The dental implant procedure traumatized me. I have not felt comfortable since my oral surgeon if that's what he deserves to be called, put an implant in my #8 last month. I have been complaining about his lack of professionalism since and low and behold, today it fell out of my mouth (in tact). I don't think I was a good fit for an implant. I do envy people with two front teeth however. My goal now is to avoid paying more than what I put down for the deposit. I am holding the dentist partially responsible until I have the post surgery x-ray examined by a second party. Please let me know what you had to do after your implant fell out of your mouth. Good luck.

Hello, glad I saw your reply. Okay, I am still toothless up front. Turns out I did not have bone in my jaw and the implant should not have been offered and/or applied at the time it was. I sent a complaint to the California Dental Board and of course they sided with the dentist. He was culpable as well as Western Dental. I think Western Dental could be sued (class action) but it will take the right plaintiff and the right attorney. They sent my debt to collections and as far as I am concerned, they owe me $1500 deposit. The dentist(s) should not be able to say "your mouth rejected them" unless they did due diligence. In my case, they definitely did not. *I recommend a fake tooth that cost 10 bucks off of Amazon. It works for my missing #8. It fits better than my partial bridge did. Peace out.@@gloryBE-o1w

Not completely true...more and more states require dentists to have a certain amount of hands-on implant continuing education hours before they are allowed to place their 1st implant. In Oregon, for example, it's 56 credit hours.
I'm concerned about implant screws from China that look like standard wood screw thread. They are listed as titanium but look like stainless . I saw Them as cheap as $3 . The experts here are a general dentist and prosthodontist. These are not surgical specialties. This probably confuses the public even more when a news report doesn’t select dentists who have a surgical specialty behind their name. That being said look for any type of dentist who has an ABOI or AAID board certified credential behind their name. Legally this is the only credential that allows any dentist to call him or herself a board certified implant dentist.

Sadly, the patient doesn’t know what’s happening, why they are having health issues, dental pain, a lot of dentist goes through these week long course by another dentist and then go back to their office and start putting in implants. There’s a clinic that uses recovering drug addiction patients to give doctors clinical training, that are paying 10 grand for this course. So, these patients don’t have a clue who is putting in implants while they are sedated. Most of the procedures are for implants for dentures, and these patients end up waiting over a year up to 18 months waiting for permanent dentures. I went for a consultation and it was to sketchy and they quoted me 11 grand for full mouth dental implants.

These dentist are profiting quadruple the amount, especially when the cost of implants range from 80 dollars to 300 per metal implant, and a small amount to have someone come in to perform sedation to these patients. It’s really sad how someone creates a procedure that can change your life, but make it so un-affordable for most because they can. You can have pretty much your whole body reconstructed for what they charge for one procedure.
I agree with you they cost far more than should. I got removable denture and it has changed my life. I am overjoyed and can eat. They are affordable option that you should consider. I truly wished more people could have them. But I am very thankful I can't afford them after watching this report.
It is metal sensitivity that ruined her health. I saw a report about her long time ago. The before and after pictures are very striking. While the metal implant is called titanium but most are alloy with many types of metals inside. These all on 4 and all on 6 implants are risky and involve long term maintenance that is very expensive and troublesome. Of course, there is no good alternative. Denture doesn't work as well as implants in chewing efficiency.

