbs) so I'm assuming my mouth is just small for dentures? I don't know. They feel way to big for my mouth. I'm kinda considering implants because I'm only 23 and going around with no top teeth is a very depressing thing for me :(.
Your mouth is not too small. Dental implants or dentures are custom made for every person. We are all pretty unique! Let me know if you need some guidance.
I am missing two front teethon my top left. I have a cleftplate that was fixed but because there is not much bone to work with on the roof of my mouth what would you suggest? Money is not that big an issue. I dont want to have to take my teeth in and out but there is absolutely no bone in that area.

this dentist is great! i like the video u been share. maybe i shoulf not take implant in my teeth. too scary if after20 years or 10yrs., theres could be sideeffect., that can turn to worst.
janice268268 besides bone loss, the other remaining teeth will shift around and many people experience facial collapse. This will make you look older than you are when the face caves in. Of course this depends if you are missing a lot of teeth versus 1 tooth. The point is never to allow this to occur in the first place and to preserve the jawbone from ever being lost. Replacement of teeth in a timely manner is critically important to your long-term health. Ramsey Amin DDS
+Soandrae Irving sometimes it is actually more beneficial to do the implant and the bone graft simultaneously. Sometimes the 2 should be separated. Each case is unique
Dr. Amin, maybe you can help calm my nerves. I had a consult with my oral surgeon and I really LIKE him alot. He has an excellant reputation and he is going to extract #3 and bone graft it. He gave me two choices either animal bone, cow, or cadaver bone. Bone freak me out. But I dont want to take my own bone and have another wound in my mouth to heal. He recommends the cadaver bone and I cant seem to get past that. It's gross. I do plan on implant when it is time. Can you help calm me?
I'm 19 ive been missing my front tooth for 3 years, i was told to wait until i was 21 to get a implant. Im going to get checked this week because i can't stand wearing this flipper anymore. but what is better a short implant or long implant? I don't want to commit a mistake by getting a implant if a bridge will be better but i do not want to risk anymore teeth ): help
You may already be old enough for an implant. Don't get a bridge. That is irreversible. Your adjacent teeth will be ground into pegs. If the bone and angulation allow, a longer implant is better. Find a local expert. Front teeth are the most difficult dental implants. Good luck!!
i went to a local expert yesterday and they say a short implant (the bicon) will be best but my bone is healthy and in good condition should i push for a longer implant?? he told me he had 4 short implants himself
I have 2 implant my front upper teeth one is porcelain and the other has the titanium back and It is slipping down the crown is really loose and I can see the silver around the top of the crown when I smile or talk, one of my question's is can the crown be repaired. Also I had a root canal in October 2014, when you have a root canal on 2 upper teeth next to my 2 front crowns, is it necessary to have crowns on the root canal teeth or can the teeth be filled, since 2014 root canal upper teeth 2 holes in my teeth from the drill and my teeth are packed with medicine and cotton, I am having problems eating the food becomes impacted I have to remove it and put cotton in the holes and medicine I have been in pain most of the time but all I ever get is medicine put in my teeth and I have been taking amoxcillin for over a year. I never wanted a root canal but I was told that is the only way to save my teeth. Dr. Ramsey Amin, Your video was great honesty goes a long way I appreciate it, thank you.
+Deborah Hopper thank you for your kind words. Crowns are not always necessary over front teeth but most of the time they are needed because the teeth usually needed a root canal due to decay. The decay rotted away a lot of the natural tooth and now the root canal hollowed out the tooth which makes it weak. Being on antibiotics for a year is not the answer. if the teeth do not respond to root canal treatment, than likely those teeth should be extracted instead. Of course you need to consider other rare things such as neuropathy like trigeminal neuralgia but those are relatively uncommon. I would suggest you connect yourself with an extremely skilled dentist and take an updated 3-D scan of the problem areas.
The all in for procedure is under engineered for long-term stability although it is possible for some situations. replacing 14 teeth on just four dental implants and then topping that off with a plastic tooth hybrid bridge is more like a long-term temporary. I typically do "all on 5, 6, 7, or 8" for more structural support Please see this video to understand the all on 4 procedure. All On Four Dental Implant Procedure Review-Ramsey Amin DDS It is heavily marketed as a cure-all which I do not agree with.
+hemant bhardwaj it is not suggested to connect a natural tooth to a dental implant. This was done back in the 1970s and 80s and almost always resulted in failure. The dental implant would not fail but the tooth would because the implant and the tooth move differently. The dental implant is too rigid in comparison to the tooth.
I am getting (2) done next week, and I am freaking out. I watched the surgery on youtube, and I just cannot imagine that there is no pain at all? My periodontist is giving me nothing, not even an antibiotic. I am allergic to all NSAIDS. Oh well, suck it up, I guess.