Never, EVER allow a general dentist to place an implant. No it doesn’t matter that they went to a CE course. NO. Please trust me on this, I have worked in this field for 10 years, early on I spent 3 of those years working for an egotistical general dentist who thought he could do it all. He went to one implant course and thought he was a master. Even after a 90% fail rate on all of his cases, he still kept the same smug attitude and kept placing implants and he is allowed to do that. No one got any money back because they signed the dotted line. Please do your research and only see those who specialize in the field, preferably someone who is recommended to you by a trusted source.
I feel glad, I went a regular dentist to do treatment and two implant. I asked what kind material they use for bone craft, folks tried skip my question, I demanded the answer. When they told me about the material, I said no. I will pay for what I want not for what you have in hands. Because of one question I was safe from a big mistake. I left this dentist and found a great, oral surgeon to do the job. People don't know, but it need lot research to find the right professional. Don't go to cheap one, unless they has hundred success in this procedure.
My dentist said he would not do my extraction because I needed a bone graft and sinus lift. Much respect for doctors and dentists who say they don't have the skill needed for the patient. Dentist referred me to a maxillofacial surgeon, dentist, cosmetic surgeon combo doc for procedure. I must now wait 6 months for the next step. People really need to research who they go for medical procedures. Even Google reviews is helpful and a good place to start.
As a medical doctor I did much research on implants as I thought I may need one. Recall a European/Scandinavian study that found comparable results between properly trained general dentists and specialists. Implants are a very lucrative procedure and it is possible some will place profit over attaining required competency first. Some outspoken dentists have even commented that an implant is just a piece of titanium and should not cost so much. Luckily there is strong competition coming from Israel and Europe offering fair realistic pricing and including zirconia.
Never let a general dentist do anything but clean, fill or crown a tooth. They can do non surgical extractions too, but think more than twice about that you want an implant after rather than dentures or a bridge. General dentists shouldn't be allowed to offer things like invisalign or implants. They're in over their heads and doing it for the money. I remember when only specialists would do implants, and they would be very selective about candidates. No smokers. No 80+ year olds with massive health problems. I hate what dentistry has been allowed to become.
very ignorant statement. I don't even place implants, but there are some very competent GP's that I would trust waaay more than some specialists. I do agree that far too many GP's take a weekend course and then take on cases that they have no business doing...............but that is a whole other conversation.
@@Phil_529 this video was saying the implants were destroying this ladies health. My point was metal should not be drilled into your body and into your bone like that which obviously this ladies health is a testament that it’s not healthy to do that it would’ve been much more healthy to just simply use dentures and if necessary, you know, modify your diet a little bit, but with dentures, you can eat most everything, not everything but most things
You asked "local experts" that are far from experts. How did you choose these guys? Because they have a "school?" This implant is probably angled too far.... OMG. Really? You must have AT LEAST 2 mm of buccal bone. This is basic knowledge. Ask the director of the periodontics department at the school and at least you'll be getting somewhere. Not two guys in a denture clinic. I'm sure these guys are great at what they do but let's please not use the word "expert." That conveys a level of knowledge lacking in this video.
thats the problem with the whole dentistry vocation , its like the wild west and there is no one way all dentists are regulated to do anything so nobody is a expert any more than the other guy is . all the public can do is choose a dentist based on good references that they feel they can trust and do as much research on dental procedures and treatments and risks as possible .
It's guys like these who are running dozens of so-called dental "institutes" that are putting on weekend courses in implant dentistry, advanced prosthodontics, TMD therapy, etc who are directly responsible for giving under qualified dentists the confidence to even attempt these advanced full mouth rehabilitation cases.
oh, they will blame the patient, of course!! this is one reason why i declined the dentists offer to recommend implants. another reason is because the dentist is unable to make me a denture that FITS AND WORKS.....why would i trust him to do implants?!?!?!
This is insane, how else can we trust other dentist? and they even charge a hefty amount...why can't they innovate their practice? its the 2024 already everybody is using ai or things i heard there's an ai for the dental industry.
Chris Pickle's report shows the dental industry's gaps, making a strong case for embracing dental AI like Kriss AI, which is developed by real dentists' expertise.
Me too I was thinking of getting implant but I lost trust the doctors. Believe me I being to different dentists and each one says different stories. Always make sure that a dentist has many years of experience before you doing something.
A major part of the problem is the Arizona Dental Board, whose salary is paid from dental license fees creating an immediate conflict of interest, even in the most egregious cases votes no harm. One Board member in the September/December meeting tapes when it was suggested a license be suspended objected "now wait, these our our friends and colleagues." The mission is to protect the public. The Board should be honest about their mission or forced to do their jobs. Enforcement is not a priority with the administration. This is the across the board story to talk about. There is no redress for those you are exposing were hurt.