I was in agony for a week. It was like a migraine headache, behind your eyes. I could not open my eyes, because the light was murder. Once the novacaine wears off, you just spiral into horrible pain. I do not understand, why there is so much fear, in making us comfortable. That is why people do not like the dentist. I need a special periodontist for "wimps", like me. I am at the end of the road now. My dentist is ordering the custom crowns, and then I am done! At least this part, does not involve any pain.
I have the all on 4 but I am thinking about adding implants in the back molars as I feel I don't have enough teeth , I didn't feel any pain during the surgery and only mild discomfort for a few days after. and all I took a advil once in awhile . all cases are different I suppose but my experience was actually very comfortable.
Lucky you....Did you need bone grafting? I had that part as well, which adds up to big money, and a longer wait time. If I ever decide to do anymore, I will go to someone else.
no I didn't need bone grafting. in most cases you don't need bone grafting with all on 4. although if I have 2 back molars added added separately I may need that as you lose bone density if their are no teeth back there .
I took a medication for 20 years that ended causing me to have to have many of my teeth removed. My insurance wouldn't pay for a partial but they would pay for a full denture so I decided to have the denture. The day I got them pulled, the dentist told me right AFTER she pulled the last one that I would never have an upper denture that works because I have that extra lump in the roof of my mouth. I wanted to punch her in the face for not telling me that BEFORE because had I known I would have just had to save the money and gotten a partial!. So here I am unable to eat with the dentures in because if I bite in the front the top back pops off due to the extra lump, yes it has a name but I can't remember it. It seems implants are my only option at this point to ever being able to eat a sandwich, a carrot stick or anything else that requires biting in the front but I can't afford them. They are ridiculously priced. It bothers me that I am stuck in this situation all because a dentist couldn't be bothered to make her observation known BEFORE pulling all my teeth instead of 2 minutes AFTER! She has cost me the rest of my life dealing with not ever being able to eat properly or to even be able to eat many foods at all. I think she should have to pay for my implants after what she did.
"Why are you blaming the dentist? Blame the medication or pharmacy or yourself for the loss of your teeth. Blame the insurance company for not paying for a partial denture (though that does not seem likely in my experience). They apparently forced you to have a full denture. Sure it would have been nice to know that the tori might make a denture more difficult to adapt to, but I have many patients with tori that function just fine with an upper denture. I am not justifying the treatment you received, just pointing out that there are a lot of factors leading to your situation. All of them seem to come down to money and unfortunately the more involved the more expense. Good luck, try to redirect your anger and look for a better solution. Be sure to do some research.
+justlikeu i blame the dentist for not telling me about an extra lump in the roof of my mouth that prevents dentures from working for me. i thought everyone had that lump and my dentist was giving me dentures so they should have told me they would never wotk BEFORE pulling all my teeth not after
+justlikeu if you do dentistry can you tell me how to get dentures to work with a tori? mine is towards the back and the edge is right at the edge of my palette so i can't get suction enough so thst i can eat with them. I hat my palette expanded as a child so not sure if its a tori or something to do with the way that procedure healed. it feels like a large bone. The poor insurance i had at the time refused to pay for a partial and i didn't know my mouth wasn't like everyone else's. As soon as the dentist pulled my teeth and tried putting immediates in they fell. she then put her finger in the roof of my mouth and said oh no. dentures will never work for you. Too bad she hadn't looked a bit more before pulling. That's my beef with her. I just think a dentist should check out a person's mouth first for compatibility not after.
I am intersted in implants I have two missing upper teeth, my dentist suggested one implant with two crowns. This does not seem stable to me. It seems like you would need one implant per crown for the strenth of bite am I correct?
Implant vs root canal...your feelings? The root canal has left nothing more than a stub so I do not see the benefit of saving a nothing, just so a crown that has little to hold onto has to be done. An implant seems like a better alternative, plus longer success rate and NO POSSIBLE complications like infections in other parts of my body from root canal.
except your natural tooth is a drilled out rotten looking small good for nothing STUB which then has to have a crown put over it so in effect you have a fake tooth anyway. Why not just get an entire fake tooth(an implant) and be done with it. Amazing how you call what is left "your natural tooth or real tooth" when it is really ONLY a remnant of what once was a tooth and by itself is worthless nothing of an ugly good for nothing stub. So that is another way of looking at it.....then the endodontist has brochures which say post root canal treatment which say you may still require more root canal at some point in the future which would mean AGAIN drilling through the crown(ruining it) going through the pain and EXPENSE of another procedure/root canal and then ANOTHER trip to dentist to have ANOTHER crown done. This would mean at that point you would have all that pain and a total of over $4000 invested in a rotten stub of a useless "but your own" tooth left. Seems like an implant is a better option. Get rid of the rotten good for nothing stub and have something worth a sh_ _ put in instead. I am sick and tired of going through these damn root canals.
n4ktz A post gets put in, And the dentist usually caps that. Assuming the root of the tooth isn't decayed. I'm assuming the tooth is healthy or your dentist would have pulled it and not performed root canal.
n4ktz a dental implant is not forever either. Although it is a very successful procedure when done correctly, complications can and do occur. A dental implant can lose bone through a condition called peri-implantitis leading to the loss of the dental implant. A dental implant is a close second placed your own natural tooth which may require treatment several times over the course of your life. Get into the hands of a very good dentist.
All on Four is ok but, very under-engineered. If one implant fails, you are going to have big problems. It is better for the lower than the upper due to bone density. What "hole" are you talking about? When the implant bridge or crown is placed, it should be well sealed leaving no holes behind. Dr. Ramsey Amin
Nobel Biocare has researched the efficacy and long term success of the all on four procedure for 30 years. This method would not be so popular if it wasn't HIGHLY successful. It was specifically developed for people with significant bone loss who don't want grafting. If you're in that group seek an opinion other than this dentist who doesn't agree with it.
Use of metal in any restorations is a very bad idea. Non-metal zirconia implants are available, same material can be used for a crown and it's a very strong material with great aesthetics.
As of the year 2014, zirconia dental implants are not well accepted around the world. Titanium dental implants have a track record of 45 years of success, documentation and peer-reviewed literature to support their use. I am not saying that zirconia dental implants are bad, they are just not any better than what we are already using. Zirconia dental implants have to be made in one solid piece and do not have a removable abutment. This decreases their versatility and you may end up being stuck with an implant that doesn't hold a crown or bridge. Zirconia is an excellent material when it is thick and under compression strength only. Most dental implants are only 4 mm in diameter. They have a higher degree of fracture risk. I am certain that zirconia dental implants will eventually evolve, but for now I would avoid them. Zirconia bridges and crowns are excellent. I'm just speaking about the part that goes in the bone itself. I use zirconia all the time for bridges and crowns. This is the part that shows in your mouth. Here is a link to a full mouth bridge I make of zirconia: www.burbankdentalimplants.com/prettau-dental-implant-full-mouth-bridge/ Ramsey A. Amin, D.D.S. LOL..mercury fillings are not good. I would not have them in my family's mouth because they crack your teeth. They don't cause medical issues...they are just bad for your teeth. Thank you for your comments! ;)
Not only they crack teeth they do not seal the margins and yeah, all those miraculous recoveries of people who removed that crap are just thousands of anecdotal stories! Because mercury magically becomes non-toxic when placed in a mouth! This kind of ignorance is criminal!
olaolga You, my friend olaolga, are the ignorant one. "thousands of anecdotal stories" honestly don't compare to the TRILLIONS of amalgam restorations safely housed in peoples mouths all across the world. I am also a dentist, and I agree with Dr. Amin here...I do not place amalgams, but not because they are medically unsafe. I don't place them because they simply are not good for teeth structurally. If you wish to make comments on the safety of amalgam, perhaps you should attend 8+ years for dental training instead of reading fear mongering stories on the internet.
Damien Hartley Plastic teeth are intended for dentures. Some dentists will make a full mouth bridge called a “hybrid.” Plastic teeth do look good at first, but they are essentially denture teeth which will stain and break over time. Porcelain is much better as it retains its luster and is far stronger than plastic teeth for dental implants. Ramsey Amin DDS
@dlens52 in the long run implants are cheaper, if you get a bridge chances are later in the future you'll most likely have to end up getting more implants that before because bridges do not last as long
I receive literally 100s of comments, most of which are answered on my dental implant blog. TH-cam is the platform for my dental implant blog videos which are embedded into the blog All of these videos are linked there. I wish I could keep up with all of them and help more people get the facts straight. Keep in mind I did run a very busy dental implant practice in Burbank, California and spent a lot of time with each patient. here is the link
Hello. An orthodontist told me that my top second molars can not be fixed with braces (they are turned outward and almost sideways) and that I should get them pulled and replace them with implants or keep them in and have them eventually rot away the rest of my teeth. I'm 28 years old. Are there other teeth saving options?
This guy is honest. Most dentists don't tell you all the cons and what bad things can happened. If I lived near him, I would go to him. I believe he is a good clinician.
+kohjhart thank you so much. You are very kind. I enjoy helping people out. ;-)
Ramsey Amin Hey im getting an implant done in may how does it feel?
This is probably a stupid question but why can't a implant be built with a shock absorber
Thank you so much, Dr. AminWhat do you think about a nite time bite guard after implant surgery - to help with the grinding ?
---if you need something like a full mouth bridge, there are a number of visits which you would need to be present for www.burbankdentalimplants.com/prettau-dental-implant-full-mouth-bridge/