How about exposing dentists who ruin well-insured children's teeth? Because that's what happened to me. My mom was too in infatuated and trusting of the psychopathic, blue eyed dentist to realize what he was doing. She still blames it on me, saying I didn't take care of my teeth. Yet I had a mouthful of symmetrical fillings, and two gold crowns in the back by the time I was 18. Thanks doc, you ruined my adulthood and did god knows what with that mouthful of metal you replaced perfectly good bone with.
@@riniramirez6818 They were my adult teeth. He ruined my permanent teeth. I have decay on a tooth that started at least 20 years ago after I stopped going to dentists, it's still perfectly viable.
Dentists without the necessary training shoulder some blame, but so do patients that don't take care of the implant. You need to get them cleaned 3-4x/year, you can't smoke, need to brush and floss 2x/day, diabetes needs to be controlled, and much more.
I do not get how people use malpractice as a reason not to get implants. There are many success stories. But you need to see a specialist, not some dentists that seldomly practices to implant or lack the proper education. The standard US dental education does not include enough information or practice to implant. This is something the doctor has to learn separately.
States & Congress need to pass new laws with detailed guidelines to regulate this BIL$$ cash cow. That’s ONLY way harmed patient/ victim can have any legal remedy, esp great fortune spent on implants & repairing health.

Very conflicting from the other dental implant video you posted. There are such things as early loss and late losses in dental implants which are required to be reported to the FDA. Early loss are almost always an injury and late losses could result in an injury as well. The 2% of device malfunctions is very different from the figure you posted in the last video, claiming 88% of dental implants fail. With a 2% device malfunction rate, longitudinally that just wouldn't make sense. Also, unless it's an injury, that wouldn't be an adverse event! It's very common (1/20) for patients to have SDR (Same day removals) for the implant which is misleading if you don't say that because it suggests it could just randomly fall out at any given time. Simply not true and disingenuous reporting.

It's Sunday so I have to wait a day to been seen. The company (24/7 operator) is not treating this as a dire emergency by any means. My mouth actually feels better. Good luck.
sadly I lost few implants because they were not done right, and the lousy dentist claimed the mouth rejected them , i should of tried to sue , too late now
Hello, glad I saw your reply.
They are supposed to make sure the gums are strong enough for them and that you not rejecting the material their putting in the gums bro they messed up that women's mouth , Thank you because like I said I was about to consider it but because of this broadcast I will never do it💯
It's not a "screw-like device"; it's an actual screw.
Some dental schools are teaching dental implant placement in their curriculums. Mine did not, but my buddy's dental school did. I did not start placing dental implants until I had completed hundreds of hours of post-graduate training.
Omg I'm not getting them now I was interested but I'm good. I don't like surgeries anyway never had none never want any and I'm definitely not about to pay for somebody to mess up my face an my mouth and my jaw bone they got life messed up they out there practicing on people mouth and life that's a hard No 👎 💯
Wow, looking at the woman's mouth with the issues shows her dentist was an idiot! She needs to get an attorney ... sad to say here in the US that is about the way to get change is by suing for large amounts of money ...
I wish I had known this before, I am having serious problems with dental implants .
Hi Carmen Did u remove your implamrds?
like what?
trust me you are not alone , my dentist was the worse, now my problems are starting
Oh no what problems are you having.
I am having both jaws done because my present teeth are a mess. I have no choice but to take my chances.
I hope everything turns out great for you.
They say FDA approved but I found out many electrical items that have a CE approval stickers are not Certified but instead China claims it stands for China export
Where'd you see them??
The experts here are a general dentist and prosthodontist.
These are not surgical specialties. This probably confuses the public even more when a news report doesn’t select dentists who have a surgical specialty behind their name.
That being said look for any type of dentist who has an ABOI or AAID board certified credential behind their name.
Legally this is the only credential that allows any dentist to call him or herself a board certified implant dentist.
I just had a filling fall out of a premolar.. and I went to two dentists who said I needed a Root Canal procedure, and then I went to a HOLISTIC dentist, and he said he can save the tooth by doing Pulp Capping... Don't get a root canal ! and get a partial instead of implants or bridges if you have to pull it !! to hel* with root canals and Invasive dentistry ($$$$) .. God bless
Well. I'm not going to get implants for the few missing teeth I have. Not worth it.
Use tic tacs. JB weld them and you're welcome 😎
@@Epiz76 Oh Sheesh. Hopefully no one takes that seriously. People are just dumb enough to do so. Having sugar glued to your gum.