Should I Perdue a settlement, or is there any way of repairing the damage?
doctor can you please tell us more about the different types of implants and the best ones to use.
hey Dr.Amin , I am 23 years old.

If the tooth could not be PREDICTABLY saved, then removal is best.
Sir, I had 4 of my teeth extracted for braces and it has been a year since my treatment started and I got to know about the long term problems of this treatment (like TMJ..)
My teeth are being pulled back to correct the over bite and so, sadly, the maxilla has gone back and i've heard it has long term effects like.. narrowed airway, TMJ, not enough room for tongue, grinding etc.
So I've been considering a reverse orthodontic treatment (i have a year more of my on going treatment left)
If I go for a reverse orthodontic treatment then i'd have to have implants, if not otherwise.
so what do you think sir?
Good luck!

Would you recommend getting an implant placed right after an extraction, or wait until the extraction sight is healed and how long to wait? thank you
Every situation is extremely different.

Hi Doc, I live in Tampa FL, would you recommend any Doctor for my implant in this area ? Thanks

Good luck!
Thank you very much Dr.!
Question? What's involved with bone grafting? I think I need that but don't know what that entails. Can you tell me all about what that is?
Steve,
I perform about 20 different kinds of bone grafts. It is highly variable depending on your particular situation. Without seeing you it would be impossible to tell you what it entails.
The basics are your adding either synthetic bone, bone from a cadaver, or your own bone to an area that is deficient so that you can have a dental implant placed successfully.
Have any changes been made in the field of implants since your video and why aren't you part of the design process or at least a consultant?
Paul Brooks .thank you for your very kind words. I do teach for an internationally recognized dental implant manufacturer and on a global online platform. Bio engineers have designed some excellent implants..... But nature designed how bone responds to them.... ;)
Fracture of a back tooth dental implant molar crown has been decreased in recent years using a crown material called monolithic zirconia. This material is made on a CAD/CAM mill and designed in 3-D software.
I get frequent inflamation around my implants which are 12 years old.I have a full denture plate on lower gum and 2 implants
+Mskerryanne why where the screw holes open? These are almost never supposed to be left open?
+Ramsey Amin I wonder why they didn't fill the holes then.. But having said that they say that you can still get infections in the gums etc;; But thanks for answering.. At the moment I don't need dentures but in the future I would want mine screwed in cos they are nearly like your own teeth then.. Could you please tell me what the risks are to things going wrong in the future.. Thank you
My question is: Are oral surgeons over sea's capable of a implant procedure & if so would U recommend it? We should already assume it's much cheaper.
I have seen occasionally some decent work but most of it has been second opinions for correction of major problems.
some countries are far better than others....thanks for the info! ;-)

How many implants are needed to hold a full denture both top and bottom? is the all-on-4 procedure enough and how about long term? 10-15 years later.
You need to take x-rays and a periodontist should tell you. Typically it's 4 but sometimes may require up to 8. I don't know too much just from what the assistant told me when I was at the dentist. All depends on the person and what type of implants, fixed removable, fixed permanent etc.
Which do you think is best mini implants or regular implants
Thank you,
Greg Moniz
E-mail (geeeman47@aol.com)
The hammer and chisel would not cause this. I am surprised you had this procedure done while you were not sedated!!! That technique can be very disconcerting for patient to go through but it is very effective in removing some difficult teeth and actually can save a lot of bone on the extraction…. Very counterintuitive
I don’t personally know of anybody in Las Vegas.
+Hicpala Get a second opinion, have a printed diagnosis in hand.

I would suggest a 3-D scan.
I have a full Implant....on my bottom jaw....are 4 implants enough to give support of the whole to the whole set of dentures?
+Kadir Othman sometimes 4 implants can be enough on the bottom jaw only. For the top jaw four implants usually do not provide enough support in the long-term. Everything works in the short-term but what matters is 10 years from now how everything is holding up.
Ramsey Amin I am 50 years old and I am due to get 3 front dental implants with 2 post I use to grind my teeth at night and suffered gum disease due to smoking which I have since quit do you think a
I am making a mistake in getting implants
I am 67, a smoker I have 5 upper implants as my natural capped teeth have broken off at the gum line, I plan on having a denture in the future where it snaps onto the implants. I will need at least 1 more implant to give enough support. 3 implant on each side with 2 being close to the front. I only want 12 upper teeth, as thats what I'm use to for years, my palette is high arch and narrow.
I live in Oregon. Do you have branches here ?
Sincerely yours,
Ely
elyramos90 Thank you for your kind and flattering words.
Be sure to have IV sedation so you can sleep through it if you are fearful.
how much does and implanted tooth hurts after that surgery
dissman888 Cost is variable depending on your particular situation. How much bone you have and whether or not you
need bone grafting will cause the biggest variation in cost. It also depends on the skill, training, and
judgment of your implant dentist. I suggest you find somebody very good to do this procedure so that it can go
smoothly and last as long as possible.
Good luck
Trying to find a good surgeon in my area the one I trust says no cat scan necessary, what do you think?
+Soandrae Irving do you need implants, if so you need CT scan.
Thank you Kevin Michael. I am getting the run-around here. Especially for the lower jaw, correct?
Hi Dr.Amin
I recently had two upper front teeth implants. Recommended by my dentist.I have a very strong bite and she said it would give more support to the two teeth. side by side
It was quite expensive. over $8,000. total. Two implants were inserted and after four months the procedure was finalized. The Dentist told me to be very carefull because of my bite. She said she had joined the two teeth together to make them stronger. After 1 less than a month. I felt the teeyh loose
I had to go to a different Dentist as an emergency as I Am out of the country. He told me I had a cantelivered restoration
because 1 implant failed. Is it her option to do another implant without charge as I had paid for two.
Thank You.
Would I be at a higher risk for bone loss if I had radiation therapy on my neck/jaw area where the implant is needed?
when shopping for a specialist for a single tooth implant for a 16 year old what credentials should I ask for and what is a reasonable cost. She had no permanent tooth under her baby tooth.
Here is an article that I wrote on the topic: @how-to-choose-an-implant-dentist/
Teeth that are missing from birth can be some of the most complex and expensive dental implants.

Same thing with me. :/
Can a person be allergic to the metal drilled into the bone? If so, is there an alternative?
Ramsey Amin Thank you Dr. Amin, your information is very helpful in my decision. I will stay with the metal abutments.
Oh gosh.. that's a little scary..
I dont want to have to take my teeth in and out but there is absolutely no bone in that area.
cc477 the bone can often be rebuilt with a block graft. Each situation is unique. read this article, this may help you..

Thank you where is your practice I live in buffalo, NY.