Teresa.... Ask to speak to patients that have had the exact procedure done years prior.
@@Jacksonabean How would she find patients who did the procedure years ago?
Shoutout to Brian Harris in Auburn CA. Costs a little more but worth it compared to cheaper implants I've gotten.
WOW 😳😱. That's a Full of BS in dentistry industry 👎👎👎
Can somebody explain what went wrong with her particular procedure?
It is metal sensitivity that ruined her health. I saw a report about her long time ago. The before and after pictures are very striking. While the metal implant is called titanium but most are alloy with many types of metals inside. These all on 4 and all on 6 implants are risky and involve long term maintenance that is very expensive and troublesome. Of course, there is no good alternative. Denture doesn't work as well as implants in chewing efficiency.
@@speedingAtI94 what are you talking about 😭🤣🤣🤣
Are you talking about this case 2:57?
The implants here are placed by a monkey. They are not placed in the bone, but outside the bone just under the gingiva
And they are the wrong size. 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤣🤣

Can you imagine how stupid he is trying to place 6mm implant in 4mm bone?
How do you remove an implant that's osseointegrated?
It's very important to note that not everyone is a candidate (as this video states). But yes, where is the problem; is it the clinician, the patient?
Yes, and so many do not know what they are doing, bad dentistry is out there
Metal should NOT go into the mouth. Put ur HEALTH over ur Vanity
What are you going to do if you have missing teeth?
There are others material besides titanium.
Dentures for my missing teeth.
I have implants so I can chew food. Has nothing to do with vanity.
And how exactly where they supposed to choose commentators?
thats the problem with the whole dentistry vocation , its like the wild west and there is no one way all dentists are regulated to do anything so nobody is a expert any more than the other guy is . all the public can do is choose a dentist based on good references that they feel they can trust and do as much research on dental procedures and treatments and risks as possible .
Not a surprise, most dentist are winging it.
oh, they will blame the patient, of course!! this is one reason why i declined the dentists offer to recommend implants. another reason is because the dentist is unable to make me a denture that FITS AND WORKS.....why would i trust him to do implants?!?!?!
This is insane, how else can we trust other dentist? and they even charge a hefty amount...why can't they innovate their practice? its the 2024 already everybody is using ai or things i heard there's an ai for the dental industry.

WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE DENTAL OFFICE IN THIS NEWS INVESTIGATION?
If your a smoker dont do it.
👍Thanks...Yes , ...perhaps dentists can warn you about the failure of implants , but never of the highly possible periimplantitis and the future bone lost that can be coming sooner or later...unfortunately .....God save us🙏

How did it effect your adult teeth?
@@riniramirez6818 They were my adult teeth. He ruined my permanent teeth. I have decay on a tooth that started at least 20 years ago after I stopped going to dentists, it's still perfectly viable.

@@pearlmax You mention children's teeth. You got this procedure as an adult. These procedures are painful.
general dentistry is filling simple cavities , not implants
But general dentists are doing it anyway.
American GREED

Simply not true and disingenuous reporting.
.
Some dentist get in a hurry and let their assist do too much of the work.