I can see how it would be pricey but would traditional implants work for a full upper?
Thanks. I do not like all on 4 or any of those types.
Many thanks for the info.
you are very welcome
this dentist is great! i like the video u been share. maybe i shoulf not take implant in my teeth. too scary if after20 years or 10yrs., theres could be sideeffect., that can turn to worst.
l
Crazy. Some say, if there is no force on the jaw bone the bone goes back. And now here, it goes back BECAUSE of to much force.
What is the next bad thing to happen after getting the jaw bone loss side effect few years later??
janice268268 besides bone loss, the other remaining teeth will shift around and many people experience facial collapse.
Ramsey Amin DDS
can a larger implant tooth take the place of two implants upper right rear
Also another periodontist says he puts bone grafting in at time of implant? That doesn't sound right to me.
+Soandrae Irving sometimes it is actually more beneficial to do the implant and the bone graft simultaneously. Sometimes the 2 should be separated. Each case is unique
hey darkseid0001, did you get your answers on this method? Thanks for mentioning it because now I'm looking into it.
The Bicon is typically best used in the back of the mouth. It is an uncommon implant that is good overall for back teeth.
+Ramsey Amin Thank you.
Do you do the all on 4 Dr. Amin?
The all in for procedure is under engineered for long-term stability although it is possible for some situations. replacing 14 teeth on just four dental implants and then topping that off with a plastic tooth hybrid bridge is more like a long-term temporary.
I typically do "all on 5, 6, 7, or 8" for more structural support
Please see this video to understand the all on 4 procedure. All On Four Dental Implant Procedure Review-Ramsey Amin DDS
It is heavily marketed as a cure-all which I do not agree with.
hello dr ,i ma young dentist from india , please tell me , can i take support of a implant and a natural tooth for a brige (FPD)
How did it go? having pain has a lot to do with your ability to heal, your surgeon's ability, and the complexity of your particular surgery.
Wow, exactly why I hate Dentists, except for the few good ones like this guy.
+justlikeu i blame the dentist for not telling me about an extra lump in the roof of my mouth that prevents dentures from working for me. i thought everyone had that lump and my dentist was giving me dentures so they should have told me they would never wotk BEFORE pulling all my teeth not after
yes, and I agree that if they were going to use that as an excuse for the denture not working you should have been told up front. Best of luck.
An implant seems like a better alternative, plus longer success rate and NO POSSIBLE complications like infections in other parts of my body from root canal.
n4ktz this may answer some of your questions
www.burbankdentalimplants.com/dental-implant-or-root-canal-cost-and-value-comparison/
except your natural tooth is a drilled out rotten looking small good for nothing STUB which then has to have a crown put over it so in effect you have a fake tooth anyway.
I'm assuming the tooth is healthy
or your dentist would have pulled it and not performed root canal.
n4ktz a dental implant is not forever either.
This guy luvs the sound of his own voice...had to leave before I got the info.
Here is a link to a full mouth bridge I make of zirconia:

Yep, just like mercury fillings... still "safe and effective"
If you wish to make comments on the safety of amalgam, perhaps you should attend 8+ years for dental training instead of reading fear mongering stories on the internet.
why not just use plastic teeth.
Damien Hartley Plastic teeth are intended for dentures. Some dentists will make a full mouth bridge
called a “hybrid.”
Plastic teeth do look good at first, but they are
essentially denture teeth which will stain and break over time. Porcelain is much better as it retains its
luster and is far stronger than plastic teeth for dental implants.

in the long run implants are cheaper, if you get a bridge chances are later in the future you'll most likely have to end up getting more implants that before because bridges do not last as long
Why are all of you asking questions this guy is a joke he says in his video to go head and ask questions then he only replies to one person!
I receive literally 100s of comments, most of which are answered on my dental implant blog. TH-cam is the platform for my dental implant blog videos which are embedded into the blog
All of these videos are linked there. I wish I could keep up with all of them and help more people get the facts straight. Keep in mind I did run a very busy dental implant practice in Burbank, California and spent a lot of time with each patient.

Hello. An orthodontist told me that my top second molars can not be fixed with braces (they are turned outward and almost sideways) and that I should get them pulled and replace them with implants or keep them in and have them eventually rot away the rest of my teeth. I'm 28 years old. Are there other teeth saving options?
+Dubblejayy hmmm..... I would have a second opinion.
